We hired We Create Digital to be our UX/UI resource for all projects. At some points, they provided development assistance too.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We did multiple projects with them over the course of a year and a half. The biggest project we did with them was a re-skin of the website and a re-do of our Write a Review flow. They provided wireframes, competitor research, development, and high-fidelity page designs.

We used user testing and user feedback to measure the success of the website re-skin and new user journeys.

We sat down for an in-person meeting and outlined everything we needed for our Woocommerce site. The We Create team had already analysed our current website to outline areas it could be improved and areas that weren't functioning well. This was very informative and allowed us to point out areas we wanted completely changed. 
They initially took our current website and removed plug-ins and fixed code that wasn't functioning as it should so that we could continue up use it during the re-build. 
We were provided with a careful and thorough quote which highlighted all work needed to create our new site. 
Once agreed, they re-built our site from scratch including improving the search function and allowing customers to filter our products by colour, pattern etc which can be very important for visual products like fabrics and yarns. 
We had some very specific requests on how we wanted our products to display on the screen and they designed these pages and created them exactly as we had asked, showing us the progress each step of the way. 
we had an assigned member of staff who would handle our site build and be our point of contact which was so useful. Any issues we noticed along the way (new or old) were reported using tickets and dealt with very quickly. 
A launch date was agreed and went very smoothly. 
We have already noticed a large increase in sales and order value since the launch date and revived a lot positive customer feedback about the new site. 
We have also signed up for a monthly retainer for the team to manage and maintain our site, including SEO work.

We were in touch on a very regular basis and everytime they finished anything we had queried they let us know by email. 
We have also been able to go to their offices for in-person chats which we love! 
Any time an in-person chat wasn't available if we wanted one, they arranged a video call for discussions. The deadlines we set were met. All of the staff have been so friendly and helpful, and they are local to us in Essex which was perfect for our needs. The management team even knew of our business already, so had a great 👍 understanding of our products and was able to feedback to thier team about changes that would work really well for us.

It was so great to just lay out exactly what we needed without any limitations! We had a bad relationship with our last website guy and knew he was going to be difficult during the handover, but the WeCreate team handled the whole thing for us and that was such a relief! 
They have never said 'we can't do that' or 'this can't be done'. They are incredibly knowledgeable and have a fantastic, positive attitude to all of our suggestions. A breath of fresh air!

Consistency of quality. In 14 years they haven’t dipped in professionalism, output quality, or responsiveness. That level of sustained performance is remarkable and positions them as a true long-term strategic partner rather than a typical vendor.

Their project management throughout the engagement was highly organized, transparent, and responsive. They established a clear timeline at the outset, communicated progress regularly, and consistently kept the project aligned with agreed milestones. All major deliverables—including design drafts, development iterations, content integration, and final deployment—were delivered on time and in accordance with the project schedule.

They were also very responsive to our needs. Any questions, change requests, or clarifications were addressed promptly and professionally. They provided thoughtful recommendations when needed, adapted quickly to feedback, and ensured that our priorities remained central to the process. We have asked We Create Digital to build a new website allowing us to sell our products online. Our goal is to offer our personalised, local expertise to the rest of the UK via our new website.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I've worked with We Create Digital before in my previous role at a separate organisation. I recommended to my directors they would be worth including as we reviewed potential web design companies to work with. I took a step back to remove any bias and my directors spoke with and received quotes from 3 companies in total. Ultimately deciding to go with We Create Digital. The leading factors were:

• Responsiveness: the team at WCD were quick to answer questions and update us throughout the initial process.
• Expertise: very quickly WCD displayed expertise beyond just web design, offering advice on a range of decisions we needed to make.
• Trustworthy: WCD provided a cost breakdown allowing us to make decisions on which features we felt were cost-effective or not, this was very important for us. Price: we found the quote to be competitive, although ultimately did pass on a cheaper quote from another provider because of the other factors mentioned above.

My colleagues had an initial meeting with WCD to discuss our goals and objectives from the project, timescales etc. Once we accepted their quote, work started on initial designs. In our experience this can be the hardest part of a project, however, WCD have showed a clear understanding of what we are trying to achieve and we are happy with all designs so far.

Providing feedback on designs is simple with the system WCD use and we follow up with a quick call to clarify anything. WCD have been very quick to implement any changes we request and the whole process has been simple. We're looking forward to our next set of designs.

3 people so far. Dean who is running the project alongside Jonah, and Chris who was involved with the initial discussion.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project is ongoing but we are feeling very confident. The designs so far we feel are ahead of our competition and we're excited for the project to go live.

Communication has been very easy, we've been most impressed with how quick the team at WCD are to respond to feedback and implement changes. This goes a long way to ensuring we stay on track.

The discussions and advice around our project have been very insightful. WCD have made such an effort to really understand our industry and our goals, when catching up regarding the project it feels like we're talking to an internal team rather than a third party.

I can't think of anything that could have been improved, we've been very impressed with the process so far.
