Prior to creating a new brand identity for Nellie's Varga Girl worked to develop a rebrand story to engage each audience and demonstrate the value behind the rebrand. It helped answer the question of "What does it mean for the organization and why should each audience care about a new logo after 50 years." VG  helped the organization focus on the meaning behind the new logo, and that the new brand/logo it’s just words or a stylized spelling of the organization’s name.)

In addition to the new logo VG redesigned all our existing communication piences including brochures, letterhead, business cards, PowerPoint templates.  Created new brochures, banners, mugs and T-Shirts.

Additionally VG presented the new creative to Nellie's staff including how the mean behind the new visual identy. This was key to getting buy-in from our staff who were very attached to the old logo of the organization.  The presentation was so well received and the staff were impressed with the concept and look of the new modern Nellie's identity.

Nellie's rebrand was done on-time and met our hard launch date of October 1st.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Varga Girl has provided many services for Nellie's and all have been successful or we would not continue to work with them.

1) VG design is modern and allows us to stand out from other organizations. For example we were able to select our logo from the first 3 options presented to us.  It was difficult choosing because all the designs were great.

2) They have met every timeline that we have set. Some have been very tight, but met.

3) They are reasonably priced

All our projects were delivered on time. Working with Varga Girl has been easy. During the rebrand of Nellie's we met on-line to discuss deliverables and timelines. Adjustments were made when needed (usually to met organizational issues.) Rachel also explained the process behind a rebrand in a concise manner, and with a sense of humour.

VG also provided ongoing design services for Nellie's. Because she has created our look every brocure and report looks like a family and has strong brand itentiy. Something that was lacking before we engaged VG.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The principle designer Rachel has a design eye that is unique and allows for our brand, in the gender-based violence space, very different. She was able to create a brand that conveys strenghth and has a nod to our old logo.

Most importantly, when you are entrusting someone with your brand identity, it is knowing that the organization doing the work has your best interest at heart.

Varga Girl was hired to design our company's website and establish our web presence.   They also crafted a brand kit that we could utilize in all of our print and onlin materials.

We now have a fabulous, eye-catching website that really tells the story of our business.   The website includes multiple touchpoints where a potential client can connect with us directly.   Within the first week of launching the website on LinkedIn, we had over 2000 views.

Rachel delivered all items on time and provided multiple desiegn options to help us articulate our brand's voice.   She made multiple revisions at our request and wanted to make sure that we were happy with the end result.

I'm the founder of Devoted, an alcohol-free brew.

What challenge were you trying to address with Varga Girl Design?

I required branding and design services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Varga Girl Design has created my company logo, can labels, website, and investor deck. For every project, I initially set up a meeting with Rachel (Owner) to discuss my vision and hear her thoughts and ideas. From there, she comes back with a nice PDF quote on how much the project would cost. Once I approve the quote, we will start working immediately.

For this engagement, I've provided Rachel with a blueprint of the products I offer, but I've given her free rein to see what she can create. She has used her original ideas to create those elements for me. For the logo design, she gave me 10 different logo options for me to choose from. From there, I picked the ones I liked and sent her some other ideas. Then, we worked collaboratively to find the perfect logo. Moreover, Rachel has built my website from scratch using Squarespace.

I found them on Google. I searched for a top logo designer and saw that Rachel had won many awards internationally. Although I saw that she was in Canada and I was in the US, I looked at her work and was so impressed that I actually stopped looking. Immediately, I knew she was the one, so I decided to move forward with Varga Girl Design.

We started working together in May 2023, and we’re still working together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to my new website and branding, I've seen an increase in leads and people asking where they can buy my products. The quality of Varga Girl Design's work is exceptional. Rachel works hard to ensure I'm happy with the products, and I know that she goes above and beyond for her clients, focusing on one client at a time.

How did Varga Girl Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Rachel is very timely, exceeding my expectations. As for budget management, Rachel always sticks to the budget she provides. Originally, I went with Varga Girl Design for logo design. Since then, I've also required can label design, website design, and investor deck design. For every new project, Rachel provides me with a quote, and no project has gone over said quote.

We communicate a lot via email, but we also hop on Zoom calls once in a while whenever Rachel wants to present something she has worked hard on so that I can provide feedback.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The project has gone better than I had imagined. Rachel is visionary and brilliant when it comes to creativity and thinking outside the box. Moreover, a nice thing about working with her is that she doesn't take on too many projects at once. She's even turned business down to spend all her time making her current client happy.

