I’m the CEO of a personal concierge and planning company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Varga Girl Design?

We had a client that was launching in Canada and wanted to do some marketing to get their name out there. My company came up with the concept of doing a pop-up shop at a local market. We decided to go with a boutique, one-day shop but needed to brand the event for April Fool’s Day. Working with a PR company, we came up with an April Fool’s joke for the shop.

We wanted people to try the bread without knowing it was gluten-free. Once they saw how great it tasted, we’d reveal that it was actually gluten-free. We needed someone to create a new brand, solely for the one-day shop to make our joke work. That way, no one would know this was a bread company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

She developed every aspect of the temporary brand, handling the logo, stickers, banners, brochures, promotional tent cars. Their company had connections with printers, so they took care of that pretty quickly. This was a last-minute project on our end, so we needed all the deliverables within about a month’s time. 

Additionally, they designed graphics for social media and a website to establish a sense of a digital presence for the temporary brand. They didn’t need to do as much work as a real newly-launched company, but there was some digital marketing work involved.

I only deal with Rachel (CEO) but know that she likely had a larger group working on the project. 

How did you come to work with Varga Girl Design?

I met Rachel through a networking group I attended years ago. We liked her style and promptness, so we tested her services out with a few other clients. She came through on the smaller test projects, dealing with business cards and smaller deliverables. Because of her early success and our enthusiasm for her style, she did some rebranding work for us and other clients including this project.

We spent between $8,000–$12,000 on their work.

We worked together from February–May 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They made the temporary company look like a legitimate business that was meant to be permanent. It looked like people had been working on the brand for months. Even though the company was fake, it looked truly convincing and professional. We ended up getting good publicity out of it.

The solutions look like they could be transferred to future campaigns, in case we wanted to do another project like this in the future.  

How did Varga Girl Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Rachel is great and always meets deadlines. That’s one of the reasons we’ve continued working together after such a long time. If emergencies come up, she’s always available to help out. I’ve even worked through problems with her on weekends. We communicated for this project daily over email and Google Drive.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

The client experience and design with them are great. Everything is on time, and they’re quick to make changes when we need them. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

For what we were doing, it was perfect. We only had a month to make this happen, and they went above and beyond.  

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them a try and see if they understand your vision. They have good design skills and follow-through. They’re fairly flexible, up-to-date on new technologies, and talented at what they do.

I'm the founder of Sharp Dental, which is a company that provides a service which helps dental offices work more efficiently and effectively by having sharp dental hygiene instruments.

Sharp Dental hired Varga Girl Design in order to create a website for their company. Something simple and easy to use.

SOLUTION

How did you select Varga Girl Design and what were the deciding factors?

I heard about Varga Girl Design through word of mouth. And after reviewing some of the work done by this company, and having a ZOOM call about the project at hand, decided to hire Varga Girl Design for the job of creating a website for Sharp Dental.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

After a ZOOM call which entailed getting to know one another and exactly what was expected of the project, a mockup was made of the website, and the project took off! Many calls were had, and Varga Girl Design was very good at keeping in touch in order for the work being completed to go by smoothly, quickly and without any complications.

The owner of Varga Girl Design was my main point of contact and she was very good at keeping my project high on the list of her priorities.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The website created is very well thought-out. Customers love it, as it is very easy to navigate through and pleasant on the eyes. The colours are well matched!

Communications were mostly email based. We often had ZOOM calls, and if something was very pressing, we would text over the phone. Overall, communication was very speedy!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Varga Girl Design really tries to connect with you on a personal level, and tries to create exactly what you want. This company is very good at reading people, thus the outcome is very good!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Everything went smoothly! All questions are replied to by Varga Girl Design in a speedy manner! Would recommend and would choose again to work with!

Varga Girl Design built a website on Squarespace from top-to-bottom. I provided all of the content, although they provided some graphic design and stock imagery to enhance certain aspects of the site.

Varga Girl Design built this website five years ago, and it was a 3–4-month project.

Varga Girl Design was very easy to work with. She does what you need done — what you ask for, you get. I haven’t received any feedback on the site, but when websites don’t get feedback, it means they work.

She got everything done quickly and efficiently, and without arguments. She was very good.

There were no difficulties or complications in my engagement with Varga Girl Design. She made everything simple and delivered what I asked for.

They helped us build a visual timeline for our company that is both playful and effective. Whenever I need something upgraded or changed, I reach out to Varga Girl Design.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We started to see more interest from customers, many of whom filled out our online form. We included a link to our online portfolio in all of our email outreach, which has attracted new clients and provided them with the necessary information about our company. Several people hired Varga Girl Design off my website alone.

How did Varga Girl Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was what I enjoyed most about working with Varga Girl Design. They have great communication skills and deliver results on time. The team is organized, methodical, and creative. It’s a unique mix of skills. 

Our teams communicated via email. They didn’t become less responsive over time, which I appreciated.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It felt like they could read my mind. Even before I would give them ideas, they had already brought those ideas to life. They can read people and understand how to make their objectives come to life.

No, everything was great.

If you’re looking for someone who gets to work quickly, understands your objectives, and will probably exceed your expectations, Varga Girl Design is the team for you. You’ll probably be very impressed with what they can create. They don’t just talk the talk, they walk the walk.

We were trying to develop a specific type of digital advertisement. I turned to Varga Girl Design for the execution of those ads.

What was the scope of their involvement?

One of my clients, a major international corporation, turned to me to create a digital ad campaign. I asked Varga Girl Design for assistance, and they went through the client’s RFP. From there, they created ad designs to satisfy the client's requirements. We went through several iterations of the designs based on client feedback. They created designs for 35 advertisements. 

They also did digital layout design for e-books.

