Their team put together wireframes, came up with custom UI/UX ideas, and designed a simple and clean design that goes with our brand. They built a fast website that can grow, is good for SEO, has pages that are easy to navigate, clear wording, and consistent images. We got a complete UI kit, layouts that look good on any device, and all the main sections were built, they also made sure the website ran smoothly. Everything looked great, kept the user in mind, and matched what we wanted to do as a business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

VALMAX designed and developed our website from scratch. Initially, we provided them with our brand kit and the content we wanted to see on each page. Then, they created a quotation based on our needs and the kind of pages we wanted to include on the website. The quotation was based on the cost per hour required to create each part of the website, as well as some additional features within the website.

From there, we started working on the website. VALMAX used Figma for the design and offered two different options for the development. One of them was WordPress, and we went for it.

We talked with the COO of VALMAX at the start of the project. After that, they assigned us an account and project manager, who was our primary point of contact. Behind him was a team of designers and developers.

We communicated through email and Zoom calls. Although the project ended later than planned, it was mostly because we weren't providing the information they needed on time. They were quite fast with everything else.

VALMAX's ability for graphic design was impressive. We gave them a brand kit, and they came back with really interesting graphic design ideas for the website.

Midway through the project, we initiated a significant turnaround in direction. Their industry research provided valuable insights that helped us differentiate ourselves in the market—even though it meant discarding the initial design concepts at our request.

What stood out most was the highly personal relationship we experienced throughout the project. Even though our project was not the largest, we always felt like an important client and as if we were their top priority. Communication and transparency were excellent—we could follow progress at any time, which gave us full confidence in the process.

Overall, the collaboration with VALMAX was excellent, but there are a few areas where the experience could be further improved. At times, long email threads made communication a bit challenging; having a dedicated project chat channel (e.g., Slack) would have streamlined discussions and kept everything in one place. Additionally, toward the end of the project we had to purchase a few extra licenses for WordPress plugins ourselves. While this was not a major issue, it would have been ideal if such licenses were provided under an agency license so that everything came from one source.

I consulted with two or three web design firms before beginning my project, and immediately decided to go with ValMax after meeting with them. From the very first meeting, I could tell that they were engaged, committed, flexible, and committed to realizing my ideas, and this proved to be the case throughout the duration of the project. After I conveyed my aesthetic vision for the website, they created a few different general website layouts for me to choose among. After I selected the perfect one, they then systematically built out the entire website on the basis of that layout and the general aesthetic vision that it reflected. The layout that Valmax created and the ensuing building out of the website clearly showed that they had listened and genuinely understood the ideas that I had conveyed. For example, they thoughtfully viewed the photos of my office that I provided in order to generate a website color scheme that accorded with the color scheme of my physical office. They also came up with clever ideas to make my website interactive and compelling in a way that would help it stand out from the competition. For example, they rendered digital versions of hand-drawn diagrams that I provided and then arranged these digitized diagrams in an easy-to-use scrolling menu, and similarly arranged the branding photographs that I provided in a compelling way. The building out of the website was generally a straightforward process, and ValMax was always very responsive and communicative whenver any hiccups had to be worked through. I now have a beautiful, crisp, and modern website that I couldn't be happier with to represent my practice!

We approached Valmax with the goal of a complete rebranding . We effectively wanted a completely new look to go with our new web application. Step 1 was to find the right logo. Once we settled on a logo when then went for the brand fonts,colors, etc. We were glad that Valmax suggested we be bold because this was part of our core objectives at the start of the project. We trusted and followed through and glad we listened. Step 3 was to build out a wireframe of what all we wanted to be included in the website. Again this was done against a strategy. The temptation was always to add more to the website but this was counter of website strategy. Once the wirframe was completed, it was reviewed, signed off and then work began on the implementation and animations. Finally, we did all the connections of neccesary licenses and agreed the project was completed according to expectations.

We agreed that 10am Tuesday weekly would be virtual meetings where progress was presented and the next steps discussed. The ensured we were always moving forward but not too rapidly that we were not able to deliver the 'homework' given to us. So the weekly meeting gave us sufficient time to get the deliverables on time. We had a strict budget and wanted the best possible outcome. The website hit both sweetspots where we got an excellent website for a fair price. Not easy to find this sort of value spectrum

It was managed by one project manager. All meetings were hosted by the project manager and all my change requests or questions were sent to the project manager. This ensured I had a single direct point of contact. My needs were always responded to rapidly and with thorough answers . This allowed me to make informed decisions. When something was easily understood, I was able to ask the questions during the virtual meetings.

I really enjoyed working with the PM who was also the owner. This gave me the sense that I was working with a PM with vast experience. 

What was also unique was intially we wanted the project done within a short timeframe but what became apparent was in-fact we didnt need to rush as our launch of our website was to be tied to our new app launch . And VALMAX allowed us to move at our own desired pace. This ensured we didnt rush the process and we got the best possible outcome. So the flexibility that they could work slower because it suited our needs was great!
