A brand new website was designed, with checks all throughout the process to see that we were happy with it. An ongoing SEO project which we are updated on every month. A huge amount of work is done by Web choice for this and it has benefitted our growing business. PPC camapign is being run by Web Choice which has tripled our leads.

Their team’s as professional as we expected them to be. They provide everything that we ask from them. Overall, we’re happy with their services.

Their team was very quick as well. As soon as they started the project, their team focused on it. They’ve done a great job.

During the project, we were constantly in touch with each other. Their team asked questions and we asked them questions. They also quickly respond to emails and phone calls.

They shared the website with us, allowing us to see their progress. We also had an administrative portal that enabled us to make changes too.

I’m the sales and marketing coordinator for Allied Industries International, Inc. based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. We manufacture the Eco-Grip floor, a commercial floor that is 98% recycled. We specialize in commercial kitchens, such as restaurants, and we’re going into other industries, such as healthcare, in the near future.

What challenge were you trying to address with WEB CHOICE?

When I came onto the company in January, we had a very weak digital presence because we are predominantly B2B. However, for dealers and distributors to want to carry our product, they actually need customers to want to purchase our product. That gives them a reason to stock the product and have it on hand.

We realized that we needed to do some national branding. We also needed to do some PPC — so some paid ads through Google Ads — and SEO. At the time, the website marketing manager that was contracted out did a good job, but they were not necessarily on pace with what the bigger need was.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

WEB CHOICE does our PPC campaigns and helps with SEO. They also do web development and design. They helped develop a custom function on our site, so that when customers order through our e-commerce site, they’re able to put in their own FedEx number, and that gets reciprocated. WEB CHOICE had to do some API integration for the FedEx plugin and also to communicate with our shipping manager, which is ActionShip. That integration has made our e-commerce site work a lot better.

What is the team composition?

Sam is my point of contact; he is the person I communicate our needs to. I have interacted with 2–3 of the technical people, and they have also been extremely communicative, responsive, cordial, and professional. 

How did you come to work with WEB CHOICE?

I started researching people to help with our current website and to make our Google Ads campaign a lot bigger and more robust. I put a request out on LinkedIn, and that’s where I came across Sam (Sales Director & Co-Owner). When I went to WEB CHOICE’S website, what initially attracted me was that they had a diverse design style. They can design things in a way that is very particular to the customer. 

When I was looking at other people, I was deterred when I saw a design theme within their portfolios. WEB CHOICE had a very diverse portfolio of different styles of websites. That’s when I knew they wouldn’t impose their comfort zones or visions on our website; instead, they’d replicate the vision we had for our website.

My company has spent about $15,000–$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with Sam at the end of February 2020, and it’s ongoing. It started out as a project-based contract, and because of the quality of their work and how responsive they were, we’ve put them on a monthly subscription. That way, they’re available to work for us and complete any projects, as well as maintain the website.

The quality of their service is great. In my opinion, it’s been very good.

How did WEB CHOICE perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been extremely responsive. Even though we’re in the US and they’re in the UK, Sam is always available by email. More than 24 hours doesn’t go by before I get a response back, and if it does take longer, it’s because Sam is trying to gather information from his team. They are great communicators and are extremely fast to execute all of the work they’ve been contracted out to work on.

They stay very much on top of deadlines. If they’re delayed, it’s because they’re waiting on information or guidance from me. They’re good about being persistent and staying on top of things. We primarily communicate through email. Sam is always available in the mornings to do videoconferencing.

There have been some slight language barriers just because of the way English is communicated by American versus British people. Other than that, they’ve been very responsive. Their directions back to us have been very clear and helpful in guiding the process of how we want to get everything done. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like the fact they are very out-of-the-box. It seems like other web designers and SEO managers have one way of doing things that they’re successful with, and then they only like to do it that way. Sam is very flexible, and they customize pretty much all of our services to us. 

There’s never a challenge that they say is outside of their scope or that they can’t handle. They’re always willing to do whatever is necessary to get the job done. They give us feedback and advice customized to us, not just generalized to what works for everybody.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As I mentioned, the different cultural communication can be a bit of a barrier. Other than that, I feel like communication is very clear. If we don’t connect, we’re both really good about elaborating and getting to the bottom of what we’re trying to accomplish.

Any advice for potential customers?

