We wanted Ungrammary to redefine our Loan Origination journey, using a mobile-first approach. Second, standardization of UI (User Interface) across all our component platforms was an imperative we took up such that all design components are templatized across all product offerings of our company. The UI standardization was done across both mobile and web platforms, across our loan origination and loan management product suites.

The scope included redesign and enhancement of the user experience and accessibility of the price planning solution. The deliveries were made in three Phases that included userflow and UI design of about 8 modules.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

One of the key factors of project success is on-time completion, ensuring efficient delivery. A proper handoff process was done for the seamless transitions post-completion. Also, the stakeholder’s queries were answered in a prompt manner, and feedbacks were incorporated throughout the project, demonstrating their adaptability and responsiveness and contributing to the project's overall success.

A detailed project plan was shared with us at the beginning of the project. There was a sense of urgency demonstrated throughout the project duration. All our constraints and requests were accommodated, and yet all the artifacts were delivered on time.

Measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrates progress thus far includes completing the full cycle workflow for each module and feature of the clinical solutions software with wireframes and UI. The team also provides clickable wireframes to ensure the software meets the needs of the users prior to going to development.

The Ungrammary team is extremely responsive. Prior to starting any project or module development, they ensure they have a deep understanding of the customers needs. They ask questions to gain clarification, when it's needed. I am able to schedule meetings in less than 24 hours to ensure continuous progress on the projects. The team is open to all feedback related to the workflows, wireframes, and UI. Also, the team will bring back ideas for how to improve the software.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I have enjoyed working with the team at Ungrammary because of their constant drive to understand the product we are aiming to develop. They can gather the information from our meetings and deliver a mockup quickly and precisely. Additionally, it has been impressive working with the team in another time zone because there is always movement on development 24 hours. When I wake up in the morning, I have an email waiting for me to respond and vice versa.

We recruited Ungrammary to work with our in-house design team to redesign of our mobile application. Based on their good performance, we subsequently gave them design projects that ran independent of our design team. Since 2022, we have also started given them responsibility for the front-end engineering of their handled projects (HTML, React).

Ungrammary was selected from a list of multiple design agencies who applied to be our design partner. The primary method of selection was by means of a practical test that tested their strategy+UX+UI skills. Ungrammary was the top performing agency from that cohort and was hence selected. We have a similar testing process for selecting development partners, which again Ungrammary attempted and passed.

The app redesign project was spread into multiple parallel design squads, which executed fortnightly sprints based on design thinking methodology. Of the total 5 squads, Ungrammary was taking care of the design for 2 squads. Each sprint of the squad included a problem identification, brainstorming, ideation, prototyping, and testing stage. In this sequence, Ungrammary's 2 squads ran continuous sprints for about 8 months.

The primary project involved 02 resources. Subsequent projects has resulted in us working with 08-10 distinct resources design and engineering resources from Ungrammary.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The primary project of this review involved objective user testing stage that was run by independent teams. The designs delivered by Ungrammary also went through this process and had a high success rate. We also periodically showcase our internal projects to Apple's international design review team.

During a particular review, we also showcased the designs and animations created by Ungrammary for a another project for us. The Apple's review team had also appreciated this project for its aesthetic sense.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It is good. We have a central design system and repository using which the designs are made. Their designers work with our product and design team and build the design using the central design system. Due to the well-established process, the workflow is efficient.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It is uncommon to find an agency partner that has full-stack design skills that spanning effectively across strategy, UX, UI, animation, and front-end development. Ungrammary's ability to capture all of the above is definitely remarkable. They come with a positive attitude to the project. They are good at taking feedback and executing on it.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While there is always room for improvement and up-skilling in our industry, the attitude and performance of Ungrammary has been overall very positive.

We onboarded Ungrammary as our UX/UI design partner. Their role was to re-design our existing product and website and create a structured design system. We already had a version of our product in place, but we wanted to simplify our navigation, look and feel, with new features getting added to the mix as well. We needed a design system in place for a faster development cycle.

We learned about them through a startup community, where they had already worked and demonstrated promising results with other companies. They had relevant UX/UI work experience in the SAAS domain. Hence, we decided to go with them.

