What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? Our objective was to create an organic film that captured the attention of our ICP (it’s noisy out there!), position ourselves as the brand that understands and solves for client demands, and do it in a way that is REALLY hard to ignore. The video is still a force to be reckoned with, and our first brand play in a long-term strategy, but the result so far? We created the single best performing piece of content in the company’s 16 year history. Some other early wins for 'The Client'2.3million video views (so far!) in 8 weeks - LinkedIn + YouTube7.5M impressions in 8 weeksMarket beating engagement on LinkedIn - 17.85% engagement rate in first 24hrs against benchmark of 2.6%'Viral' engagement on LinkedIn: Reposts, Comments etc!FREE System1 testing - Refered to by their SVP as "The most creative B2B ad I've ever seen" and rating as category beating for long-term growth + short term sales impact in B2BAudience growth +3% in first 30 days4M PR impressions in first two weeksSome direct leads and pipeline! (too early to capture full impact) Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?I can’t say enough good things about Umault. Partnering with them on ‘The Client’ will go down as one of the best briefs and pieces of work I’ve ever been a part of. They are the most efficient team I have ever worked with - never missing a deadline, but also fully optimising the feedback process to suit time zones, recording additional context videos to guide the decks, total ease of communication etc. It was best-in-class project management but now I'll struggle with anything less than Umault going forward - so I'm tainted :D Guy was incredibly responsive, always, and also acted as a true partner and sounding board when it came to some internal selling of the concept!  What was your primary form of communication with Umault?Virtual MeetingEmail or Messaging AppWhat did you find most impressive or unique about this company? From the first kick-off session, I knew we had found an incredible partner. Guy just gets it. He has a relentless empathy for the audience and what they will and won’t care about, he understands the challenges B2B brands face, and most importantly, he understood the challenges internal brand teams face in getting risky work across the line. He pre-empts everything in his proposals and it's truly impressive. He pushes back the right amount while being considerate of the ask of the business. That’s why Umault constantly makes work that works. What also stood out to me was their smart business model. That really made it easier for us to be able to work with them. It's just Guy and Jennifer - they produced Hollywood-quality work in a short time at a cost that didn't get eyebrow raises from leadership. It's a sweet spot and it works for them and their clients! Kudos to them. Are there any areas for improvement or something Umault could have done differently? No. Truly. I have never be so impressed with a vendor, and I've been in this business 17 years! Umault make magic happen.

Please include a summary of key deliverables.Umault created two amazing videos for us. The first was a 'scroll stopper' to catch our customers attention on crowded social media platforms. Building a short spot that not only catches people and gets them to stop and watch, but it has to be laser focused on finding our customers and separating us from the competition. The spot they created was so brilliant that it not only catches people with a simple, funny and engaging visual, but it also slams home the single, clear problem that we solve. Lumpy cash flow. If you have it, you know it. If you don't, you move on.The second spot is fed to the people that watched the first. It’s a more concrete ‘how we help you’ type of video. **The Review** — Nov 15, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Umault's work has been instrumental in helping the client improve their online presence. They meet deadlines and budgets and even over-deliver in terms of the number of deliverables. The client also praises Umault's commitment to filmmaking, distinguishing them from other providers.
"''I feel like I’m getting more than what I’ve paid.''"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of Integro Builders, a custom builder. We perform major renovations in historic homes, construction of new homes, and commercial interiors.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

We needed help with video production for our branding videos, which we wanted to use on our website and social media channels.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Umault does video production for us; they’re creating material that shows potential clients what we do as a company. They started by coming in, analyzing what we wanted to do, and assessing our market — their team has a completely original process focused on my particular audience to appeal to them. Regarding their tasks, they’re responsible for handling all the filmmaking, which includes establishing the audience, creating the storyboards, managing the shots and postproduction, and hiring the directors and actors.

In addition, they’ve given us multiple video formats for different social media platforms.

What is the team composition?

We’ve been working with Guy (Owner), a project manager, a director, the lightning and filming crew, and an actor.

How did you come to work with Umault?

I’ve worked with Guy on previous projects, and I didn’t hesitate to engage with him for this new project.

How much money have you invested in this partnership?

For this project, we’ve spent around $50,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve published the video on our site, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. The process has been fantastic, and our website has improved greatly thanks to the material they’ve created for us. Overall, our company’s brand and online presence wouldn’t be the same without Umalt’s video production work. Moreover, they volunteered to do two more videos for us despite agreeing on just one.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

Their process is excellent, and I don’t think they have competition due to their unmatched emotion that is derived from their filmmaking. Their team has a unique and high-quality ability to deliver a final product which is not just a video production, it's cinematography.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their process is excellent, and I don’t think they have competition due to their unmatched emotion and commitment to filmmaking. Their team has a unique and high-quality ability to deliver a final product with a cinematography rate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their video formatting is less conducive to social media than it is to websites.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Hire them today!

VP Solutions Marketing, Conversational AI Company
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 10,001+ Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Feb 4, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Through their creative translation of universal experiences, Umault produced a video that resonated across customers, social media viewers, and the client’s own employees. The team flexibly navigated through pandemic restrictions to perfect the final product while keeping the client in the loop.
"“Umault’s approach and vision were very unique. They were phenomenal.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of solution product marketing for a conversational AI company. We sell into different industries, with healthcare being our primary focus. For that particular space, we provide physician and patient solutions. We also provide enterprise-level customer care and customer engagement solutions to brands in the financial services, telecommunications, retail, and government sector.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

We wanted to refresh the messaging and positioning of our enterprise solutions portfolio through a video. A typical corporate video seemed a bit dry, so we needed a creative approach to could really tease out the pain points that resonate with our audiences and buyers. Since we’re doing B2B sales, we also wanted this video to be more B2C-focused so that it has a more mainstream feel to it.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We approached Umault with our high-level requirements. We already had a messaging structure and a general narrative ready, and their team helped us creatively translate that into video form. They developed a script that addressed user pain points with our solutions, such as long hold times and fraud alerts from the voice biometrics and security system.

One of the challenges that we faced was with filming in the middle of the pandemic. We wanted the final piece to have some longevity beyond COVID-19, so we were debating filming the cast without masks on. Umault walked us through different options and was able to pull off an in-person, multi-day shoot.