The biggest advice I would give is to make sure that you have all of your ducks in a row. They will come at you with all kinds of questions and discovery calls, which are very good. Have your thoughts well laid out. Be prepared; they’re going to be very much on the ball and will ask a lot of tough questions just to make sure that they’re able to provide the service that the customer needs.

The goal was to create a SaaS application with multi-layer user accounts. The application www.20x.io had to be developed in a way that the client accounts will remain independent with their own database with minimal deployment time. Each client will have unlimited end-users and client accounts, all working seamlessly through the multi-layer web and mobile apps.

After contacting a number of agencies in the UK and receiving their proposals and quotations, we decided to shortlist a few agencies based on their understanding of the requirement, technology and methodology for development suggested and indeed price. In all areas, Web Choice came out as the winner.

The scope was to create a multi-layer SaaS application for medical & care staffing agency. Rapid deployment and testing based on an Agile methodology using Laravel and MySQL was the finalised technology stack.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Web Choice was a pleasure to work with throughout the project cycle and they stuck to the milestones and timelines from start to finish. Scope creep was avoided and managed by rapid testing and iterations.

The project manager was well experienced in managing such complex projects. Right from research and planning through to development, testing and beta release, proper transparency and communication were maintained. Daily Skype/Zoom meetings were key to successful communication throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Experience of the developers in creating solutions that are challenging. Even though there were some complex areas in the development such as creating and integration of own SMS gateway and paperless timesheets, the team came up with solutions faster than hoped. We managed to get the project completed and hosted as a cloud-based solution well within the budget forecasted.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had to go for third parties for hosting services, but from hindsight, we feel it would have served better if the hosting solution was also provided by Web Choice as we have come to understand that their managed hosting service may give us better security.

We wanted to update our website so it would work well across multiple devices and have a more modern aesthetic.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They used the structure our existing site as a base and completely redeveloped it using the latest version of WordPress. They coded the site to have responsive design, replaced all the graphics, and changed the overall aesthetic to give it a more modern feel. With regard to the design, they came up with several options for us to choose from and took the reins from there. In addition to redesigning our existing pages, they also built several new ones, and they helped us write new content for many of them as well.

I worked primarily with their main director, who assigns the work to the rest of their team, but I also did some work with a copywriter.

How did you come to work with Web Choice UK?

We'd built a previous incarnation of the site in-house a few years ago, but the platform we were using didn't work well and we ran into trouble with it. We started looking for someone who could translate our work into something a bit more manageable, and Web Choice had a good reputation. I don't think they quite knew what they were undertaking, as it was a long project, but they stuck with it and they've hosted for us ever since. The site had started looking a bit dated recently, so we asked them to redevelop it for us.

We started working with them sometime in 2014, and now that the site is finished they still do some minor projects for us.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The new site has only been live for about 6 weeks, but the general feedback we've had is that it looks infinitely better than our previous one. One key thing is that they've equipped us to do most of the site updates and maintenance ourselves. Another big difference is that we're more willing to point people at the site now, as it's got more content and it's cleaner to read. I think it's going to have a good impact in the long run.

How did Web Choice UK perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via phone and email, and then had a few WebEx conferences where they walked us through how to manage the site. They were very diligent with the project, and also accommodating whenever there were delays on our end. We financed the project in stages, meaning they were sometimes waiting on us to get paid, but they were good at gently nudging us to respond instead of getting impatient.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were polite and really charming to work with, which you don't always get with IT projects. It was a nice change of pace to work with people who were encouraging.

I've had previous experiences where we worked with a designer who was separate from the coder, and that was quite tedious. With Web Choice, they had resources for everything from design to copywriting. We gave them free rein on the design and every one of their options was of good quality. We also didn’t have to contribute much to the writing, which was impressive considering we're a unique organization that's very technical with both financial and IT content. Even with limited knowledge of those topics, their writers were able to dive in and add a lot of value to our site.

They rebuilt our site especially to suit the real estate business, and gave primacy to usability without sacrificing on appearance. Their primary products included a fully responsive web design, property listing platform with advanced searching and filtering capabilities, lead generation form with an acceptable level of security and clearly defined service pages that described our services. The structure of the contents was also ensured to be in the best SEO practice to enable the site to be effective among the search engines. By the finishing of the project, we were able to have a modernized web site that could be of direct help in our growth objectives.
