What challenge were you trying to address with Trade and Lateral Development?

We needed someone to provide us with design and email send services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We primarily used Trade and Lateral Development for email design, send and reporting.

We primarily work with Michelle (Director).

How did you come to work with Trade and Lateral Development? 

The company was already using Trade and Lateral Development prior to me joining the team. I continued to work with them because of their efficiency and the quality of their work.

What is the status of this engagement? 

We have continued working with Trade and Lateral Development for over 7 years. Currently we only use them for design. We continue to work with them because of their efficiency and the quality of their work.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

On emails we base the quality of the success on interactions, engagements, and clicks. Trade and Lateral assisted by closely monitoring these and providing ongoing feedback and recommendations to continue to improve (eg the team would also often guide us on the email marketing best practices)

How did Trade and Lateral Development perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve never had any issues with their project management. They communicate well and meet deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their efficiency, design skills, and email best practice knowledge.

For what projects/services did your company hire Trade and Lateral Development, and what were your goals?

My website had been created by a previous designer with no ecommerce set up. I wanted an online shop, but also for the website to be clearer on what it is I actually do.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Michelle set up the shop, but also helped me to consider the point of my website for viewers: what did I want them to do once on the site? What call to action was I providing for products and services.

Michelle updated by Wordpress site, choosing a new theme, and ensuring my security was updated and regular backups were set up.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I have had a sales off of my site, but nothing significant. This is solely due to my limited marketing campaigns, and the fact that people can buy the products though physical and online stores. Those clients who have bought books and art from the site, have been happy with the very simply process of ordering, paying and receiving products.

Michelle and I communicated regularly via Zoom and Whatsapp. We set a timeline and deliverables. I knew what I had to do in order to assist Michelle with creating and finishing the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Michelle is incredibly easy to work with. She knows her stuff and often offered far more in terms of insight than I would have imagined. Her communication and client liaison is that of a passionate individual, rather than a large corporate.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We did a reworking of the set up of artwork, and they were happy to oblige with my change in layout.

Referral. Trade and Lateral Development and Michelle have been working with us for over 20 years now.

It’s been over two decades.  Not sure on the amount.  

What is the status of this engagement?

Current. They are still the only company we use for this.  It has been a really good business relationship and we can’t see ourselves looking elsewhere.