In the end, they came up with a flagship piece, which our employees refered to as our Super Bowl ad. Their team cut it up and created three versions of it for different purposes. They also rendered everything in five different languages in order to localize the videos.

What is the team composition?

We mainly interacted with Guy (Founder & Creative Director) who led the production process. There was also a pretty small team behind him.

How did you come to work with Umault?

Umault had done such beautiful work for us in the past, but that was all concerning our healthcare space-focused solutions. We sought their services again for the enterprise side of our business since we already knew they were the right choice for this project.

How much have you invested with them?

All in all, everything cost around $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in October 2020 and we finalized the product around the end of February 2021. There were small additional pieces, such as the localization, that went 2–3 months beyond February 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The feedback was twofold. For one, we heard customers — either through direct sales or through different social channels — say that that video was the best company piece we’d ever put out. There were testimonials about how true and resonant our message was to customers’ real-life experiences.

For another, the final piece had such a mainstream appeal even for non-buyers. Our own employees got a boost of morale from it and started to share it with their families and friends. It really helped them explain to their network what they were doing at our company, and Umault’s script and cinematography were a large part of that.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management was so completely awesome. They were very good at sticking to the timeline. When some conflict would come up on our side, they remained flexible and nimble enough to adjust. Our communication was great as well; we had regular check-ins and reviews where we provided feedback.

During filming, they set up a live feed in order for us to dial in on what they were doing. We couldn’t work with them on-site because of travel restrictions, so that was a really great way for us to be able to participate in the production.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve done a ton of projects with different companies, but Umault’s approach and vision were very unique. They were phenomenal.

I started working with them several years ago, through one of my colleagues at the time. She’d also worked with them on past videos as well. She connected me with them when it was time to implement an update on one of our existing videos. I’ve since relied on them for multiple projects.

How much have you invested with them?

I believe that that particular project cost around $37,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

That particular project lasted between May–July of 2020. We’ve collaborated with them on around 4 different projects in total.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The service and output I’ve received have definitely aligned with what I expect. It’s clear that the Umault team puts a lot of thought into their work before they deliver it. I’m so comfortable working with them that I feel comfortable enough to bring my key stakeholders onto calls with them. I can allow them to get a first look at things because I know Umault will represent us well with the quality they can bring to the table.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

We primarily communicate via email and conference calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were great and very upfront about what days and times would work. They accommodated us whenever we had some challenging schedules to line up. They’d typically beat their deadlines to us on most items. I enjoy working with them because they’re just so on top of it. I don’t have to worry or feel like I have to provide oversight at all.

They’re also very easy to get along with. When we’re on calls together, it’s never a stiff environment, but rather a free-flowing conversation. They’re open to ideas and don’t shoot us down immediately, despite us not being the creative ones. They bring you into their brainstorming process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think that the biggest challenge is coming to an agreement about the pricing; I know that they’ve shifted their pricing model over the last year or so. They’ve expanded their scope of services to incorporate a more strategic approach to their video production. We’re tasked with making sure that all of our stakeholders understand what goes into making a video, which can be a struggle.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The more prepared you are before you enter the engagement, the easier, faster, and smoother the process will be. It also prevents surprises, because they’re going to know upfront what your expectations are regarding the video.

"“They did a great job sticking to deadlines and turning the project around quickly.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work at a large management consulting firm and I am a part of our alliances marketing team, working with our large technology alliance relationships. I’m an alliance marketing consultant, and my job is to promote the work that my management consulting firm does with other tech vendors.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

The goal was to increase interest in a specific technology solution that we have. It's a government focused solution around Medicaid. And the goal was to provide an overview of the solution and the benefits that it delivers in order to increase pipeline for that solution.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Their scope of involvement and work was acting as a video agency and vendor to create the video itself.

They worked with me, our marketing lead and our client implementation team to strategize the videos. Then they actually went ahead and created the video itself. They did all of the development work for the video camera.

Initially, they provided us with three different concept and we chose an animated concept. First came scripting and then they worked through storyboarding with us. They provided us with two rounds of revisions. Then they did the animation and voiceover and brought it all together.

What is the team composition?

We worked with an account manager, and the CEO & president.

How did you come to work with Umault?

We’ve worked with them on several engagements before and they’ve done a stellar job. They take complex projects and they’re able to make it appealing in a visual format.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from May–July 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our account team uses the videos to engage and sell to clients. They’re also very familiar with work we’ve done with Umault in the past, and they claimed that this was the best product they’ve seen. Overall, they’re very pleased and are looking forward to integrating it into their lead generation activities. They listened to every direction we gave in terms of project guidelines.

For me, it was definitely a win. I’m excited to be able to leverage the video from a marketing perspective. It’s a great example of various teams coming together and we’re excited to engage with it.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s top-notch. Our account manager is communicative. She is very clear and concise about what she needs from my team. That made it easy for us to set expectations and guidelines for our stakeholders. They did a great job sticking to deadlines and turning the project around quickly.

The process was very smooth. The Umault team is very easy to work with and professional. We were working together during the COVID-19 era, and people needed to take time off. Nevertheless, there were no bumps in the road.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to take complex processes and bring them to life in a  way that’s ways to understand, is engaging, and visually interesting. Marketing our technology can be a challenge, but we like working with Umault because they bring our work to life in a unique way. It highlights how our technology is impactful for clients.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything specific to say about this project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Clients should come prepared with an organized brief and understand what key points they want to get across.

""Their eye for film quality aligns well with what clients are looking for."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the SVP of a brand agency. I handle all of the creative strategy.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

We needed to do a 30-second TV spot by bringing a storyboard concept to life.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

It was a TV spot for one of our healthcare clients located on the West Coast. We met with Umault to discuss the storyboards, our vision for the project, background on the client, and objectives we were trying to achieve. We looked to them to provide the director, producer, and the logistics and coordination of the shoot.

The shoot took place over several days in Los Angeles.

What is the team composition?

We pretty much worked with the producer to coordinate the logistics. Guy (Founder & Creative Director) was engaged throughout the entire process from storyboard review to logistics. On the actual shoot days, Guy also served as the director.

How did you come to work with Umault?

