As a new starting company, we needed a user friendly, clear and strong message to our potential users of who we are and what we will deliver to them.

VBrand Visuals helped as establish a baseline from where we can grow our marketing and branding areas of the business. The process was split into 5 stages:

• Verbal discussions, plus written form documents, to understand our company's aims and objectives. More importantly, what message we want to deliver for our future clients.
• 3 main drafts to establish a direction, followed by an online meeting.
• Refinements and colour variations of the chosen logo version.
• Final touches to the design, storyboard and branding view of how the logo will appear on our applications, clothing, etc.
• 4 format types of the finalised company logo.

Progress was measured based on the timing plan we have established with VBrand Visuals after the first main stage of discussion.

The success was measured from our perspective of how we want to be shown to the public as a company with new innovative technologies. 

When our first product is publicly available, the logo design can be evaluated further.

At the beginning, we had a view of how the logo will look. We realised this is not applicable to our company, after recieving the first 3 variants of the design. Regardless of the challenges, ViBrand Visual started the process again. They still managed to deliver on time 3 alternative logo designs, after further investigation of our company values. We loved the first design on the spot and started refining it until we got our final product.

I’m the executive director of the Bulgarian Platform for International Development (BPID), which is a nonprofit organization focused on working in the field of cooperation for development. We’re the only legitimate national platform that’s also a member of Concord Europe, is an umbrella organization which gathers older platforms and international organizations in the European Union. 

At a national level, there’s a platform like ours from each member state that gathers different stakeholders. This ranges from non-governmental organizations to universities that work in the field of developing topics like human rights, gender equality, health issues, and so on.

In every platform, we have the red crosses from different member states as well as other big stakeholders that work for the development of third-world countries. Right now, in Bulgaria, 16 national organizations are members of ours, coming from all fields including education, gender equality, relief, and development.

What challenge were you trying to address with VBrand Visuals?

We were looking for a long-term partnership with a company that could give us full support in regards to communication strategy, web development for our projects and corporate website, and social media marketing and content creation. We hired VBrand Visuals to assist us with these tasks.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Most of the aforementioned platforms were established years ago, but ours is relatively new, established in 2009. From then to 2019, most of our communication channels were outdated. I was working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and their PR team in matters of development cooperation. When I became the director of BPID, my team and I realized that we needed a new way to target our audience.

Our organization has a strong focus on advocacy. We advocate for law changes in the sphere of development cooperation and we work very closely with different ministries such as the Ministry of Education and Science. We needed to communicate with other stakeholders that are interested in working with developing countries, so VBrand Visuals helped us rebrand, change our corporate website, and present a fresher look.

Additionally, we’re working on different projects financed by the European Commission. These are programs that focus on awareness training in regards to development cooperation issues, which can be very hard to communicate in eastern European societies, like ours, that come from a communist background. It’s very hard to convey why the Bulgarian government should fund different projects in other countries. So, we have communication to youth projects as well as advocacy communication.

We chose WordPress as a platform for our website because of its popularity and all the different plugins that can be adapted to our needs. VBrand Visuals also customized some themes for us. 

For social media, we are focusing on Facebook but we’re in the process of further developing our LinkedIn and opening an Instagram profile to target the younger population.

What is the team composition?

We work with both the manager and the brand manager. We have a very easy communication system and could speak directly with their leadership if needed.

How did you come to work with VBrand Visuals?

One of our partners recommended them and said that they were very happy with VBrand Visuals’ work. We got in touch and booked several meetings to discuss our needs before making an offer.

How much have you invested with them?

I think we’ve spent around $25,000 for the period of our contract. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We set up a contract in August 2019 which will end in February 2022. We have yet to see whether we will prolong it or not after that.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have different types of metrics but the internal communication between our member organizations about the quality of the products we've developed is among the most important. So far, the feedback has been magnificent. The KPIs we established at the beginning for our social media platforms have been accomplished.

How did VBrand Visuals perform from a project management standpoint?

We see this as a big project with many smaller, sub-projects inside. Thus far, the process for developing our visual content has been very simple and convenient. 

Every task starts with a simple questionnaire and a discovery meeting. This personal communication is important because it’s harder to do what we do via email only. VBrand Visuals would deliver 2–3 concepts for the product and we would gather all the feedback from our member organizations or our board. After that, the implementation is done along with the delivery of the materials.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s very easy to communicate with VBrand Visuals. They take the time to understand our needs and do the best to meet them. They’re also very creative when it comes to graphic design.

Their team is familiar with our daily operations and is flexible when scheduling meetings for calls. This ease is why I’m considering prolonging their contract. As executive director, I have many other obligations and very little time, so it’s very impressive that they’re so easy to reach. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know of anything that they should improve right now. From what I gather during our meetings, they work on improving every day. They stay on top of trends and new technologies and processes. 

Their team is growing, their processes are smooth, and they’re on the right track.

Share your needs and give them space. Trust that they’ll provide the solutions you need. You won't be disappointed.