I don’t have access to the client’s ad metrics, unfortunately. However, the client was very pleased with the work, and the campaign was a success. The team was easy to work with. We barely had to make any revisions because they hit the nail on the head the first time around. 

How did Varga Girl Design perform from a project management standpoint?

They always submitted work ahead of deadlines. They were on top of things. They took the lead, so I didn’t feel like I had to worry about what they were doing or how the project was going. They were professional and prompt. We had daily phone calls with them. We also communicated through emails and video calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their creativity sets them apart from other vendors, as does their speed of service and ability to listen. I was also impressed with their technical proficiency. Some of the client’s requests were highly specialized in nature, and I was unsure how to approach them. Varga Girl Design quickly solved my problem and did exactly what was needed.

No, I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’m the founder and CEO of a company that represents traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture services throughout Ontario.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Varga Girl Design?

I didn’t have any kind of social media presence and didn’t know anything about social media prior to hiring them. I’d written several blogs and created content without having anywhere to publish them. We didn’t have any website or branding experience either. They helped me launch all of these assets.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We spoke about our vision and mission for the business. Through that, they were able to draft several design options for my feedback. After 2–3 design iterations on our logo and brand, we selected one. They also set up an Instagram and Facebook account for my services as well as a brand website. 

They’ve also launched several campaigns with us since our engagement started. In December 2019, for example, they launched a series of holiday cards that were meant to pull Canadians out of the guilt of dealing with holiday events. They made several cards for the collections, and I received national coverage for the campaign. I was featured in global news publications and did several radio interviews about it. They also placed downloadable cards on my website and Instagram. 

The website was made completely from scratch. After requesting some images, articles, and my biography, they were able to easily scale my resources into a site with an easy interface. Patients can find my blog article as well as a place to book appointments.

How did you come to work with Varga Girl Design?

I was in contact with a media relations company at the time, and they recommended me to them. They showed me examples of their work, and I was eager to reach out. We seemed like a natural match, especially once we met for the first time, and began discussing my vision. 

Other companies insisted that they take the reigns because of their industry knowledge. They were more open to hearing my ideas and taking an approach that would best align with my company.

We’ve spent over $10,000 with them. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since around September 2018. They still populate my website with content and take care of my social media profiles.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Based on my vision alone, they were able to create incredible designs very efficiently and quickly. The design itself was authentic and organic to my company. It’s wasn’t simply templated without regard for my unique company or vision. I was blown away. Her second or third design hit the nail on the head. There was no need for too many iterations. 

The social media accounts and website have helped my business grow exponentially in target areas. After their holiday card campaign, my followers jumped significantly. I started with about 200 followers on Instagram, and now I have almost 20,000. My Facebook page is doing very well too.

I appreciate that the website isn’t completely business-driven. Instead, it’s a true extension of my business and mission. It’s clean, comprehensible, and easy to use. My friends and colleagues have given me wonderful feedback about it.    

How did Varga Girl Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Rachel was very accessible to me whenever I had any questions or concerns. She took all of the work related to this project on as if we were family. I was never handed off to anyone else on her team. Our communication was always smooth and easy. Her time management was great. 

Since starting my work with her, I haven’t had to worry one day about my social media presence. That’s been ideal because I want to primarily be focused on my practice rather than struggling with managing a website. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Rachel has an unbelievable level of creativity. I don’t know much about graphic design, but she’s knowledgeable in every aspect of the field. No matter what part of the project we’re collaborating on, it always seems like she’s a few steps ahead of us. She’s definitely got a Picasso-like knack for design work.   

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything.

I’ve already referred them to several colleagues. Their feedback about them is also very good, reflecting my experience. I wouldn’t recommend their services if I didn’t truly believe in them, but I’m confident in pushing people searching for a designer in their direction.

What challenge were you trying to address with Varga Girl Design?

We’re a small brokerage with an affluent client base which makes us a referral-based business. We don’t have SEO, Adwords, AdSense, LinkedIn and Facebook marketing, or anything of that nature.

We were in the process of rebranding so we were looking for a new image going forward. I needed a one-stop-shop for my new brokerage to handle all my branding and design needs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their range of services ran the entire gamut of everything related to design. From concept and logo design to the website and templates. This includes the coffee they provide as well.

They built our entire website from scratch using WordPress.

While the bulk of the project has already been completed, they continue to do a variety of design work for us.

I met Rachel through her husband, who I’ve known for years through his PR company. Over time, Rachel became someone who I can trust implicitly. I can give her the parameters of a project and she’ll come back to me with a finished concept.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My perception of the internet, regarding life insurance, is you don’t win clients, but you can lose them based on your website and appearance. I’ve received numerous compliments on the company’s appearance including our online presence, business card design, corporate letterhead, and all our marketing materials. This is rare as I don’t know how many people compliment insurance brokerages on their logos and letterheads.

Let me give you the best compliment I can give to Varga Girl Design. I’m taking 15–20 minutes out of my day to be on a call to tell you how great she is. This is not something I would for 90% of the people I know. Rachel is a very unique and talented individual who does phenomenal work — I will support her in any way that I can.

How did Varga Girl Design perform from a project management standpoint?

From a project management standpoint, they perform fantastically across the board. I’m very hands-off, so I like to give directions, walk away, and come back to have a completed project.

For this particular project, after the directive was given, we conducted a secondary meeting about a month later to go over some of the initial concepts. They came back to me a month later and showed me three concepts for the design. There was no communication in between those meetings but that was by my request.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What makes them stand out for me is Rachel. She’s a genuine person who truly cares about your success and wants to build what’s best for your business. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing they can improve on. She’s the only vendor I would ever be on a call like this with—she’s that good.

My advice would be to stop thinking and just move forward. Give Rachel the creative freedom to give you a great design. She’ll do the best work possible and you’ll be very happy with what she comes back with.
