The video aims to demystify process mining and make it a more accessible product for our customers. Additionally, we wanted to highlight ourselves as a leader in the market. Tangibly, we hoped the video would drum up interest and convert potential customers who realized our software’s potential.

Verstiuk Production began with a research phase to familiarize themselves with process mining. Even though we provided them with our own marketing and financial material, we were surprised at how thorough and well-detailed their first version of the script was; it only needed minor edits. Next, they developed sketches and storyboards, which, again, only required small modifications. We chose a voice-over resource and background music from a list prepared by Verstiuk, who delivered the finished animation a few days later.

Verstiuk prepared a document detailing the production and feedback process at the beginning of the project, and they adhered to it throughout. They were open to communication and handled feedback quickly and easily.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project only ended recently, but we’re expecting the video to receive a good response.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was easy and direct. Despite changing project managers, we were able to complete the project a lot faster than we anticipated.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

First, they quickly understood our product and market without requiring a lot of input from our side. Second, the initial draft of the script was quite close to what we wanted to communicate. And third, they worked extremely fast, transitioning between phases (e.g., finalizing the script to checking video sketches) in a day or less.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Our only issue was a good one to have. Verstiuk Production worked so quickly that they were often waiting on us. While we had to take a few days to check each stage with our team, their managers waited eagerly for our feedback so they could continue production.

First, their team provided us with half of the video to ensure that it was to our standards, then made changes based on our suggestions. Verstiuk Production then presented our company with the finished 2-minute video.

They sent me a document that explains everything about the project and asked us to fill a shared survery to explain all aspects of our project and our goals. We agreed on the financial budget, milestones, payment timeline, and deliverables. They sent me the script for review and we had several edtis until we reached our final version all were on time from their side. We chose the best voiceover that fits our project. We went through several drafts before we reached the final version of the video after all comments and recommendations.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a clean, comprehensible video to introduce users to the app and guide them through the benefits of using it. We wanted a sharp, on-trend video that efficiently demonstrated a visual sequence.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I had worked with Verstiuk in the past on an incredibly successful video game promotion; there was no question about using them again. Their strong portfolio for similar projects stood out to me in my initial online research. 

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

I provided a storyboard, assets, and a description of style and timing requirements; they did the rest. They produced a script and we developed the imagery, using screenshots of the app to guide instruction and adding illustration and photography as needed facilitate better visual interest and clarity. Despite multiple rounds of revisions and requested content changes from the client, Verstiuk continued to deliver.

They exceeded expectations! Our client was astonished by the video’s professionalism and quality. The product was very well received by both the clients and their participants.

The project manager was diligent and proactive in communication. Directions were followed closely, recommendations were forwarded as necessary, and requested changes were made, allowing for a smooth and effortless project.  

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I appreciate how easy they are to work with. They translated our storyboard into an impressive display of communication and design; their seamless video transition and recommended soundtrack made for a very strong visual presentation. Go With The Flow Technologies is a startup. We're building a device that captures green energy off of moving water like river or ocean currents.

What challenge were you trying to address with Verstiuk Production?

I was looking to have a video that would visually and vocally describe the technology that we are building and how it works. 

The video was to be used for advertising our website; it's also used to explain to people what we do, and to draw investors.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The video is meant to make people want to watch and get more interested in the product; video is the easiest way to describe what it is that we do. The very first thing I tell people when speaking about my company is to check out the video, and then we'll talk more.

The video is 2 1/2 minutes. Verstiuk is also making a second video for me that's half a minute.

For the first video, they did a voiceover to go with the video which sounds professional, and it describes in detail how the machine is assembled and its functions. It visually shows both of those components, as well. It's a 3D-animated, computer-generated video.

Verstiuk gave me clear instructions detailing what they required of me, and I provided the script. They made it very easy. Even for the second, ongoing video, I just scribble some thoughts on paper, scan it, and send it off to them so they understand my point of view. They're able to work with that and turn that into something very creative.

How did you come to work with Verstiuk Production?

I was looking for a computer engineer to help me work on my project, and they reached out to me. I'm glad they found me because I didn't even know a service like this existed. The cost for the value was amazing. I wouldn't have considered it if it wasn't as affordable as they made it.

