• The aim of this engagement was to take an outside-in look at Read With Kylie’s website and identify any security weaknesses that are visible from a public standpoint. The assessment was designed to surface potential risks that could be taken advantage of without requiring access to the site, while also evaluating how well current protections hold up against common threats. Another key objective was to break down the findings into clear, realistic recommendations that can be implemented without overcomplicating the process.

This assessment covered a targeted review of readwithkylie.com, focusing strictly on what is accessible to an unauthenticated user. The approach combined automated scanning with manual inspection to identify outdated components, missing protections, and other potential weaknesses. Testing remained non-invasive throughout and did not involve exploiting any vulnerabilities. The review was conducted in alignment with widely accepted security standards to ensure a practical and relevant evaluation.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

A successful outcome for this project meant clearly identifying the most meaningful risks and presenting them in a way that is easy to act on. The assessment resulted in two findings—one high and one medium severity—highlighting both outdated software components and gaps in standard security protections. Beyond just identifying the issues, success is reflected in providing straightforward guidance that gives the client a clear path to remediation. The results also serve as a useful benchmark, making it easier to measure improvements and maintain stronger security over time.
