The whole team had various scheduled meetings ( video conference, calls ) with Ken every time we hit a milestone on the project. He was always on time and would explain each step in detail, he incorporated our feedback into the technical writing, target user analysis and the multiple revisions of the wireframes.

The different aspects and milestones of the project were delivered on time and many times ahead of schedule. Unfortunately we couldn't get past the Simple Starter phase due to the project being way out of our budget.

Ken was always in contact with us regarding the different stages of the Simple Starter. Any new feedback and revisions were dealt with in a timely matter and he was very knowledgeable about the recent trends and vibes that applied to our project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The level of attention that Ken gave us was just above and beyond anything we expected. Any time, any day he was always there to answer our questions and make sure we where taken care off.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

App development cost is definitely something that needs to get better. Since we provided the logo already designed as well as various mockups for the different screens and a basic structure idea for the app we were definitely expecting a less expensive proposal.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted an app that was easy to navigate and that would encourage users to use it over and over again. We wanted to focus on servicing one geographic area to start but wanted to make sure it was architected so that it could expand internationally with all the necessary language and currency functionality built in.

How did you select Webiotic?

We interviewed almost 10 different app development companies including some of the most well-known ones in New York and California. We like Webiotic's approach of starting with the Simple Starter. With that package, we could start with a minimal investment to create some basic documentation including a Technical Writeup, Sketches, and Target User Analysis.

Once we decided to move forward we first filled out a questionnaire to give Webiotic and idea of the style we wanted as well as the functionality and purpose of the app. Over the next month they collaborated with us and created the initial Technical Writeup, Sketches, and Target User Analysis. Once that was completed they were able to present us a formal proposal with 3 phases to develop the app according to our requirements. Along with the app development for ios and Android they were able to help us with branding and marketing the app to increase user adoption.

What was the team composition?

We had a Project Manager assigned to us that worked with us the entire time. There were other experts involved depending on what tasks were being worked on. These included design people, developers, and marketing people.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within 2 months of launching the app we have been blown away by the amount of downloads we are getting. We just had 500 downloads in one day which is well beyond what our expectations were. Users have given great reviews about the ease of use. All bugs and flaws were addressed in test phase.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication from the team was great. They were all native English speakers and used great tools to schedule meetings. video calls, and track project progress.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was most impressed with their flexibility. They are experts but they took the time to listen to our concerns and did their best to use our feedback. I am sure at times it was frustrating trying to reach out demands but they were always professional.

The project started in June 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We recently became ready to test beta sites, so I don’t yet have metrics. Their team has delivered exactly what was promised, however. They’re trustworthy. Their team under promises and over delivers, so they’re a great company.

How did Webiotic perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is excellent. We have frequent conference calls, and they’re always timely. Their team mapped out the entire project, so each phase has a deadline and specific deliverables.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication is one of the best parts of working with them. They listen to what we want and then make it happen.

No, not at the moment.

Go for it. They’re trustworthy.

The Project Manager was our main point of contact but the coder was in on some phone calls. It seemed like there team had a great communication setup.

Webiotic did a great job on the fine details when the program was launched and we needed small adjustments they got right on it and finished the project strong!

Once we selected Webiotic we had a series of meetings to decide the specifics of the app, and the functionality we felt was most important. After approving the core functionality we received mock-ups, and then development began. From there we did a round of internal testing, and then after some rounds of tweaks and revisions made the app live in the Apple app store and Google Play store where it can be found currently.

Ken was our point of contact, and was backed by an ace team of developers, graphic and UI designers, and writers who all knew their craft inside and out.

We now have a custom-built, high quality app that allows our customers to connect to us immediately and directly, setting us apart from our competitors.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. Webiotic were always responsive to our requests and emails no matter how many or how often we sent them. They were also always open to a call to discuss next steps or strategy, and I never felt like I was on the clock.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Webiotic is one of the few companies that I have worked with that knows factual industry standards inside and out without guesswork or fast talking. Webiotic uses their experience, expertise and knowledge to help their clients know the truth about app development and other digital media.

Are there any areas for improvement?

One thing that we would like to mention is that they could make it a bit clearer up front what options are standard when developing an app, and what would be considered premium or non-standard. Apart from that, they were always responsive, and helpful during the app's development.