Rachel is also very patient. As a new company, we've gone through many legal procedures and changes. For example, we've had to switch our product category from alcohol-free beer to non-alcoholic brew and back to alcohol-free brew. Thus, Rachel has changed our labels three times. Still, she has remained extremely patient about those changes.

Overall, Varga Girl Design has exceeded my expectations with their designs, work quality, and precision. Rachel has really listened to my vision, and she's really good at what she does.

There's nothing they could improve on.

Engage with them as soon as possible because Varga Girl Design is all about quality, so they'll only focus on one client at a time. Have the initial discussion call with Rachel and provide her wich as many details as possible on your vision so that you can get her on your project soon.

Initially, the team interviewed me to determine my preferences and the path to take on the branding. We also met in person to align who I am and what I was looking for for my firm. Varga Girl Design’s work is very cutting-edge. Rachel thinks outside the box and far into the future, and her designs capture a person’s essence. Since it takes time to appreciate how the public views your branding, Rachel takes the time to study my wants. Overall, I have a great relationship with Varga Girl Design; Rachel is conscientious, and I rely on her to translate my words into something on the page.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Every engagement I’ve had with Varga Girl Design has been above and beyond excellent. Rachel is always timely, and I’ve never had an issue with her deliverables because she always makes sure to show me options.

I’m a content strategist at a financial services technology company. We provide software to financial services companies so their staff can post on social media without breaching regulatory restrictions. My focus is on providing content for the end customers.

What challenge were you trying to address with Varga Girl Design?

We hired them to create social media templates.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Varga Girl Design created approximately 100 social media post templates for our end customers. They sent a preliminary batch of designs for feedback, then finished all the template designs. We had a back-and-forth process with feedback and waiting periods while our legal department approved the designs. 

We requested some priority posts; Varga Girl Design had to deliver posts celebrating employees’ birthdays and key holidays like July 4th or Christmas. They did research to see common layouts for our requested designs, such as some holidays or topics the team was less familiar with. After those key designs were drafted and we got confirmation we were on the right path, Varga Girl Design put together different versions for various channels.

The templates were intended for the end customers to customize to a certain degree, so one of Varga Girl Design’s deliverables was a resource document explaining where end customers could customize those templates for themselves. The goal was to avoid any missteps. 

The designs were Canva-based so that end customers could edit them. Varga Girl Design shared the templates through a Canva link with all the instructions to go along with the designs. End customers used their own instance of Canva to make the changes. 

Additionally, we had to look at copywriting and the legalese. End users have copyright permission to use the templates depending on how the content will be used. Varga Girl Design did the related research, and our company vetted it to ensure the phrasing that went into the instructions covered everything from a legal perspective.

I worked with Rachel (Owner). Although she may have had support from other teammates, I’m not certain. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Rachel was awesome. Because of her years of experience, she anticipated potential challenges and was prepared to address them. Her work was removed from the end customer who would ultimately use it, so she kept that in mind to determine how comprehensive the instructions had to be in the resource manual. 

How did you come to work with Varga Girl Design?

I had worked with them before. When the company came to me with this project, Varga Girl Design was my first thought. We had a preliminary call to get a sense of the brief, and Varga Girl Design responded with a proposal about what the project would look like and how they could phase out the delivery.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2022, the first round of deliverables was in early 2023, and Varga Girl Design completed the work in May 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The internal feedback about the templates was awesome, and our sales teammates were very anxious to have access to them to sell. The sales department wanted more to offer from a value add point of view, and end customers asked for them because they had challenges thinking up social posts.

A library of templates will make it easier for end customers to populate their content calendar. These templates will take some of the burdens off end customers. 

How did Varga Girl Design perform from a project management standpoint?

They stayed within the budget, were available for every client call, and were always thoroughly prepared. We used Slack as a project management tool and email, texts, and phone calls to communicate. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with Varga Girl Design’s professionalism, experience, and high quality of work. They came to mind for this project, and I’ll keep working with them because of the good work they do. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there was nothing they needed to improve. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Although Varga Girl Design isn’t the cheapest, you get what you pay for. If you’re looking for high-quality work and premium output, they’re worth every penny.

