I’m the visual designer of Rhombus. We’re a cloud-based video enterprise security solution.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ubunzo Ltd.?

We were looking for assistance to stage our products in ads without using photographs, specifically with still 3D renders. As a startup, our resources were limited. I was the only designer on the marketing team, and I didn’t have the skills required for certain marketing tactics like this one.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ubunzo Ltd. has created assets for our marketing and advertising. Specifically, they've created 3D renders and animated videos that showcase how our product works. We manage and administrate the campaigns in-house.

Initially, we provided Ubunzo Ltd. with an overview of our brand guidelines for a cohesive design. Additionally, for any render or 3D animation, I provide a script describing each scene so that Ubunzo Ltd. has as many details as possible. 

Ubunzo Ltd. has recently created renders for a presentation at a trade show that we have coming up.

What is the team composition?

My only contact has been Valerie (Art Director).

How did you come to work with Ubunzo Ltd.?

We started working with Valerie before she worked at Ubunzo Ltd.; she helped us with our website graphics and videos. Originally, we found her through Upwork when she was working with a different studio. We liked working with her so much that we continued when she started Ubunzo Ltd. 

How much have you invested with them?

My manager handles payments, so I'm unsure how much we've spent overall. For the last project we worked on together, it was less than $10,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working with Ubunzo Ltd. since August 2022. We've worked on different projects together, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our partnership with Ubunzo Ltd. has been successful. We've had a great experience since we first started working with them. 

The last renders we asked Ubunzo Ltd. to create not only were high-quality work as usual, but they also had a really quick turnaround time, even though it was during the holidays. That particular presentation will make a huge impact, and we're excited. We've received good feedback from the trade show's organization. 

Overall, our teammates have also noticed that the visuals stand out and are getting better, and this is thanks to Ubunzo Ltd.'s work. 

How did Ubunzo Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

Ubunzo Ltd.'s communication is top-tier. I've worked with other contractors, and Ubunzo Ltd. has been the best communicator because I don't have to ask them for updates. We primarily communicate via email and use a combination of Dropbox and Figma to review files. Ubunzo Ltd. has been responsive to our comments. 

Moreover, Ubunzo Ltd. is punctual with their deliverables. Working in the design industry requires being nit-picky, and Ubunzo Ltd. has been on top of it — that's one of the reasons we continue to work with them. 

Additionally, Ubunzo Ltd.'s quotes have been very flexible. A couple of times when we've gotten a quote that was too high for us, Ubunzo Ltd. has helped us stay within our budget. Overall, working with them has made my job easier, and I really appreciate our business relationship. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm most impressed with Ubunzo Ltd.'s professionalism. The combination of their team's skills makes them deliver everything on time and communicate effectively. Other agencies usually lack something, and Ubunzo Ltd. has a well-rounded team that always delivers top-quality work. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything for Ubunzo Ltd. to improve; our experience has been good.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend you provide as much detail as possible about the work you need. As long as you do that, they'll deliver what you asked for every single time. Be prepared for awesome service, work, and a wonderful partnership — they're easy to work with.

The artist was hired to create three promotional videos to promote the release of my upcoming book. The videos involved 3D models of my book as well as the characters and setting of my book with a cohesive look and feel. This is a book about dinosaurs, and the animations they delivered rival the work quality of a prominent animation studio.

For what projects/services did your company hire Ubunzo Ltd.?

We hired them to create our NFT traits, logo, and marketing assets. We worked closely with Val who completely brought our vision to life. They worked quickly and created high quality designs that were better than I could have imagined myself.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for designers on Upwork and were lucky enough to find them there.

We had multiple meetings with Val where we presented our goals and vision boards. After discussing in detail, the team got to work and presented us with the first drafts. We were very happy with the first drafts, and after a few edits from us, the team got to work again. They presented the final results and we couldn't be happier.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had all of our meetings and discussions with Val. She worked with a small team of people but we never had discussions with them. The team did a great job.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As a small team ourselves, we were able to take the team's designs and create a full social media profile, website, and a full collection of 6,666 NFTs. Because of the market crash in 2022, we have our project on hold.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was extremely effective and timely. We got everything we needed in a quick time period.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was very impressed with the designs. Val and her team took my idea and brought the vision to life in a way that I couldn't have dreamed of myself.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really, we were really impressed and satisfied with our experience with this team.