I'm a project manager at EDUway Ltd, an educational materials development company. We create materials for children that align with the suggested teaching and learning methodologies. Our products are highly connected to art, and the visual aspects are crucial. There's a strict methodology regarding the materials' appearance, including colors, lines, and styles.

We needed help building the visual design of a school book for math lessons.

What was the scope of their involvement?

VBrand Visuals has been helping us with the visual design of a school book for math lessons. The book is part of the visual materials used by teachers and students, which different schools subscribed to.

We had half of the lessons ready and needed to negotiate with VBrand Visuals to give them all the information on how the book would look and what colors would be used. We've initially worked with a color palette, but the book should be black and white and not printed as a booklet. VBrand Visuals has reworked everything to meet this change.

We've given them some visual materials to stick to, and they've offered us a few designs, including logos and print design. We've explained what we needed, and they've provided different versions.

What is the team composition?

We work with three people: a leading designer in charge of the project, a person who makes small changes after the draft is ready, and George, VBrand Visuals' manager, who oversees the overall process and ensures everything runs smoothly.

We were referred to them by friends and NGOs who had used VBrand Visuals' services.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The math lessons book designed by VBrand Visuals has been used by 11 classes all over Bulgaria, including big cities and small villages. Around 15 teachers and 200 children are using the lessons. The book contains 124 lessons for the entire school year, each between 6 and 8 pages long.

Math books are tricky because they require children to keep track of many things. For children from the 1st to 4th grades, there needs to be many schemes and visual prompts to help them understand the material and tasks.

VBrand Visuals has managed to keep the visuals more prominent than the text. They've planned the page space excellently, and the book is easy for children and teachers to work with. Thankfully, the team will make a color copy when we're ready to print it color-wise.

How did VBrand Visuals perform from a project management standpoint?

We've devised a neat scheme for exchanging materials. We give them raw materials, and they provide us with something for feedback. The process is back and forth, and it runs smoothly for the number of people involved and how tight our deadlines are.

George is in charge of collecting our feedback for their designers, so he is in contact with us. We communicate mainly through Gmail and use Google Meet and Google Drive. We also use OneDrive to make the final versions of the materials available to teachers.

What did you find most impressive about them?

VBrand Visuals has been ready to work with something that wasn't as clear as we wanted. We've had problems on our part with finding resources and meeting deadlines, and they've been very patient with us. The team has reorganized their schedule to have everything done.

VBrand Visuals has recognized our mission because our company is mission-driven. We feel they realize the importance of the project for us and the client. In a world where we mainly talk about money and deadlines, it was nice to have someone who recognized that we had a mission beyond that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes we've felt VBrand Visuals needs a few more people to have more time for all the projects they run. They're a small company, and managing this is hard. We feel VBrand Visuals is always in a hurry, but it hasn't affected the quality of the product.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear and explain exactly what you need from VBrand Visuals in the beginning. Give as many examples as possible. The team looks into everything. On my side, I spent time with the manager and the designer to understand what was essential and why it was beneficial.

I’m the co-founder and executive director of Center for Legal Aid Voice in Bulgaria, a nonprofit organization. We provide legal aid to refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers in Bulgaria through consultation, judicial representation, advocacy, and communication. We've existed for 15 years.

What challenge were you trying to address with VBrand Visuals?

We needed to strengthen and expand our communication platforms to reach a bigger audience. In fact, we wanted to expand our influence over the general public, the media, and governmental institutions, so we started paying more attention to the communication methods we use.

Our work is project-based, and every project and donor has strict communication requirements. Some donors require a whole new website for the project to be launched. However, given that we had an organization website and another parallel site, we needed to strengthen our communication platforms equally.

Moreover, our first website was built 10 years ago by volunteers, so it needed to be renewed and to function more smoothly. As a result, we started seeking a partner who could help us build a new website.

We do brainstorming sessions to analyze the number of visits and the keywords people use to reach us. The team explains which publications have had the most visits and interest.

How did VBrand Visuals perform from a project management standpoint?

VBrand Visuals delivers on time and stays on budget. The majority of their work is during emergency situations, so they’re very reachable. There’s almost no time we’ve reached them that they haven’t answered within an hour. This is particularly beneficial for us. Moreover, we communicate via Google Meet and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

VBrand Visuals' understanding of our work is impressive. I wonder how they have managed to get a quick understanding of our particular work and the character of our organization, which is key for the communication quality. We’ve talked a lot about the website and how it could be structured. This was one of the precious things that happened in the beginning and determined the fact that we stayed with them for the following years.

We need to improve the website and add certain functions according to the expansion of our organization. This is happening smoothly.

We used VBrand services for various different projects. The main project was the packaging of all our products. Vbrand came up with a very good and original idea to print out a sleeve for the carboard package, which is much more cost-effective than printing on the cardboard directly. It is also more original and flexible - allows us to have different packaging for different products.