How much have you invested with them?

The first video cost us $2,000. We're working on the second video, which will be around half the price of the first video.

What is the status of this engagement?

They were very fast, but it took me a long time to give them the information they needed. They were on top of it. We've been working with them since summer of 2017. We just started the second video a few days ago.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I was very impressed. I originally made my own video with my own computer graphics. I asked if they could make it better, and what they produced was by far superior to what I thought was already good. This is why I'm going to keep working with them, and I'm going to have them make further videos as needed for advertisements. I'm looking forward to doing more business with them.

How did Verstiuk Production perform from a project management standpoint?

There were no issues whatsoever. They offered very clear communication and very direct questions. What convinced me to do business with them, what the fact that they did not ask me for all or half of the money upfront. They asked me for a small amount of money to start the project, and they showed me what they were doing. That was convincing because I wasn't putting a lot of money upfront risking. I was putting up a little bit, and I saw right away what I could get.

I paid an increment as they kept on working on the project, and I felt very comfortable doing that. I wasn't taking a big risk.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They approached me very professionally, and they made me feel very comfortable taking a chance by not asking for a lot of money upfront. They just asked for a little bit, and they showed us what they could do for us. When I saw the very first image of what they showed me, I was sold. I know how much work it takes to produce something like this. As I've said, I've done my own work, and I could not possibly do what they did, not with the number of hours required to do it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think so. They're coming from a different country, but their language understanding and communication are better than my own. I'm very happy with them.

I provide digital marketing consulting for a few businesses, including ones operating in the cryptocurrency world. This includes content creation, copywriting and so on, primarily for online businesses.

What challenge were you trying to address with Verstiuk Production?

For one of my clients, I needed to create a promotional video which looked good. I didn’t have in-house capabilities for editing in Aftereffects, which is how professional-looking videos are done, especially if they include animation. I needed someone to do it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I had the script written, and I had an idea of the storyboard. A colleague of mine made storyboard drawing mockups on paper, and I also had a voiceover and background song done for the video.

In terms of the actual storyboards, the way the video looked, and all animations and transitions, everything was done by Verstiuk. The final product of their work was a single video.

Verstiuk handled the hard part, animating the video, which was quite complex. Verstiuk came up with a storyboard based on my script and mockups. I had a main character which needed to do various things. I let my imagination go, and was surprised that Verstiuk agreed to everything.

The storyboard was basically the video in static form. They started animating it and showed me 30-second snippets. I came back with adjustments and feedback, and they adapted and improved the work until we got to the final product.

How did you come to work with Verstiuk Production?

I knew that I needed to complete a very complex project, and the video was a part of it. I went on Upwork and interviewed a number of freelancers, one of them being Olena Chernei from Verstiuk. We had an initial Skype call and kept contact throughout one weekend. Once I had more details about the project, we set some deadlines, and I went to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of the project was around $3,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with Verstiuk in June or July 2017. The project took a week to complete.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The cryptocurrency world is a small community of investors. The video is on YouTube, but it doesn’t have many views. However, the impact on the community was positive. Everyone loved it, and, branding-wise, there is incredible ROI. Many people have contacted me to do similar videos for them.

How did Verstiuk Production perform from a project management standpoint?

I had a tight deadline, so they put several animators on the project and did what they could to finish it. The process took 7-8 days, which, based on the other information I had about doing a video this complex, was very fast. From what I understand, something like this usually takes 2-3 weeks.

I always communicated with them via Skype, and asked for updates at every step via Trello, per our requirement. The team was very polite, we chatted every day, and I knew what the progress was. My impression was that Verstiuk was professional, prepared and organized. Everything promised was delivered on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Cost-wise, they’re very affordable. Doing something similar in Western Europe would probably cost 3 times more. I could also see that Verstiuk had talented designers, because their approach was flawless. They were also very professional; anything I asked for, no matter how far-fetched, was answered with “Sure, we’ll do it” or “Sure, we’ll try”. They were very positive, which was reassuring, especially since I don’t have knowledge of what kinds of animations can be done in Aftereffects. Oftentimes, my imagination can be too wild, but Verstiuk was able to do a lot of things.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really. This was one of those rare cases when the work was flawless.