One of our colleagues used their services at a different firm. As part of our standard process, we look at who has the best creative capability, technology, likability, and workability. Through that evaluation process, we settled on Umault.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $125,000–$140,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from January–February 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The TV spot was executed the way we hoped it to be. From a creative standpoint, we were pleased with the cinematography and quality. We were pleased with how the logistics went. Some natural surprises came up during the shoot, and those were well-managed. Ultimately, the client was also happy with it.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very thorough and detailed. We appreciated their responsiveness as well. Guy brought his own vision and ideas, which we appreciated. The team collaborated well, listening to any creative concerns we had. We found a good, happy ground.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with their storytelling. Their eye for film quality aligns well with what clients are looking for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should continue to listen and work to incorporate creative ideas from the clients a bit more.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a solid storyboard upfront. Clearly communicate what you’re looking to get out of the project. Any client insight is helpful to them.

**Feedback Summary**: The partner is extremely pleased with the deliverables and its direct impact on client retention. The Umault team is punctual and organized. They're masters of their craft and know how to make the filming process comfortable for all parties involved. Trustworthiness is a hallmark of their work.
"“They’ll give you more than what you’re asking for, and they’re a pleasure to work with.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of CGI Interactive.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

We build custom presentations and create animated videos for a wide range of clients in the area of interactive communications. In many cases, they want shot videos. This includes a camera and crew that shoots the talent the client may bring to the team. Often times, it’s people who work at their company.

We do animated videos in-house, but we don’t do shot videos. If our client wants a shot video, we subcontract that out to Umault because that's their expertise.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Guy (Founder and Creative Director) and his team come with a brain, and that’s why our clients hire us. Our clients have a good idea of what they want to say and get across. But they’re looking to do it in a different way. They bring us on to get it done but do so from a different perspective from their internal thoughts. Umault comes prepared to do something different. Many of the shot videos are product videos for our tech clients. One is a large data storage company.

What is the team composition?

We work with an executive creative director, assistant creative director, and an assortment of supporting crew members.

How did you come to work with Umault?

One of my account managers was tasked to find a vendor. I left it up to her to look for three or four different vendors, and Umault was one of them. We held video and phone calls with them. Although they’re in Chicago and we’re in Boston, trust came through the telephone sessions when we spoke to Guy. We were also impressed with the samples of his work. His work is different and unique. There were many small details that made big differences.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $250,000–$500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in January 2012.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The biggest metric for success is that our clients come back to us. They love the work that we’re doing. What's more, Guy has been so trustworthy. Trust, to me, is the utmost importance in a partnership. There are small projects that have required travel.

We allow Guy to run a project without us being there, and he represents our company when we’re not even on-site. I trust that he’s going to do a professional job. He successfully implements the ideas we need to be done without us being present.

Guy has a wonderful way of interviewing; he helps the interviewee loosen up and get comfortable. He has a great way of getting the conversation started as well as a gift for getting answers without making people feel as if they’re reading from a script or memorization.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

They do a phenomenal job with project management. Every time there’s a new edit or something out of the scope that the client requests, we immediately get pricing from their team. They always stick to the budget.

Umault does their homework ahead of time as well as is always prepared for meetings and shoots. From the moment they pull up, they know exactly where they’re going in the building. Their team follows a tight schedule and carefully laid-out plan. Guy’s a master of making people feel comfortable, and he respects their time as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They just get it. They understand technology. We don’t have to reinvent the wheel for every single client. Their team understands all sorts of tech solutions as well as the best ways of getting that on video.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything. I’m very happy with the way they perform for us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Do your homework. Be clear and honest about what you’re after as well as your budget. And then trust them. They’re a creative agency, not just five people with a camera. They’ll give you more than what you’re asking for, and they’re a pleasure to work with.

**Feedback Summary**: The videos garnered widespread praise for the client, becoming an integral part of their brand. Umault has added value since the RFP process, collaborating alongside the client to shape each shoot and project. Professionalism, timeliness, and proactive thinking make for a seamless partnership.
""Working with Umault has been one of the best professional partnerships that I’ve had in my career."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the chief marketing engagement officer at IMPACTS Experience. We’re a data company that works with cultural organizations: zoos, aquariums, museums, and performing arts groups.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

We have a platform that functions as a blog. Its following was growing, and we received requests for videos that our clients and entities could watch and share at staff and board meetings

We were looking for a video production company to create engaging, easily understandable videos for a sophisticated, executive leadership audience.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Umault produced 74 videos over 11 rounds of shoots. Each video is up to three minutes long. We did the filming at a studio in Chicago. Using a blank background, Umault created engaging illustrations to make our data make sense and tell its story. The videos are embedded in our website where executive leadership teams can access it.

What is the team composition?

The team has changed over time. At any given shoot, we work closely with a producer and a revolving team of five people who work as directors, sound editors, editors, and more.

What’s been really important to me from the beginning is that Guy (Founder / Creative Director) is very involved in every round of videos. He’s not always there in person, but we still feel like we have his support and he cares about the outcome. When we have creative conversations, he’s on the line or informed afterward. Even as the team changed for each shoot, Guy and the company values have remained consistent.

How did you come to work with Umault?

We put out an RFP to six video production companies. We were looking for longer videos at the time. Umault was the only one who responded back saying, “We have a better idea than what you’re requesting.” It was a risk that they took, but a smart one. The minute we read their strategy, we knew it was going to be more successful than. Their ability to think creatively while keeping in mind what we originally asked for is interwoven in their work, and so is their expertise to execute on their solutions.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $170,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in 2015. Our first video went up in August, so we likely started working together in early summer. We work with them round by round. We film 5–8 videos at a time; the number grew as we became more efficient. When we reach out to them for a new round, we’ll have a call to talk about our creative decisions, the number of videos we needed, and any changes we want to make from the previous round.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We get incredible feedback from the videos. When I’d go to keynotes and speaking engagements, people will more often compliment our videos even though that’s not the majority of our content — which is charts, graphs, and other documents. It’s one thing to speak about data, and another thing to have the data illustrated and the charts come to life. The videos created by Umault have become an important part of our brand that people closely identify with.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m not exaggerating when I say that working with Umault has been one of the best professional partnerships that I’ve had in my career. Organized and friendly, they help you think of ideas better than your own, and they aren’t afraid to tell you. They hold to deadlines very well and remain conscientious of our goals. That’s been in clear in the whole process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

First, Umault’s attention to helping us achieve our goals has really blown me away. They will change the background and make things more professional as things evolve. If I have any technical issues, they will help me even if it’s not part of their engagement. They do the details that help us make sure that things are a success.

