What challenge were you trying to address with Usertive?

We needed help with the UI/UX design of our website, particularly with the whole process of onboarding users to the platform. That is why we partnered with Usertive.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The project began with a workshop and discovery phase where we told Usertive everything we wanted to achieve. We wanted to get good conversion through a simple onboarding process, so they designed a user flow for our website. Usertive listened to our requests and made the onboarding formula form more aligned with the whole design and layout of our platform. 

After making several minor tweaks to their proposal, they went ahead and redesigned our UI/UX. The first version of our website was built using React, and I believe Usertive used React as well. They created a whole step-by-step onboarding process that entailed email verification, and they used much of the same technology stack and existing website assets. 

The main focus of our brand was an arrow. It had a middle section that sped along with the scrolling and left behind a trail of metrics around how much faster we were than our competitors and what our cost reduction rates were.

Apart from redesigning the UI/UX, the team also did some coding and DevOps. They launched our website, attached a domain to it, arranged the server, and configured the analytics. We didn’t need any maintenance. Once they were done, our in-house designer took over.

What is the team composition?

I don’t know how many people were involved in the coding, but there was a product designer and two UI/UX designers. We were also in contact with the project manager who guided us through the whole development process.

How did you come to work with Usertive?

A friend of mine who owns a startup company had used Usertive in the past. He recommended them to me, saying that they had good prices and knew how to design good B2B landing pages. I looked into the price of the project I was looking to do and found that Usertive was right in the middle of the range, so I decided to go with them.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent €14,000 (approximately $16,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from April–May 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were very helpful throughout the whole discovery process. They designed a very good website that had 3–4 times higher conversion rates. We received two kinds of feedback around the UI/UX as well, the first being that the interface was nice and well animated. The second feedback, which was far more important for me, was that the whole onboarding process from the website to the platform was seamless. 

How did Usertive perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was excellent. They not only stuck within our budget of €20,000 (approximately $27,000 USD) but also allowed us to have a big overhead left. We typically communicated via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have outstanding design skills.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only issue I had was with the project manager. I had to address the same thing twice sometimes. Their response time could’ve been a little faster as well. It sometimes took up to three days to get a reply from them. They were, however, overwhelmed with a lot of projects at the time, so it was understandable. Other than that, everything was good.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You may not always agree with their ideas, but it’s worth listening to Usertive’s advice because they have a pretty impressive amount of knowledge regarding designing for conversion. They can work really well if you schedule an exact roadmap of the whole project at the beginning.
