We wanted to make retirement planning easier for our users and facilitate our long onboarding process. The main problem was that sometimes we didn't have enough advisors available in certain areas or times. People had to wait, and we were losing potential customers. We hired Uinno to build an AI advisor that could help users get started right away without waiting for a human advisor. The AI needed to use the same approaches that made our existing customers successful.

The MVP took about three months to build. The feedback from users has been really positive,  and our human advisors checked the AI's calculations - they said it's doing a good job.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The MVP launched in three months like we planned. User engagement went up - people are spending about 30% more time on the platform. Our advisors are also saving around 2-3 hours per week because the AI does the preliminary work. We aim to make it 10 hours per week with further development.

We're still in development, but the early numbers look promising. About 65% of users who try the AI advisor end up booking a session with a human advisor afterward, which is what we wanted.

They kept us updated every week and didn't miss any major deadlines. When we had questions or wanted to change something, they usually got back to us within a day.

The team was flexible too. We changed our mind a few times about how the user interface should work, and they adjusted without making it a big deal.

They really understood the financial planning side of things, not just the tech. A lot of developers would just build what we asked for, but Uinno's team actually suggested better ways to present the information to users based on their fintech experience.

Also, their lead developer had worked on similar AI projects before, so we didn't have to explain everything from scratch.

Uinno did a great job with the Figma designs and flow. They were willing to work with me, mostly at the same time as I am in Miami and they are in Ukraine and throughout Europe. It was early for me and late for them but we enjoyed working together. They schedule weekly meetings and are willing to go the extra mile if it makes your project better. 

The staff was patient and kind during our time working together. I enjoyed it so much that I will be working with them again. The prototype came out great and I am very happy. I created some videos for my prototype right after they finished to put the cherry on top. Oleksii, Daria, Vadim, Andrey, Margo, Sergii are all kind humans and hard workers too. I have a brother in law who is Ukranian so it was also nice to work with humans who have the same roots as him. I feel very bad what has happened to their country and stand by them. My mother bought a Ukranian flag and shirt for me early on in the process.

On Figma Daria was very patient and helpful with the designs and made the flows as simple as possible while also following software fundamentals. It is important for me because I have a patent pending idea and am also looking to sell my idea to a company. Working at the same time speeds the process up and also communicating with Uinno what you would like to do is important. The software team cannot read your mind so it is important to sketch ideas out for them demonstrating what you are trying to convey. From there they do a delightful job explaining if it is possible and putting into onto the wireframes. 

I have learned a lot form the staff and I am looking to get more experience with figma over time, but I believe it was be valuable to have a designer and technical expert look over my work to see if it is as efficient as possible. Also to stand out things have to be simple and creative, Uinno was awesome at keeping things simple for the client and for the user.

We used a communication platform so I can send messages to employees with questions or concerns. Uinno gets back to you very quickly and is not pushy.

The quality of the prototype and if it came out the best way possible for the user so it is simple to use. They achieved all of those outcomes.

It also helped us internally — less manual work, better team visibility, and more time for developers to focus on improving the product.

I'm an executive at Pedlar, an e-commerce technology platform that allows content creators to build their digital storefronts quickly and sell and endorse brands and products they love and use.

What challenge were you trying to address with Uinno?

We needed a platform developed. It wasn’t the most complex platform, but we needed end-to-end development that consisted of both front- and backend.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially had an introductory call with them. We told them about what we were looking to build. We then had a discovery call, walking through the journeys of our platform and how someone would engage with it. They came back with a verbal solution. 

So far, Uinno has built an all-in-one business tool for independent and content creators. It's a way for those creators to engage with brands and get more business while managing their online presence. 

Uinno has also covered everything from design to coding the platform for us. The key technologies are Google Cloud and Firebase on the backend. The frontend is a custom React app. The team helps us maintain the code and supports us while the product is live.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with about six teammates from Uinno, including Vadim and Alexey. We also interface with a project manager, frontend developers, and some backend developers. Our main point of contact has changed throughout the process, but we’ve always been in contact with a project manager. During heavy design sprints, we talk closely with the designer. For development sprints, we talk closely with the development lead. 

How did you come to work with Uinno?

When we were looking to engage with a development house, I used Clutch to look up businesses. Uinno wasn’t one of them, but we got a recommendation from someone who had worked with them in the past. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started in June 2024, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve launched the product and are incredibly impressed and happy with the quality of their work. Our CTO has been impressed with the output. From a coding and product build perspective, we’ve been happy with the designs and turnaround times. 

