I hired Varritech, Inc to create a MVP out of my vision what is now portabletenant.com - one rental application and tenant screening report you can share with many landlords. 
I worked with developers in the past. All development is hard, especially in terms of communication so I did not have too many expectations. You just need to start and deal with whatever comes to your way. 
The founder, Cristano, is very involved. He is very skilled in terms of technical development and an excellent communicator - this combo is hard to find. He always saved the day when the project started going sideways in terms of design or backend work. Cristiano always got it back on track. 
The project itself ended up being much more difficult and more involved than originally proposed.  At times, I was worried Cristiano will say "screw it", and drop it. Though, that's not the business man he is. He finished it all the way to the end for our quoted price and per our agreement. I know it was hard and it took double the time. I appreciated the patience of his employees with me, Renata and Patrick, and his excellent designer Matheus. 
All of the above, makes for a valuable business relationship. At least I value it very much. If you are looking for a solid web developer, you can't find much better.

Their responsiveness was excellent. Feedback loops were short and communication was proactive. We had access to weekly check ins, transparent task tracking, and consistent updates through Slack and Notion. Any changes or clarifications we requested were discussed promptly and reflected in the next sprint without resistance.

They adapted well to evolving needs and showed flexibility where required, especially in areas involving compliance standards and integration details.

While every project has its learning moments, Varritech consistently demonstrated a willingness to improve and adapt. One opportunity for refinement could be initiating certain compliance and integration discussions earlier in the process. That said, their responsiveness and proactive attitude ensured everything moved forward smoothly.

What impressed me most is the exceptional human and technical quality of the team. Cristiano is an incredible individual working with him and his team is truly a pleasure. He is extremely talented, quickly understands complex concepts, and consistently transforms even the most challenging ideas into reality with speed and very high standards. Despite our demanding expectations, they often exceed them and take the time to ensure every step is 100% aligned with our objectives. This is one of the best tech companies in America for sure! We consulted several companies before, and Varritech was truly the perfect fit for our project. What typically takes 12 months to build with others, he delivers in half the time, if not three times faster, while maintaining a level of quality that clearly stands above the rest. That's impressive!

There are no major areas for improvement. If anything, earlier visibility into future roadmap phases could add value, but overall the collaboration, execution, and delivery exceeded expectations

We tasked Varritech with progressing our app from the beta version to the full release on the app store. This included the integration of new AI functionalities, UI/UX update, significantly strengthening the back-end coding, and marketing support. 

The key deliverables were:
- CustomGPT creation
- UI integration of animations and a new logo
- Move from 'coding light' to 'world standard' for back-end coding
- Modernization of supporting databases and systems
- Fixing potential security issues 
- 'Choice of Language' functionality

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• The team proposed a CustomGPT solution that reduced our estimated timeline for completion by two months (and ~$7k) by resolving multiple proposed updates at once. 
• We have gained significantly more followers from Latin America after employing the Spanish language option. We have now also secured a Peruvian chef to promote in Spanish on the app.
• The app is much more stable now and we have not had any crashes since they updated the back-end coding.

They set high expectations and delivered on them, everything was on time and on budget. They also communicated clearly and efficiently, and allowed us to choose how involved we wanted to be during the updates.

• Their technological and AI expertise is at a very high level. They have always been able to provide effective and elegant solutions for our updates. 
• Their communication is excellent. They helped us through the 'unknown unknowns' very well, providing plain language where needed, and they created a supportive & collaborative environment while still remaining proactive in their execution.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Varritech could have done differently?

Every app is different of course, but it would be nice to see a development curve showing what can be expected each step of the way, along with examples that Varritech has worked on or seen. I have passed on this recommendation to the team.