The project started with the redesign our existing product dashboard and create a scalable design system. Eventually it also extended to redoing our website. They started with a complete evaluation of the platform and understanding the product and customer use cases from us. This was followed by the restructuring of global and local navigations. They defined our page layouts and created a design system for us. After completing the design system, they initiated the design module by module, following an agile process with our development and product team. Similar method was followed for the website. Our team provided them with inputs regarding our audience, existing analytics, new website copy, expectations from redesign, etc. And Ungrammary executed that following a great process.

A total of 5 resources were deployed from the ungrammary's team at various project stages. 2 UX specialists created the UX layout and design system. Later, a UX manager led the module designs with 2 UI/UX designers

We are happy with the design outcome. The new designs are clean and well structured in terms of information accessibility. Our customers are also loving the new layout and that it makes a lot of tasks easier for them.

We communicated with Ungrammary over video calls, emails and phone calls (few). The team shared design files or their inputs with us, and reciprocated well to our feedback and came up with the right solutions based on that. The collaboration between our team and Ungrammary was productive.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We felt comfortable working with them as if they were our extended in-house team. We worked like one team to achieve a common goal. The turnaround time is good, and the fact that they are open to feedback and also come back with suggestions for best UX practices.

Given the complexity of the project, they did a good job. No complaints. Look to work with them in the future as well.

We hired Ungrammary for our smart product’s (IoT) application design. We had an application design that was put together by in-house engineers to test the logic and functioning of the devices. But for a large-scale launch of the products, we decided to bring a UX UI specialist agency to design the App.

We found Ungrammary through Google search (Clutch). We saw their profile and it interested us. Later we connected with them, saw a few of their projects and the work process. We liked their process and therefore hired them.

The project was to design an IoT Application. We have a product range of smart devices such as smart casseroles, tiffin, water bottles. We wanted to design an application from which all the products could be managed and scheduled. Below are the different stages of the project:

• User flow design: They shared with us a detailed user journey diagram that with the decision diamonds. It helps us understand the various journeys possible from a point. For example, the journey when a product is successfully connected with the App vs when it is not connected.
• Wireframe design: After the user flow was finalized and approved by our management and tech team, we received the wireframes design.
• UI Mockups: Ungrammary created a consistent design language and converted the wireframes to the final design mockups
• Micro-interactions: As the last step, micro-interactions were added to the mockup Components and Design Handoff to tech team

We worked with three team members. One Sr. UX designer, a project manager, and a UI designer. Apart from that a micro-interaction designer and a visual designer also worked on the project but we didn’t interact with them.

Timely completion and handover of the project. Ungrammary team is supporting us in the development phase as well. Hopefully, the project would get live in two months.

We had a smooth workflow. A timeline for the project was shared with us at the starting, And everyone try to chase the shared timeline. We talked mostly over the tools to provide feedback. Apart from that, we had meetings once a week to go check the progress.

I think their process. We didn’t feel confused at any step since everything was written, marked, and managed properly. It was easy for us to provide feedback at each step.

The project has three product designs:

• Client facing mobile app UX/UI design
• Web app for Legal Practitioners (Attorneys, Paralegal etc)

From user journeys to Information Architecture, and mockup design was required as the final deliverables. For the other two apps, the V1 version was already live. The requirement here was to enhance and uplift the current UX/UI design.

We are in the process of launching V1 of the Client mobile app. The three app designs were completed in the expected timeline, with great coordination & collaboration.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was well structured. We had a weekly meeting with the project manager to map the progress made and the plan ahead. Apart from that we maintained and tracked the progress using a shared spreadsheet and collaboration was through Slack messaging channel.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It was easy to collaborate and work with them. In the past, we hired an agency but it was not a delightful experience. The agency was not reciprocative due to which we lost our faith in that agency. But working with Ungrammary was smooth and we were able to make timely progress in our launch plans. Best thing is the value of trust and reciprocation with proactive communication to resolve any pending issues on timely basis.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Very few times I felt, if the work of Junior designers went through their own internal review, before being delivered for our review, it could have saved some time. Nevertheless, proactive communication & smooth coordination did not make the issue escalate.
