I’m the owner of Showerly.ca, an online business I started. It sells my invention, a shower curtain with a built-in liner.

I needed a website made that had Shopify integrated into it as I launch my business.

My first iteration was a disaster, but then they came in and built the site integrating Shopify.

I worked with one point person.

How did you come to work with Upgrade My Site?

I was looking at other developers who wanted to build something from scratch for a lot of money. I’m not that great with computers, so I wanted to have Shopify integrated to make sales easier. Upgrade My Site will build you a Shopify site affordably, and they’re based in Canada, which made communication easy.

How much have you invested with them?

It was $1,000, plus tax.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked from December 2019–January 2020. The site would’ve been finished earlier if I wrote the content quicker.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’ve already had sales, which is nice. Everything on the website is functioning perfectly. The site they built is clean, nice-looking, and functioning.

How did Upgrade My Site perform from a project management standpoint

They would communicate with me through email. If I had any concerns or questions they would quickly address them. They’re very organized as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their response time was fantastic. If I had a problem, it’d be fixed instantly. They made me feel like a priority.

They also understood my vision very quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. They knocked it out of the park.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would give their contact to people who want to get started in the e-commerce world at an affordable price point.

Basically, nothing was working on the website in terms of creating traffic. We approached Upgrade My Site to generate traffic and online leads.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Upgrade My Site developed our new website. Their team used the platform Wix.com, which allows us to log in and update content such as setting new rates. Based on our previous site, they removed any unnecessary information. Their team worked to make sure the platform came up on the first page of search engines. After assessing Google AdWords and keyword research, their team managed our SEO efforts. They integrated content based on what the consumer’s looking for specifically. Now, when the user actually gets onto the website, it answers all their questions including how they can apply online. Then, the platform directs them to fill out a simple contact form.

What is the team composition?

We had one person dedicated to generating leads that are spread around to all the agents.

Upgrade My Site worked with a well-known company in India, which built a lot of confidence in their services.

We spent about $5,000 on their services for this development.

What is the status of this engagement?

We hired Upgrade My Site July 2019 and the website launched in October.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They created a website that’s friendly to our users. We loved the design, which is why we launched it. Upgrade My Site came up with ideas once they were totally into the project. We didn’t have to chase them. Upgrade My Site produced impressive results.

Communication was exceptional. We created a WhatsApp group. Their team updated us constantly. Upgrade My Site was on time with their delivery of products they were committed to. Their team was on top of the project to see how it has progressed and identified what needs to be changed. We worked together constantly to make sure we got to where we wanted to be.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Upgrade My Site had phenomenal product knowledge. They were what I needed in terms of having someone on our team to get results. Their team had excellent communication too.

Honestly, they were good.

What challenge were you trying to address with Upgrade My Site?

I needed someone to build our website and was looking for a vendor that was easy to deal with and could quickly deliver.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Upgrade My Site developed our website from scratch. Currently, they help us tweak the system every couple of weeks. They’ve also taken over SEO work and content writing, which we monitor very closely every two weeks or so. We see how our clients react on the website and based on that, we define what needs to be changed.

Their team proposed that I have the website made with Wix, which has many in-builds, a CRM, and other features. Overall, it’s going to be a long and continuous process with them.

What is the team composition?

The owner of the company is the main person working with me. He comes to meetings every couple of weeks.

How did you come to work with Upgrade My Site?

Because of the way their owner approached us and gave the meeting a very personal touch, we knew he’d understand our market and products. He said he’d be with me throughout the whole process.

We’ve spent $10,000 on this project so far.

We started working together in March 2019, and the collaboration is ongoing.

The website is live and we get a lot of positive feedback about it. I’m satisfied with Upgrade My Site’s work. They’re open to my suggestions and willing to improve upon them.

How did Upgrade My Site perform from a project management standpoint?

We talk over the phone and through email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Upgrade My Site’s owner is open to listening to what I want. I give him an idea and he comes up with his own suggestions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve on time management. A couple of things were slow here and there, but they finished everything on time so far. I have no major complaints.

I’ve referred Upgrade My Site to a couple of clients and they’re also happy.
