What challenge were you trying to address with WANT?

I needed a company that could provide branding and naming services, in particular. I reached out to WANT to provide me with a business name.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WANT created my company's name. Our guide to WANT was aiming for a futuristic name yet related to technology. The team came back with a list of around 10 names for me to select from, and I ended up sticking with my current name, Advantis.

I only worked with Jonathan (Founder & CEO).

WANT was recommended to me. We had an initial conversation to see if our companies sat well. We wanted to work with a company that was well-known in the branding industry, and that wasn't IT-related.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with WANT from February-March 2024. We plan on engaging with the team again in the future for our branding and logo design. At the moment, our engagement is paused.

I spoke to colleagues, and my business name stood out to them. For me, my friend's referral was good.

How did WANT perform from a project management standpoint?

WANT delivered work on time and on budget. WANT excelled in communication and responded to my questions quickly, being on top of communications.

Jonathan was incredibly swift with his responses. He was professional and seemed to come up with business names quite simply. He worked incredibly well.

WANT was very professional and knew what they were doing. From the perspective of someone who doesn't work in their industry, the team made it seem easy, making me feel comfortable.

Exceeded all expectations. Found a name that increased purchase intent while being trademarkable. Was able to successfully take over research from the internal team when last minute hurdles were presented.

Elevated the expertise of the entire team around them with their scientific understanding of nomenclature & architecture strategy, while still bringing a lot of creative juice to the project. We exited with a strong strategy and 2 trademarks that we pursued as a part of the new platform launch.

The names generated successfully inspired the CEO to think differently about the opportunities and challenges that a significant name change poses for the company as a while. The client also needed the pushing to see what opportunities could be. The team at WANT Branding proved themselves through inventive and textured names.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Working with WANT Branding was seamless. Their team was flexible despite the timeline becoming fickle. They were great partners in letting us know what was doable, what wasn’t, and providing alternative solutions.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed with their true sense of partnership and attention to detail. It’s rare to find a company that takes on the client’s challenges as their own. They spent the time thinking through our needs and our clients’. That empathy goes a long way in producing excellent work.

I wasn’t involved in the selection process.

We started the engagement with a discovery phase to share details about the product and some names we’d come up with on our own. WANT Branding provided a blueprint of their naming process, which we followed. We iterated on their ideas a few times, speaking with both small and large internal teams to gather a variety of potential names for the new solution.

I worked with a core team from WANT Branding that consisted of a managing director and a few brand consultants.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Internally, we’re still preparing the product for launch, so we haven’t received any feedback on the name. That said, we feel that they provided a great list of high-quality options for us to choose from.

We collaborated effectively, and their communication skills exceeded my expectations. Working with a small team helped us better manage the process.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They really understood what we wanted to accomplish with the product’s name. They provided a wide variety of great options, and we’ll continue to research on our own to determine the best one.