I’m a solo photographer who owns a photography studio under my name — Rob Cooper Photography. I offer photography services for weddings, engagements, corporate offices, families, and more.

What challenge were you trying to address with Varga Girl Design?

I had been using my own hand-made logo and visual assets for my business, so it was time to go more professional. Therefore, I required a partner who could help me design a professional logo and an entire branding suite with guidelines and visual assets.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Varga Girl Design helped me design my logo and two business cards. They also developed my branding, defining the colors, typefaces, and brand guidelines. In addition to all the visual assets, they provided me with a multi-page document that details how to place my logo, showing various options, combinations, and examples of how to use it.

Initially, we had a very long interview process, where they asked for information about my business, my ideal client, and more. During this process, I shared with them a large marketing strategy document I had recently developed with the help of another company. After they revisited the marketing strategy, we had a couple more Zoom interview calls.

Once the discovery process was over, Varga Girl Design came back and presented me with seven design options. I selected one of them, and they made minor changes to it per my request.

I was working on a marketing strategy with another company from Toronto, and the strategist recommended several designers and copywriters, including Varga Girl Design. Varga Girl Design did a lovely job designing my logo and branding, and they provided some interesting options. They were very different from each other, which made it a bit difficult to decide. Ultimately, they delivered a logo that represents my business very well — I liked the colors.

In addition to that, Varga Girl Design was kind enough to design a second business card for me. They had already designed one card, but I wanted a business card that had a photo of myself on it so that potential customers could recognize me from wedding trade shows. Rachel delivered a beautiful business card with the photo I wanted, as well as a professional and simple business card with information only.

How did Varga Girl Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Varga Girl Design hit right on target regarding the budget, and their communication was very good. They were prompt, responsive, and open to my suggestions. Rachel always communicated timelines and expectations very clearly, and she stuck to what she said. Overall, they were fantastic — I can’t say enough good things about them. We communicated via emails, phone calls, text messages, and scheduled Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Varga Girl Design’s strength was their amazing level of communication; they were excellent communicators and made me feel like a valued client. Additionally, they delivered high-quality work, and Rachel was very accommodating and great to work with overall.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We talked on the phone and I felt very quickly that Rachel understood exactly what I was looking for and how she could help us.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

After a number of discussions, Rachel quickly embarked on revising our website. She was able to complete the project to meet our timeline and we went live with the new site soon after.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The project only involved myself and Rachel. The decision and review process moved quickly and she was able to get our site back on line without too much interruption. This was key as C2P had a pending plan to launch an email marketing campaign by the end of the same month.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The feedback on the new site was very positive and I was pleased that the site worked equally well on desktop, tablet and smartphone devices.

Rachel was easily available at all times of the day which allowed for quick decisions and reviews, thereby allowing for a sucessful and expeditious completion of the project.

We needed help with a rebrand.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Varga Girl Design rebranded our company, which included creating a new name and logo for us. First, we had a meeting with them and told them what we were looking for. Then, they came back with some great name options. We iterated on the name 4–5 times until we chose one.

After the naming process, Varga Girl Design went into the logo design process. We also iterated on the logo design, asking for small changes until we were satisfied with it. Additionally, they created a lot of things we didn’t ask for. For example, we just asked for recommendations on how to create images and content in line with our new brand, and they designed and delivered various assets.

I reached out to different people I found on Google, including Varga Girl Design, and we ended up choosing them because Rachel’s work really spoke to my wife. Their site had some stories about the different brands they’ve created, and my wife liked how much thought they put into their work. We felt that we would get a very custom brand.

We worked together from January–March 2022. Still, we will probably keep working together on other projects.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

We were very happy with the designs that Varga Girl Design created, as well as with the amount of time they spent going back and forth with us so that we were satisfied with the final product. Our contract said that we would have two revisions, but they still let us iterate 3–4 times.

How did Varga Girl Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Varga Girl Design’s performance was excellent in all project management areas, including their communication and ability to stick to timelines and budgets. We communicated via email, Zoom meetings, and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Varga Girl Design truly cares about their clients being happy with their work. Rachel genuinely took the time to understand what we were looking for and worked with us around the different changes we requested so that we were happy with the result.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

In our case, it would have been better if we didn’t come into the partnership with so many concrete ideas about what we wanted. It would have been helpful if we had let Rachel guide the creative discussion from the start.
