The project was delivered even faster than we agreed. The team understood the tasks and our objectives easily, the work was very profesional, the team is also very responsibale and proactive and foroerd thinking, very eficient and very decent and onest. I have full crediebilty on them and their management.

Resident Home is a house of direct-to-consumer brands in the home goods space. The company owns and operates multiple brands catering to different consumer furnishing needs including Nectar and DreamCloud.

The company is headquartered in San Francisco with a dedicated New York City office and an R&D facility in Tel Aviv. From 15 cities across 5 countries, Resident also has a diversified virtual workforce of more than 200 employees. My role in the company is the Director of Engineering and Head of Frontend Development and QA. I manage the developers on a day-to-day basis, mentoring the teams and managing the program. I also take part as a Scrum Master.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Titanium Labs?

Resident Home hired Titanium's services for developing the e-commerce websites we have using state of the art SPA technologies and practices taking into consideration that all brands uses the same API. The company has currently 7 different brands (websites) that were developed using the Titanium Labs crew.

What were your goals for this project?

The ultimate goal was to create a scalable yet simple product that will allow us to change it very often with minimum effort and complexity. e-commerce companies need to respond very quickly to any market trend, therefore the architecture should support fast and agile workflow and processes.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We had market research for companies that can solve our problem. After a few iterations with different companies, we decided to go with Titanium which gave us the best value for money in terms of quality and flexibility.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They developed, configured, and launched a new frontend eCommerce solutions. The project began with a discovery workshop, which let us reach a mutual understanding of the business challenges and goals.

Once we approved the workflows, wireframes, and mockups, the actual production began in the form of 2-week sprints. The team was able to develop 5 full functional eCommerce websites and delivered them right on time.

What was the team composition?

The project team had about 13 people, but certain individuals would come and go depending on the skills needed. We had 3 team leads assigned by us based on their experience and coding skills. We also had a Product team in NYC that supported them. The team leads were led by me.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our solution was developed and launched on time. Project completion was a major achievement for our executive leadership, board of directors, and investors. In fact, we were able to grow our business portfolio and derive 30% more in revenue.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was good and was led by other stakeholders in the company. Their team regularly complied with deadlines and always communicated delays well ahead of time. Unexpected turnover never threatened to stop critical progress. We communicated exclusively with Slack, Asana, and GitHub.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive thing was their commitment and devotion to our project. They treated everything like it was their own project.

Are there any areas for improvement?

My only suggestion for the inexperienced is to document as much as possible before brainstorming. Validating your project requirements will be much easier with thoughts already articulated. They should not be afraid to push back a feature if they are not sure they can do it on time.