Second, Umault is incredibly easy and professional to work with. They get back to us, use timelines, and have a level of expertise that they deploy and stand by.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing comes to my head immediately. We’ve been very pleased with our partnership with Umault.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be open to their expertise; they’re helpful in providing an outside perspective. They keep me from lapsing into jargon that’s unnecessary or inaccessible. They also have ideas that are better than mine at communicating things. That’s been very valuable.

""The piece they created was powerful and well-done."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We work in the technology sector, providing AI solutions for thousands of organizations globally across healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, government, and retail – to create stronger relationships and better experiences for their customers and workforce.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

They produced a marketing video to promote one of our newest solutions for the healthcare industry. The product is an AI-powered voice-enabled technology that uses ambient sensing technology to securely listen to clinician-patient encounter conversations and automatically writes medical documentation.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They made a three-minute video showcasing testimonials from several satisfied customers. We didn’t want it to feel like a traditional corporate product advertisement or testimonial video. They used a unique style that felt more natural, raw, and in-depth. This piece was a flagship of our product launch and we included this video as part of our press release and distributed it through our web assets and various social channels.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a team of three people who came to all of the shoots.

How did you come to work with Umault?

We worked with them previously on another project. We were happy with their work and wanted to partner with them again.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them on this project in October 2019, and we released the video this February.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The piece they created was powerful and well-done. Multiple in-house employees have reached out and told me that it makes them proud to be a part of our company. The video really got to the core of why we developed this product– to reinvent the relationship between the physician and patient. It has an emotional impact on the viewer.

Physicians and hospital administrators have also given us great feedback about the video and said that it resonates with them. This is the proudest I’ve ever been of a video we’ve produced.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

They provide exactly what you would expect from an agency. We laid out a timeline, and they were able to stick to it. They were also flexible with shoots. One of the physicians we were featuring had limited availability, but they were very accommodating. They helped us set realistic expectations and had excellent project management skills.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It feels like I’m working with friends. The experience was is so enjoyable, it didn’t feel like I was at work when we were doing shoots together. They also did an excellent job explaining their process and technique. Everything went smoothly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really. I’ve yet to be disappointed with any of their work.

**Feedback Summary**: The media garnered hundreds of thousands of views, sparking substantial engagement and inquiries. Umault goes beyond traditional storytelling to deliver rich, experiential content with a focus on cinematography. They are highly attentive, personable, and communicative.
""The team has been phenomenal at helping us format and deliver a message that’s very powerful for people to receive."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the executive director of the center for integrated research at one of the largest professional services firms in the world. We have leading positions in consulting, audit, tax, risk and financial advisory. We serve most of the largest and most important firms in the world.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

We conduct research in a wide variety of domains. These areas include technology, like the cloud and artificial intelligence, along with more conceptual areas like the future of work and industry 4.0. When we do this, we need to adopt a multi-channel strategy for getting those ideas out into the world.

The Umault team was brought on to produce high-quality video and educational content that we use to reach our clients and the public sector.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

One project was for a collaboration with a manufacturing innovation institute. It was focused on “digital thread,” defined as the seamless strand of data and computing that stretches from the initial conception of a new product through to the end of its life.

We did all the research, and Guy helped us turn that message into a rich, eight-part video series that tells the story of digital thread through a specific use case (a single component of an airplane).

The Umault team focused on the cinematic quality, trying to create a very experiential vibe for when we visited the site and interviewed people.

I’m not an actor, but they were able to make me the central figure of the video and help me understand how to succeed. They helped me tell the story, edited the raw footage, and turned it into the final product.

What is the team composition?

There were about a dozen people on his team that we interfaced with at different times. We worked with a producer, a number of videographers, sound specialists, and a backup artist. There was an editorial team back at their office. Guy did a great job of introducing me to the team and helping me understand each of their roles.

How did you come to work with Umault?

Guy was recommended to me by someone on our staff who had worked with him in the past. She was aware of his team’s talents, and she introduced us for our first project (a 25-part online course on additive manufacturing).

By the time we got to this project, we had a track record with his team that gave us high confidence in their abilities.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2013, and Umault continues to do ongoing work for our firm in other areas.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The team has been phenomenal at helping us format and deliver a message that’s very powerful for people to receive.

They created a masterpiece that I’m personally proud of. More importantly, it’s had a dramatic impact on our audiences, substantially more views than the platform we launched it on usually sees. There were hundreds of thousands of visitors on the site and inquiries.

People have stopped me at trade shows and congratulated us on the content we created. It’s being used by academic programs and by governments. It was a tremendous outcome — but it was easy to achieve because Umault has it together.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is a non-issue, and that’s the biggest compliment that I can offer.

It was a terrific experience. They walked us through the storyboard process and helped us block out episodes. They were great collaborators. They did a masterful job of editing the video and directing it.

They are very organized on-site, and they do a great job of laying things out in advance. Guy seems to treat his people extremely well. They appear very happy working with him.

The communication is excellent, and they always tell us what they need. They deliver on the deadlines they’ve set, even if we have to put a rush on things.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I would endorse working with them without hesitation. They’re worth the cost. They turnaround results quickly, they’re respectful of our time, and they deliver a great product.

Over the years, I’ve learned that if Guy tells me to do something, I do it. I always make the joke that “I was there when it was filmed, so I know how bad I was.” But, he is not going to let me look bad.

Guy has a soft touch as a director, so he helped me feel better when I was frustrated or not communicating clearly. Somehow, the team always turns the footage into work that I’m personally, really proud of.

The team delivers a strong narrative backed by rich video content that moves away from the “talking head” or voiceover PowerPoint I see in many other videos. The content is accessible and interesting to our audience. This differentiates the team from others.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any major criticisms. He is the best outfit I’ve ever worked with. His team does everything they can to deliver a high-quality product.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Potential customers should trust them — they are professionals. Guy’s vision may be more nuanced than yours based on their experience, so make sure to communicate if you’re uncomfortable. If you have a vision of your own, tell them, and they’ll work with you. Also, make sure your work is done because their success depends on your efforts as well.

