I’m the learning and development manager at the Scottish Auto Cycle Union (SACU), a motorcycle union.

What challenge were you trying to address with Web Integrations Ltd.?

We needed to redesign our website. We took a strategic approach because we wanted someone that we could speak to quite regularly, so we looked for someone local.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve discussed through phone calls that we wanted our website to be more modern. Some of the changes we’ve shared include changing the way that our emails are being hosted, integrating an upcoming events calendar on our webpage, and incorporating a carousel with our latest news.

We’ve also wanted our website to be hosted on a different platform. As a result, Web Integrations Ltd. has built our website using Silverstripe and they’ve switched things over while enabling us to keep the same domain name. The team continues to provide web hosting services.

What is the team composition?

All work is done through their managing director, but there may be another person involved in the project.

How did you come to work with Web Integrations Ltd.?

One of our board members found them. The collaboration was just passed on to me when the person in charge left the organization.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve probably spent £10,000 (approximately $13,000 USD), and we’re continuing to pay them a monthly retainer for their web hosting services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2021, and we have an ongoing relationship with Web Integrations Ltd.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Web Integrations Ltd. has been able to break everything down for us in simple terms. We’ve relied on them heavily because we didn’t have experience with work like this.

Our website is now more accessible and it has more information, which allows people to easily be redirected to our platform. The site also looks more professional than before. As a result, we’ve had more traffic to the website. On top of that, we now have access to the backend, so we’re able to look at Google Analytics and other metrics.

How did Web Integrations Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve given Web Integrations Ltd. a rough draft of what we’re looking for, and they’ve been able to recommend what they thought would work and what wouldn't. The majority of our communication is done through email and Google Meet. We’ve also had a few in-person meetings and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve been reliable throughout the process, constantly communicating any updates or changes fairly regularly — at least once a week. We can also reach out to them whenever we needed to.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They can offer a bit more follow-up on the after-sale period. They’ve been great in the building aspect, but maybe they can improve on implementing small changes. At this point, we’re still waiting on them to finish some of the changes that we want to happen.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Follow a similar strategy to what we’ve done. We’ve had a rough idea of what we were looking for from the start and we’ve allowed the professionals to do their job and provide recommendations.

Please describe your company and your position there.

IK-Group is an innovative supplier of specialist products and services for pipe and pipeline, subsea and topside. Our clever use of proven technology makes your flowlines and pipelines run safely and profitably, offshore and onshore.

IK provides pigging products and services, bespoke Subsea engineering along with manufacturing of custom subsea tools and equipment, pressure testing, bolting and calibration equipment, field support and pipe intervention including hot tapping and freeze plugs. My role as Marketing Director is to head up the Marketing function across the entire group.

For what projects/services did your company hire Web Integrations Ltd., and what were your goals?

We have outgrown the previous website we had. It was out of date, clunky and not up to modern standards i.e. mobile responsive etc. Our goal was to massively reduce the sprawl of content and streamline it into a much better UI whilst making it much easier to talk to the person you need to.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Web Integrations is a company I've know for the best part of a decade. They are big enough to handle most projects but still small enough to provide that personal service. They also ranked very well on costs, being in line with similar suppliers but offering more add on services for the same price.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

This was a complete re-build from the ground up. We kept some of the content but for the most part absolutely everyone was redesigned from scratch. We also discussed the best CMS to use which suited our needs but also meant Web Integrations could do what they needed to do without having to use a clunky CMS. In the end, we opted for SilverStripe which has proven to be much better than our previous WordPress setup.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with the Managing Director, Creative Designer and their Developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After launching and bedding in the website, we noticed that users were sticking around more on the website, consuming the content and we also had a better level of enquiries. I.e., they had read the information and then made an enquiry with more knowledge about who we are, what we do and how we can help them.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We mainly communicated via email, but we had the option of setting up a slack group. We always felt valued by Web Integrations and never had to wait more than a few hours for a response. This was especially so when it came time to go-live as we felt like their only customer such was the service we received at that time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are local and spoke our language. They knew all of our team and we knew theirs. We didn't need to explain who we were or what we were trying to do whenever we needed support from them. This is critical when it comes to implementing something as without this close relationship it's much harder to succeed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None.

I'm the owner of a long established entertainment agency based in Scotland and with an office in London.

For nearly 20 years, Web Integrations have helped build, maintain and develop our web site making it one of the busiest of its kind in our industry. Our goal is to constantly improve our site to offer ease of use, choice and accessibility to our many clients.

Long previous experience with Web Integrations, shared values and a belief in their abilities makes working with them on this new project a very easy decision.

We're making a significant change to the platform to include the layout of thousands of pages. We're also improving functionality, speed and mobile performance.

We've worked with two main team members, the Managing Director and their chief design engineeer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We carefully monitor ROI when making changes to the site. We're seeing a significant improvement in the quality of leads which is leading to a significant improvement in conversion rates. Feedback from users is also very positive.

We get direct and frequent access to senior managers including the MD. Their style is informal, friendly but also highly efficient.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They've been working with us for so long that we feel a strong sense of partnership with them. We genuinely feel that they see our success as incredibly important to them. They know our challenges, understand our competitors and work hard, often out of hours, on our behalf. They feel very much like part of our own team.

They're genuinely hard to fault.