My position at the company is multi-faced. My responsibility is to work with the product owner and the outsourcing team to bridge them. I work towards creating a comfortable environment where I can translate the product owner's ideas to actual technical and design specifications. We hired the company to be our development partner. The team at Webiotic worked closely with us right from the discovery phase to the final application handover. Webiotic helped us to create the discovery document which worked as the solid foundation for our project.

What were your goals for this project?

During this Pandemic situation, every business had to go online, and we were no exception. As a business, we provide martial art learning services. Due to the lockdown condition, we could not teach that to our students, and the video session was not an efficient option. Hence inspired by bigger health enthusiastic companies like Nike, we went ahead to create our own solution. An application where users could register themselves and avail themselves martial art training they used to get at our center.

How did you select Webiotic?

We had decided that we need to create the application. We did basic research and understood that if the idea were not executed properly, things would go south very soon. And for us, this was the prime criteria to select a development partner. We discussed with many companies for this project, but the approach that the team at Webiotic had from day one was the decision-maker for us. Unlike others, they were not eager to give us cost and start working on it immediately. They have a process, and they stick to that, and I would have to say that process is what made our project a success.

The project essential consisted of two modules. First and admin panel for us to manage the entire application. The second was the user-facing mobile application for the Android and the iOS platform. The admin panel is like a control center form where we manage users, courses, and the mobile application's visible content. The mobile application has the feature to have one to one chat with the training master, view training videos at your own pace. Students can enroll in different classes. Also, the application features a small social media section where the users can post their updates and share experiences.

What was the team composition?

The team assigned to us consisted of a project manager, two mobile application developers, one front-end engineer, one backend engineer, and Quality Analyst.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The team at Webiotic delivered the application in the stipulated time frame with the Quality check promised. We are currently in the internal testing phase for the application and looking forward to going live.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We worked together a little short of three months and not once did we want to complain about their communication. The project manager assigned to us was proactive and always available to answer any of our queries and doubt. The project manager was our single point of contact, and we liked that being a non-technical team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We are impressed with the process they have for the project execution. And I enjoyed working with the project manager. The team at Webiotic does not take shortcuts, period.

I’m the CEO of Alony Media. We’re an SEO agency and media company. Our team works with clients by providing SEO content marketing services, and we also build or purchase content-based websites to run on our own.

What challenge were you trying to address with Webiotic?

We needed an internal solution — a tool, system, or dashboard — that’d help us track some of our SEO stats and our clients' progress as well as monitor our internal brand.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Webiotic developed the internal tool I use to keep track of rankings and keywords. We did the UI/UX design work, and they handled the development. There was a lot of iterative, back-and-forth correspondence. I’m not a coder so I don’t know all the specifics about how they coded, but it was exactly what we needed.

I worked with one or two people. One was a product manager or COO who managed the development team.

How did you come to work with Webiotic?

We’ve known Webiotic for two years because we’re one of their SEO service providers. Having had a working relationship with them, it was easy to select them to develop this solution. I knew what they could do because they’ve built a lot of apps for other customers.

We invested between $25,000–$30,000. It was spread over a long period of time.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from August 2018–July 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Because it’s an internal tool, I only use it to keep track of the work we do. Our team uses it to create SEO reports for some of our clients. The solution makes my work a little easier by providing a lot of depth and data that I need, all in one place.

How did Webiotic perform from a project management standpoint?

Webiotic was very good, professional, and detail-oriented. I share similar characteristics, so maybe that’s why we had a good thing going. Our iterative approach ensured that everything was how we wanted it to be. They dove deep into the details of every feature and aspect of the application. Before COVID-19, we spoke at least once a week, but it has since died down. It’ll resume when this health crisis is over.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their attention to detail is impressive. I haven’t worked with many companies in the past so I can’t compare, but they were detail-oriented and I really appreciated that. A lot of other companies often drop the ball in this area.

Webiotic gave me all the attention I needed with weekly phone calls, keeping track of the progress, and taking their time. It was a long process but I never felt like it was rushed. They really gave me the feeling that I was an important client and I liked that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No one is perfect, but there’s nothing that comes to mind. This may be because we already had a long-term working relationship before the engagement.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Come prepared when you initiate the engagement; that goes for any development company. You have to know what you want to convey. At the end of the day, Webiotic will develop what you want, so it’ll be a lot smoother and easier if you come prepared with the details and features you want.