We sought out Umault for a full-scale minute long professional video, complete with high-quality footage, models/actors, voice-overs, special effects and post-production. Umault beat out three other firms to win the bid.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a video that was not necessarily an overt commercial for OPTO. With all the attention placed on online retail and e-commerce these days, we wanted to create a piece that championed brick-and-mortar retail, and reminded people to, once in a while, stop "searching", and start LOOKING. We wanted to capture those magical moments that can happen at your local shops and boutiques. Great retail is everywhere!

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We sent the RFP out to four different companies. We chose Umault for a couple reasons: their RFP response aligned very closely to what we were looking for (along with a very impressive presentation), and they also had done the most work related to the sort of B2B work that we do.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

The video was a minute long, and features a group of vignettes of customers' various experiences of at local retail stores. Even though the video is short, the viewer develops relationships and empathy with the characters as the film's narrative intermingles the vignettes throughout its sequence. Umault began by sending us some concept choices for the story that the video would tell. Once we agreed on one, they created a treatment and accompanying storyboards for us to review. They then began recruiting actors (for on-screen and voice-overs) as well as setting up filming locations, keeping us informed of the progress, and any problems that came up. We then conducted the shoot at the various locations, with a few representatives of OPTO on-hand for creative consultation. We then went through several rounds of edits until we arrived at a final film that everyone was extremely satisfied with.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

The project management was exceptional. We were aware of any given day where we were with the process. And the pacing of the project was perfectly reasonable. In fact, we needed to hold our own feet to the fire to ensure that we gave them feedback on a timely basis so that we would not hold them up!

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were not looking for direct R.O.I. for this video - again, it wasn't a true commercial advertising OPTO. We just wanted to spread it around as much as we could during the holiday season of 2017. This consisted of adding it to our YouTube and Vimeo channels, boosting the video on Facebook, and sharing it as a trailer at all presentations we were doing at conferences and at clients headquarters at the time.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. I do not remember any issues at all.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We had never worked with a professional video production company before to this degree. So we were very impressed with the resourcefulness of the company. The ease through which they pulled all the components together (script, storyboard, actors, narrators, settings, props, equipment) into a tangible finished product. It was a true joy to see a project for such a collaborative but complex medium come to life from concept to completion.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No issues that I can recall. I would not hesitate one bit to work with Umault again.

**The Review** — Oct 10, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: One of the videos played a key part in a 24-hour campaign that raised over $10,000—a huge success for the client. Umault delivered high-quality videos that conveyed the client’s message and were turned around promptly. Excellent communication and time management contributed to a smooth workflow.
""Umault will really dig into your company’s identity, goals, and audience to find the best way to convey your message."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the senior marketing manager for the American Planning Association. We are a professional association for urban planners, regional planners, and community development professionals. We have a certification for professional planners as well as a charitable foundation, which does scholarships and other types of community assistance.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

We engaged with Umault to create two videos: one for our charitable foundation and one for our certification program.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our foundation had recently been relaunched and was starting from scratch in building brand awareness. Our goal for the foundation video was to emotionally engage potential donors with our mission and vision, encouraging them to support our cause. Umault pieced together stock footage based on a script we developed as a team.

For the second video, we wanted to increase awareness about our planner certification program with the organizations that hire planners—private sector companies, municipalities, and government bodies. That way, this credential will be in higher demand, encouraging more planners to sign up for the program and more employers to hire certified planners. The video involved onsite shoots and interviews led by Guy (CEO / Creative Director, Umault) to speak to the value of the certification.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a handful of people on both projects. I talked and worked mostly with Guy in each case.

How did you come to work with Umault?

Someone from my organization had worked with Guy before, and we had a history of successful partnerships with their team. We did consider other video production companies for this project. However, Umault won our RFP with a really thoughtful proposal that was tailored to our project and brought some great ideas to the table right away. That level of care stood out from the pack, and we ended up going with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $30,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first project wrapped in April 2018, while the second one finished in January 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve shared the videos to our website, social media channels, and a few of our email blasts. The foundation video became part of a brand-new 24-hour campaign to push for donations, and we raised over $10,000—more than we’ve ever made in six months, let alone 24 hours. We leveraged that video again for this year’s campaign and raised a good amount of money once more. I do think the video was a pretty critical part of our success. We hope to work with Umault again whenever we have the budget and need for another video project.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

Umault did an excellent job managing timelines. We had a really tight turnaround for each project, but their team hit every single deadline. They kept us on track, which was an especially hard task given that our organization required lots of people to provide their feedback. Each deadline Umault set for us was realistic and achievable while nudging us enough to get the project done on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Umault will really dig into your company’s identity, goals, and audience to find the best way to convey your message. That might be an animated video, a documentary-style video, or a video compiled from stock footage and a compelling script. Their team was excellent at using the tools they had available to find the right fit for our organization and audience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't have any suggestions on that front; I absolutely loved working with them. Should my budget ever allow, I would be happy to work with them again.

Any advice for potential customers?

In your initial conversations, take the time to describe your organization and its identity and values. The more Umault knows about you and your audience, the better their work will ultimately be.

**Feedback Summary**: The final video left the internal team completely satisfied. It was met with excitement and high praise. As for Umault’s performance, they were an easy partner to work with and capable of bringing unique ideas to the table. Their expertise and deep involvement were valuable.
""They used their creativity to convey our message while coming up with clever solutions during production."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a senior manager within the consulting practice at a professional services firm.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

We reached out to Umault to create a marketing video for our commercial purposes.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We gave their team some written materials, like white papers and some of our in-house materials like PowerPoint decks. Once Umault was more familiar with what we provide our clients and our vision for the video, they began working on the ideation phase. We went back and forth on different ideas, and they informed us about any limitations we could potentially face. They worked with our marketing and legal teams to make sure all the specific requirements were met.

From there, their team provided full-scale video creation, including post-production editing and audio tasks. At the end, they delivered a completed video around two minutes in length.

What is the team composition?

I’m unsure of how many total people worked on the project, but we had two main points of contact. Tory (Head of Client Services & Account Director, Umault) and Guy (CEO & Creative Director, Umault) worked with us directly. On production day, they provided a director, production assistant, and all the actors, as well.

How did you come to work with Umault?

