Melina B.: We were trying to build an app to buy, sell, and trade goods and services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

JR: UniQual iTech did mobile app development for us from scratch. We started by giving them the details of what we wanted to produce, and then they created a flow chart to show how everything would work step by step. The product enables users to sell products; they can put a title, a description, upload a picture, and a price for the good for other users to find that product in the listings and buy or trade them.

In addition, the product has a geolocator through a Google API to look for products in a particular city or state.

MB: The app is available for Android and iOS. They’ve provided a lot of feedback throughout the development phase so we can implement the changes we wanted and needed efficiently.

Currently, they provide ongoing support.

JR: The product works!

MB: They’re also reasonable regarding our requests — they don’t charge us or ask for a minimum payment for most of our changes.

We had a series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals and objectives. We provided their team with wireframes and designs. Within two weeks, they delivered the first round of iOS and Android app. They incorporated our feedback in a continuous loop till the app was perfected.

The iOS and Android leads were easy to communicate with and provided frequent updates. We had both in-person meetings and phone calls, but most of the feedback was through skype.

Their ability to incorporate the feedback and try new ways are impressive. They had a comprehensive idea about Android and iOS ecosystems.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They are willing to go the extra mile to accomplish the outcome set. This is commendable. Face to face meetings early on could have been helpful.

The team took on some design work based on our changes to the original figma files. The design is functional but could be better.

Team has been working with us since Jan 2021. They take care of the complete app dev and maintenance. We have already done several releases to both app stores. First was the POC which was completed April 2021.

First major release June 2021. After that we have constantly made new features, enhancements, bug fixes releases (15+) to the stores frequently.

One team member works closely with us and coordinates all the work requirements and deliverables. We have frequent team meetings to explain requirements and for product demo. Trello is the PM tool. Confluence is also used. Both provided by us.

Their commitment to deliver to our requirements. Communication is very good. They are always updating on progress and are available when we want them.

Progress reports will be something we will introduce as the team gets bigger and app grows with features.

I've already had a bad experience with a previous agency for my previous project. But this time I decided not to let other freelancers bid on my project because every agency tries to show themselves superior and promise a lot of things, instead this time I dug into Upwork to find the best agency for my project. I spent hours analyzing hundreds of profiles based on reviews, portfolio projects, job success rate, etc., and finally selected Uniqual Itech.

This project basically had three layers/phrases retailer's app, customer app & delivery personnel's app. They delivered the first two within 1.5 months (which I wasn't expecting btw) and the third app took over three months to code because of its sophistication but they did all this with perfection.

Though initially, they assigned a business analyst to interact with me but because the project was complex and I needed a technical guy to discuss a lot of technical aspects of the project thus later company's CTO/Founder himself took over and guided me as well. We've had dozens of meetings since then.

We've just released the apps, so I don't have any metrics as of now but I've tested the apps by myself in low-end devices as well and they work super great.

They invested their resources in R&D for my project. They've gone the extra mile in accomplishing the task (unlike other agencies who just want to make quick bucks). They were very easy to communicate with. They're just great!

Their deliverables were the most impressive of all, but I was also very pleased with their professionalism. The quick and polite response was something that I was overwhelmed by.

No, they're just perfect in everything. Though initially, I found UI to be a bit odd than the one I gave them but when I complained about this to Pritesh they rectified that within few days.

Yes, UI UX phase was a little rushed, and I have called it out and they immediately rectified and recorrected all my needs. Still they are standby to correct my ongoing needs.

Testing for every milestone is as well mentioned and they have allocated it as requested. All areas look perfect to me.