In any development process, there will be bugs. Uinno has a strict process using tools like Jira for us to document those bugs. They have a team that looks into those bugs, and they turn them around within 24 hours. Simply put, they have a good process of identifying and fixing bugs. 

How did Uinno perform from a project management standpoint?

They've mostly been good with deadlines and meeting expectations. They're good at letting us know about the delays when deadlines are stretched out. We were always led with the right expectations.

We primarily use Jira for project management. We've also used Notion and Google Sheets because they like to fit into our workflow. They've always been very accommodating. We typically communicate via Slack, with dedicated channels to communicate with the team daily. Once a week, we have a call via Google Meet.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Vadim and Alexey have both been phenomenal. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their technical expertise, dedication, and work ethic have been impressive. We have an aggressive release schedule, and Uinno has been with us all hours of the day and weekend trying to complete the project.  

We've used development agencies in the past and had terrible experiences. In contrast, Uinno not only does what we say, but they also come to us with solutions and ideas. They challenge us on certain things and lead us.

I’m the founder of a startup focused on hiring. We use AI to help find and assess talent, and we’re building a marketplace on top of that to be able to hire AI agents within an organization.

We needed help with custom software development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Uinno has been helping us with custom software development for our product. We had a foundation for what we were building, but it was nowhere near what it is now after Uinno’s help. We’re still working with them, and I’m looking to expand our contract with them. Initially, I overshared with them, telling them about our business model and our long-term goals because I wanted them to work independently and not have them ask me specific questions.

Currently, we have a team working on the frontend and backend. I’m looking to expand into the machine learning and AI space. For the backend, we’re using OpenAI and Xano. For the frontend, we’re using TypeScript, Vercel, and React.

What is the team composition?

We’re working with five people from Uinno, including Vladimir, who works as our account manager. Dmytro works with us as our technical lead, and we have three other teammates. The technical lead handles the more complex issues. One of the other teammates, Sergey, does a lot of the legwork and is very active.

How did you come to work with Uinno?

I did a Google search and found them on Clutch. For this project, I was considering five different companies. Uinno offered a contract based on time and materials, which was something that some of the other organizations offered, but they weren’t as keen on it. I wanted a long-term contract, and Uinno made that possible.

Additionally, they had worked in the hiring industry, so it all worked together. As we progressed and discussed more with Uinno, I realized that they had everything I was looking for at a very competitive price.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $14,350 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2024, and the engagement is ongoing. As mentioned, we're probably expanding our contract with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven’t been able to go to market yet, so we don’t have any active or paying users. However, we’ve received feedback, and people like our product. It’s a very simple app, and if there are any changes, I can go to Uinno, and they’ll do it on the fly.

How did Uinno perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, Uinno has delivered on time and on budget. They use GitHub projects, but I don’t like the idea of that because my team uses Notion. I’m trying to make that possible for us to use Notion with them. We primarily use Slack for communication.

Sergey is very dedicated. He’s always quick to respond and knows what needs to be done.

What did you find most impressive about them?

From the start, Uinno was quick to understand the challenges we were facing and what we were trying to achieve. Moreover, I’m impressed with their flexibility. Even if I’m not able to give them work at a particular time, they’re still happy to stay on board with us and help us where they can. The moment I give them something to work on, they start working on it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Project management is one area that could be improved. They do offer project management services, but in my instance, I’m not always able to dedicate enough time as I should for this project, so sometimes we do hit a plateau in terms of progress.

Additionally, I wish they had a portal so I could understand how many hours have been worked and keep track of things in real-time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you have a project management board that they have access to. Ensure that all of your work can be shared with them, including your product roadmap, features, user stories, and specific requests. I recommend ensuring transparent communication between them and you so that everyone stays on the same pathway.

Uinno has developed the software for my Android and iOS mobile app. First, we brainstormed together during the discovery phase. From there, the team moved on to the design phase, which included creating diagrams for basic UI designs using Figma. The development phase was next, where the team handled backend development.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Seamless publishing workflow to both platforms. Apple News app display of the magazine's content, perfectly aligned to the style of the magazine's own web app. Fast, reliable and stable delivery, no bugs, no complications or surprises.

Uinno ran a tightly managed project. The project manager was extremely knowledgable in the technology and solution they were proposing. Through the project the engineers working on the features were able to explain their solutions and react with ease to feedback. All deliverables were clearly planned and key dates were met without delay. They were proactive in communicating, so we were never unclear about the project status, the timeline or the budget.