One of our marketing managers had worked with them on a previous marketing video and had a great experience, so we followed that recommendation to use them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $40,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from roughly April–July 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I was a really big fan of the final product. The video turned out great and Umault understood exactly the message we were trying to convey. Our internal team had nothing but positive remarks about the video. People were very excited about the launch of the final product and viewed it as one of the best videos we’ve ever produced.  We were very happy with the work Umault delivered and our engagement overall.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

They were really easy to work with and we enjoyed working together. Umault was receptive to any feedback we gave them and they helped us fully flesh out our idea. Their patience was great, especially when they taught us about the video production process and ensuring we were comfortable. They came up with ideas we hadn’t even thought about and incorporated our feedback into the work. Our communication was really smooth, crisp, and clear between the teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I found their ability to compellingly tell our story to be very impressive. They used their creativity to convey our message while coming up with clever solutions during production. For example, they knew to change the angles or lighting to subtly convey different messages to our viewer, which was really great. Overall, the work they did came out well because of this skill.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I honestly can’t think of any way for them to improve. They were an efficient and effective partner.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust the experts to do what they do best. We thought we’d have to come up with the script and storytelling ideas, but it was better for us to focus on the message and allow Umault to do their job. Let them help you come up with even better concepts than you originally had.

The team leads were involved and responsive, building a robust foundation of trust with the client from the beginning.
""It was clear that they did their homework, which blew us away and will keep us coming back."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a creative director at a healthcare technology company called Waystar. We provide next-generation, cloud-based technology that simplifies and unifies the healthcare revenue cycle. Our platform removes friction in payment processes, streamlines workflows and improves financials for providers in every care setting.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Umault?

We hired Umault to create a short film taking an emotional look at the impact people in healthcare can have on their patients and business when their RCM is a well-oiled machine. This spot shows what life in revenue preventative care can look like.

What were your goals for this project?

Our target audience and message is complex. We needed a simple and emotional story to tell to help us drive awareness amongst CFOs and other finance executives at hospitals and health systems. We also needed to drive new lead generation for our sales efforts.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We needed a strategic partner that would help us craft our message in a meaningful way. Umault's portfolio showed this kind of thinking. They also had unique B2B clients who's messages resonated with our team. Unlike other video production companies we approached, Umault offered us a SOW just for the strategy of the video.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

Umault presented us a unique strategy for our video. This included setting objectives, where it fell within our sales funnel, a competitive audit, targeted our segments and stakeholders, developed a creative brief, timeline and schedule for production.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We worked directly with Guy Bauer and Tory Merrit the entire process. Both were very engaged and responsive to any constructive critique. The trust that our team had built with them was strong from the begining.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

It was clear that they truly listened to our feedback and adapted their concepts without losing the authenticity of the original concept.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. great communication and open candor.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The thoughtfulness of the learning our business from the get go. It was clear that they did their homework, which blew us away and will keep us coming back.

Are there any areas for improvement?

None that we can see thus far.

**Feedback Summary**: Their videos have proven instrumental for digital advertising purposes and in presentations. Umault’s work has received positive feedback internally. They’re a transparent and knowledgeable team that offers thoughtful solutions.
""They’ve been a great partner for us."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

James Hardie is an international building materials manufacturer with headquarters in Chicago and operations around the globe. My job is to oversee our digital marketing and content creation efforts in North America. I’ve been here for about eight years.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Umault?

I’ve been working with Umault for almost the entirety of my time at James Hardie. I think I hired them in my second week on the job to help tell, in an emotional and meaningful way, the value propositions that are going to be important for our brand for both homeowners and our trade audiences.

We sell products B2B and B2C and it's a very low awareness category. We’ve got a lot of explaining to do and we want to do it in a way that appeals to both the head and the heart.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

I can't even count the number of videos that we've worked with Umault on over the years. They've been our go-to video production partner during that time. They’ve worked on not only big, brand-level stories that we tell, but also local and partner marketing efforts that we provide to our builder and contractor partners.

In addition to that, they also helped us with our entire install video series, which was about 60 videos in total. They run the gamut from long-form storytelling to very short, graphics-heavy explainer videos.

We use them pretty consistently and we do a number of videos with them each year. Our involvement ebbs and flows depending on what our needs are each year, but there's certainly not a year that goes by without at least a handful of videos that we work with.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with at least a dozen people there. I have a couple of primary contacts.

How did you come to work with Umault?

I knew someone in the video production space here in Chicago and Umault came highly recommended by that person.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend around $100,000 per year with them across all of our teams.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2012 and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We use most of the videos digitally, so we have a lot of metrics around views, impressions, and engagement that we look at. One of the key KPIs is views, but that's not always the most meaningful one. We leverage their videos for advertising purposes on our website and sales presentations. Umault has developed a really good reputation across our business.

How did Umault perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very transparent with their timelines and with their planning. They take a measure twice, cut once approach. Their documentation of timelines and production books is thorough, both on-site and during the editing process. They’re good about deadline management and communicating their progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The key differentiator with Umault is their strategic partnership approach with their client, which makes it very easy for them to tell meaningful stories with a high degree of efficiency. They take the time upfront to understand what's important to our business and what we're trying to accomplish, and then they come to the table with creative solutions to help get us there. It’s not always the solution that we think when we come in, but that's why we hire them—because they're the experts in that area, not us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything. They’ve been a great partner for us. I hope that they'll continue to do well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that you view them as a strategic partner because that's when they do their best work. Provide them with the business objectives, not just what you're trying to accomplish in the short term.

User response on YouTube and other social media platforms has been uniformly and enthusiastically positive. The versatile deliverable will be repurposed on TV and in outstream and OTT ads.
""Guy Bauer really got excited about our project, and their passion shone through in their work."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the founder of Bear Mattress, an online direct-to-consumer sleep and wellness brand. We sell products including mattresses, pillows, and other sleep accessories geared towards people living an active lifestyle.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Guy Bauer?

We hired Guy Bauer to put together a brand video that could tell our story. We wanted to be able to use it both on our website as well as on social media and as a commercial.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The initial part of the project was a creative storytelling process. First, Guy Bauer presented ideas about the concept for our video. They thoroughly researched our sector to find out what our competitors are doing and discover what our brand is about.

The team provided a fresh perspective to help us brainstorm options. They created storyboards at a very high level to show us what the video might look like. From there, we worked together to narrow down the scope.

When we moved into the actual video production phase, they developed real storyboards and a script. As we moved through the process together step by step. From our side, we let them take the lead.

After producing a minute-long video, they cut it down into shorter segments like 15 and 30 seconds so we could use it across many different platforms.

What is the team composition?

Guy (Founder, Guy Bauer) was involved in every stage of the process. His supporting team consisted of production and casting specialists. They collaborated with us closely the whole time.  They assigned us a production manager to serve as our point person.

How did you come to work with Guy Bauer?

Our creative director did extensive research on different video companies. We were specifically looking in the Chicago area. After talking with each vendor, we ended up filtering out about 5–6 companies.

We chose Guy Bauer based on their previous work and unique approach.  Speaking with him gave us the sense that working with him and his team would be different than what everybody else was doing. We saw a lot of value in the partnership, so we selected them.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost was between $40,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in December 2018 and received the final videos in early March 2019. The timeline lasted about three months from the time we first engaged them to the finished product.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Guy lent his vision and experience to our project every step of the way. I can honestly say that the videos turned out way beyond our expectations. I couldn't have been happier with the results.

So far, the feedback from our users on social media and YouTube has been solid. We're going to take it to more prominent platforms now, and are considering using it on actual TV. We plan to try some outstream and OTT-type advertising with the video.

We had a great experience with Guy Bauer. I thought the research process was especially well-done. They were always on time and delivered every step of the way. All the initial results have been strongly positive.

How did Guy Bauer perform from a project management standpoint?

Guy Bauer worked well with our team. They were extremely organized, timely, and responsive to our questions and feedback.  At least once a week, they sent us status updates and notified us about anything that arose.

The product manager was there to answer our questions. We had weekly phone calls and used email for an ongoing dialogue about anything that we wanted to discuss. Our project manager was copied on every email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Compared to other groups we considered, they bring outstanding innovation to the table. Even though I wasn't completely sold on the initial research and creative process, that phase turned out to be the most important part.

Guy Bauer really got excited about our project, and their passion shone through in the work. I'm not a very artistic person, but I thought that the video turned out fantastically. It blew me away.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't have anything negative to say about the process. To be honest, I am hoping to work with them again in the future.  I highly recommend them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Let Guy Bauer do their work and guide the process. If you have a very large team or marketing group and just want a team to execute on a specific vision, they probably could. We wanted to hire somebody who was very creative and passionate. You'll get the most value by having your team be engaged with the process.

Guy Bauer will also expect approval and feedback. Assigning a point person like an in-house project manager from your organization to contact them would be useful.

They’re skilled with video and content creation. Customers can expect a creative and readily accessible team that delivers on their promises.
""Not only does Guy Bauer create a high-end product, but they perform an exceptional service."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of MassMutual Trust Company. We provide private services to affluent clients with a high net worth. Our team of 40, including investment professionals, attorneys, and certified trust officers, help clients and advisors manage their complexities in their financial affairs.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Guy Bauer?

We work primarily through financial advisors as intermediaries. Sometimes it’s hard to explain what we do to 9,000 advisors across the country. We wanted a video that had a message that resonated with advisors. We needed them to understand the space we occupy and remember our company in the future.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

A couple years ago, I began talking with Guy (Founder, Guy Bauer) about this project and how I needed his help creating a short video that crafted my message. It needed to be clear, crisp, memorable, and able to hold watchers’ attention.

What is the team composition?

I primarily worked with Guy and Tory (Head of Client Services–Account Director, Guy Bauer).

How did you come to work with Guy Bauer?

Guy Bauer was referred to me by a company that I do business with. I’d seen work that they did for another company and thought it was exceptional. Three years ago, I contracted Guy, and he did a nice job. Then this past year, I went back to him with a different idea.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost around $65,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together about a year ago and concluded the project in December.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We shared the video with investors and internally. Feedback has been tremendous. People have commented saying it’s the nicest work we’ve ever created. It was posted on our website a few weeks ago, and have received positive posts from employees and other viewers. The video is gaining traction and visibility.

How did Guy Bauer perform from a project management standpoint?

Guy Bauer has a responsive team. Tory does an excellent job in setting expectations and communicating through email. They always deliver when they promise, and if for some reason they can’t, they’ll get back to me and will explain the delay. Guy works efficiently with his team, brainstorming and coming up with creative ways to bring my idea to life. They’re an exceptional group to work with.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with their writing staff. I also appreciated that I could communicate with them on parts of the project I wanted to see, and they were responsive to show me any clip or photo. Not only does Guy Bauer create a high-end product, but they perform an exceptional service. They understand the importance of being available and responsive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of any.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Clients should be directly involved, setting the direction and having a clear vision. After that, they need to let Guy take over. New customers also need to be included in the first outline their team puts together and those early meetings. They listen and come back within a week with their plan.

We did a Kickstarter campaign for our first product and needed a concise launch video that could convey a compelling story. Our team hired Guy Bauer to produce the video, which would layout out the product’s key differentiation and use case to the Kickstarter community.

We searched for vendors and liked the team’s videos.

How much have you invested with them?

We started working with them in March 2016 and the second video project wrapped in November 2018.

What is the status of this engagement?

We spent $60,000 in total.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We still use the second video and our product just launched in the Apple Store. On both campaigns, the crowdfunding and preorder dollar levels exceeded our expectations. The first crowdfunding campaign raised $800,000 and the second achieved over $1 million. Given the video’s placement at the top of the page, we can credit a lot of this success to Guy Bauer.

Furthermore, the team’s special effects skills were clean and smooth on the second video. We continue to get positive feedback from a variety of people.

How did Guy Bauer perform from a project management standpoint?

We were prone to delays, but the team kept us on track. They had a disciplined approach to the logistics around shooting.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We keep hiring Guy Bauer because they excelled at handholding and guided us through an unfamiliar video production process. Overall, the team went above and beyond our initial requirements. For example, we had under-scoped the amount of animation and CGI needed. The team accommodated our side as we had to re-record audio. We loved the end product and confidently presented it to our customers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We needed to plan the partnership early and have a more structured story going into the engagement. Guy Bauer did the best they could.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Provide in-depth context as early as possible. That information makes the process more efficient for all parties.

**BACKGROUND**

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Guy Bauer?

We hired Guy Bauer to create a video to launch our scholarship campaign. We wanted a compelling and exciting video that would encourage alumni to engage and donors to give.

**SOLUTION**

We had a script and storyboard. We needed Guy Bauer to bring the video to life, by bringing their value and creative talent. Their team put the video together, using all of our students, campus buildings, and mascot.

What is the team composition?

We worked with at least five to six people on this project. Our team included Guy (President & Founder, Guy Bauer), a project manager, several camera operators, and a post-production team that edited sound and music.

How did you come to work with Guy Bauer?

I found Guy Bauer online. Their sample videos drew me in with beautiful camerawork. They have a gift for telling a story and evoking emotion. Everything on their site was well produced. Guy Bauer is a smart and brilliant team. It’s probably one of the best experiences I’ve had with a video production company. While watching their demos, I knew that they could produce our videos and I was right. Working with Guy Bauer was one of the best professional decisions I’ve made.

Are there any areas they could improve?

**The Review** — Oct 12, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Internal feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, leading to more work for Guy Bauer. They accept constructive input well, but also bring creative ideas of their own to the table at a reasonable value. Consistent communication and high-quality deliverables are hallmarks of their work.
""Guy Bauer is integral to the MOOC’s success. The videos are actually interesting to watch."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for a large professional services organization. I do multimedia development (e.g., videos and podcasts) for our thought leadership.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Guy Bauer?

We wanted to launch our very first MOOC (massive open online course). Our executives were nervous because it was something we'd never done before. We didn't know exactly what it would entail, so we wanted a partner to lead us through the process.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Guy Bauer created a series of videos as part of our MOOC offerings. While we’d never done a MOOC before, we did have a lot of thought leadership on the topic of additive manufacturing. They worked with us to figure out how to best structure each lesson and video. They advised us on what would work in terms of how, when, and where we should film, as well as how much time to spend on a single presenter versus guest experts.

They did all the filming and all the post-production for our education pieces. They put together the supplemental on-screen graphics to enhance the lessons. They also create standalone videos throughout the company.

What is the team composition?

I’m in contact with the whole team, including production people and post-production designers. Guy (founder, Guy Bauer) is my main contact.

How did you come to work with Guy Bauer?

I’d previously worked with Guy before he set up his agency.

How much have you invested with them?

My department has spent around $750,000–$1,000,000. It’s definitely more across the rest of the company.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2013 and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Guy Bauer is integral to the MOOC’s success. The videos are actually interesting to watch. There’s a real cinematic value rather than merely filming a PowerPoint presentation.

They not only ensure that we get all the footage we need, but they also put it together in a way that is better than we could have anticipated. They’ve created the benchmark by which we do everything else in this field. We're planning more projects with them in the future.

How did Guy Bauer perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team performs well. The projects get done; deadlines are never an issue. Guy will push back when he thinks that we’re missing an opportunity. That’s a good thing to have in a vendor. He knows the limits but also wants to make sure we’re doing the best we possibly can.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They constantly over deliver. They do more work than they charge us for. They're really good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The relationship I have with Guy is one where he can give me a lot of pushback. There are a few times when I wish he wouldn't, but most of the time I think that it's a good thing.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Just work with them. That’s it.

**The Review** — Apr 18, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Each endeavor was highly successful and built brand awareness and momentum. They set interviewees at ease and cemented the professional identity of several internal members. They are expert editors with an iconic style.
"“They have an uncanny understanding of our story and mission and always knew exactly what we wanted.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I worked at a laboratory instrumentation company that specializes in analytical instruments for the life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and other industries. I was responsible for laboratory automation segments.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Guy Bauer?
We wanted a video that would build brand awareness and visibility for one of our automated platforms.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
When we started working together, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with the video. We decided to tell the product’s story by showing how it performs and helps customers achieve their goals. We concluded that the story should be a series of interviews with our internal people. We wanted to give the spotlight to our application scientists and principal engineers, so we structured the interviews with informal, open-ended questions designed to let these people talk about their own experiences.
The first video was an astronomical success and we were given a huge budget to make 7–10 more videos. When I left for a different company, I did two more projects with them that were virtually the same. We rebranded the facility and strengthened brand awareness before a new product launch. They brought a still photographer who shadowed the whole video and contributed awesome photos for our other print media. That provided even more value for our money and the materials they produced were useful in future projects.
What is the team composition?
At the beginning, we worked directly with Guy (Founder, Guy Bauer). We formulated plans and then he brought in one or two principal photographers, videographers, and the makeup artist. As the company grew, they added a lot of other talented people to their staff. We engaged a project manager and a still photographer.
How did you come to work with Guy Bauer?
I did an internet search and came up with three potential options. Guy was just starting his company and we were one of his first clients. He was honest and his prices were reasonable. I connected with him and wanted to give him an opportunity. I wanted to work with him on every video project that came after.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $40,000–$50,000 on my work with them at both companies.
What is the status of this engagement?
I worked with him in 2011 and 2012 at PerkinElmer. Then, I worked with him in 2013 at my other company.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our projects were wildly successful. Guy is an expert in photography who uses great techniques to generate leads and build brand awareness and momentum. He chose really fantastic music and his editing was phenomenal. He had a talent for picking the right quotes and putting them against beautiful panoramic shots and great lighting.
He was a terrific interviewer. Some of the people we chose were unaccustomed to the spotlight and were very nervous. It’s hard to be candid if you’re not used to makeup artists and bright lights. He got every interviewee to open up and tell their story.
One unmeasurable result was what these videos did for our internal team. These projects fired up everyone who participated in our videos and thought the experience was amazing. For some, the process cemented their internal identity and motivated them to do great things. It was one of the finest marketing experiences of my life; everyone was amazing.
How did Guy Bauer perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management was one aspect that grew with his business. As the volume of projects grew, he hired more staff. Every person I interacted with was professional and in tune with the mission. We never had any issues with execution. I don’t think he would tolerate anyone on his staff who didn’t meet his standards.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have an uncanny understanding of our story and mission and always knew exactly what we wanted. I can’t say enough about Guy. He was always fair and everything about my experience with him was first-class.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I’m delighted with their work. I still check in with Guy at least once or twice a year to see how he’s doing. It’s a joy to see his business blossom; he really deserves it. His photography and storytelling are iconic and I recognize his work whenever I see it on TV.

The customers in this video have had enough. They’re asserting their rights--our right to a better customer experience. And thanks to Nuance- their prayers are answered.

We take complex topics that would’ve wound up becoming corporate videos and turn them into videos people actually enjoy watching. And we’ve done this for many B2B businesses just like yours.
