I'm one of the co-founders of Taste Salud, a drink mix company. Our product is a crossover between an emergency liquid IV for hydration and a drink that provides immune health benefits — that’s one of our differentiating factors. Moreover, our drinks have one gram of sugar, which is less than what other drinks on the market have. My co-founder, Josh, is a first-generation Mexican-American, so a lot of our flavor profiles are inspired by traditional Mexican drinks, such as horchata, hibiscus, and tamarind.

A few months into starting our business, we understood the importance of having an online presence and running ads across Meta, including Facebook and Instagram. We also wanted to advertise our product on Google and create email marketing campaigns.

However, as young entrepreneurs, neither my partner nor I had experience in marketing and advertising. We were very strong in content creation, but we didn’t understand how to strategically put that content online to get a positive ROAS. Therefore, we were looking for an agency to help us with those efforts as if they were an extension of our team.

We provide them with all the content they need because Josh is a content creator, so that’s our area of expertise. Then, they create different ad campaigns for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google, and email using that content. Additionally, they’ve helped us develop our email funnel.

We met Top Growth Marketing at an event held in Shopify’s offices in downtown Los Angeles that Jack was speaking at. Jack talked about how to run ads, and at the time, we were trying to figure that out on our own. We were very impressed by his presentation and decided that it would be best if his team helped us run our ads, so we reached out to him and started working together.

We started working together in November 2021, and our engagement is ongoing. Sky is the limit on how much our business can scale, so we don’t plan to end our partnership anytime soon.

Top Growth Marketing has helped us scale our business in a profitable way, providing us with what we were looking for — we attribute a lot of our success to their work. We constantly keep track of our business conversions, lead generation, sales, and click-through rates, and we’ve seen great results. Recently, we had one of our best months since working together.

Our most important result has been our top-line sales, followed by our profitability. Our ROAS has remained pretty consistent between 2.5–3, which is very good for our industry and our business. This result has allowed us to reinvest some of our profits to keep our business growing.

How did Top Growth Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

Top Growth Marketing’s project management is excellent. Megan is very accommodating in working around our schedule and desired project timelines. She’s also very available on short notice and gets back to us even outside office hours. On top of that, they work very quickly to meet some aggressive deadlines and bring to life ideas we want to execute immediately.

Moreover, Top Growth Marketing does a very good job of providing very transparent scorecards with all the metrics we oversee. We have monthly reviews to go through all those metrics, and they provide us with a lot of suggestions in areas we can potentially improve to get more of our advertising.

Top Growth Marketing is very good at communicating. We communicate via email, which works well for us. Whenever I send Megan an email, she replies within half a day at most. Additionally, Top Growth Marketing keeps everything organized on Google Drive.

I really like the way that Top Growth Marketing has structured their team. They have divided responsibilities across the different marketing channels, so they have specialists responsible for each one. Additionally, I enjoy the way they manage content. We create a lot of content for different purposes, and Top Growth Marketing is very organized, which has helped us keep our internal processes more organized as well as a result.

I recommend working with them. Being good at generating content is very important. Although maybe Top Growth Marketing is as good at creating content as is at running ads, providing them quality content and branding asses will help you get the most out of your partnership.

Sarah and her team at TGM were able to help us weather the ios14 storm on Facebook, keeping the account in positive ROAS where a lot of other advertisers were losing money, they kept the account in winning territory.

The workflow was seamless and integrated. Data reports from Sarah's team were routinely included on all client facing reporting cycles. The information was clear, knowledgeable and actionable at all times..

They've demonstrated excellence across all disciplines, ad networks, and creative requests. The TGM offering was also reasonably priced and very much effective achieving all the needs of our agency.

The company handles networks like Facebook, Instgram, TikTok, Taboola, YouTube and a couple others. Adding a DSP or AI based offering would further improve their ability to service wider market needs.

Top Growth Marketing is focused on the creative aspect of our marketing. They’ve applied a really methodical approach to it and have been testing it on a large scale. That’s much greater than what I would ever achieve as an individual. They have a wealth of experience so they have that key expertise to take what we have and really make it work for us.

Before I found them, I was getting my information from watching video tutorials and reading self-help guides online. It’s been a transformative experience working with these guys. We measure the success in terms of sales and real return on ad spend (ROAS). We worked with them initially to put together a list of what they could realistically achieve, and they’ve been doing a pretty good job of keeping track of that.

How did Top Growth Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate on a daily basis, and if they need anything from me, I’ll provide it for them. We’ll have monthly meetings where they can present their findings for their monthly testing because we need at least a month in order to get results, so monthly reviews are standard.

We also tend to catch up whenever we’re presented with challenges for the project that we need to address. So far, they’ve been really helpful in identifying things that are outside of the scope. It’s a pretty fluid and relaxed environment from a project management standpoint.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What impresses me the most is they’re really flexible, proactive, and great at communicating. I never really feel like I’m in the dark about what’s going on with regards to the actions or inputs that they’re taking. I always get that constant reassurance even though they’re from another country working in a different timezone.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think it would be great if they could expand their team and include a more holistic approach to marketing. It’s difficult to say because I think they’re already very good at what they do. I just think it would be great to have a representative for other aspects of marketing like email, or social media channels like Pinterest. This can be something they might take on in the future.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were focused on cost per acquisition (CPA). When we brought on Top Growth Marketing, they decreased our CPA by roughly 70% within the first four months of working with them. That allowed us to scale our spend significantly.

What’s more, we scaled our spend over the three-year engagement by 190%. Top Growth Marketing was able to do that while keeping the account stable and hitting our target CPA. That was really tricky, and they did a fantastic job of that.

They increased our return on advertising spend (ROAS) by 90% by the end of our engagement. It was awesome. Our giveaway campaigns were super successful and we decreased our cost per lead by 97%.

How did Top Growth Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

They consistently met deadlines. I was usually at fault if a deadline wasn’t met. Their team communicated really well and were responsive. They were working around the clock and on weekends; they were very available.

We corresponded mostly through emails and had monthly check-in calls. Top Growth Marketing would do screen recordings of the media buyer walking through the Facebook account and would visually explain what things were and why.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their media buying was top-notch. They were always finding new audiences and were very creative with that. What’s more, I was impressed with their ability to be very flexible. Their team always had innovative ideas and solutions in terms of copy and images.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As they grow, I’d recommend they incorporate other channels in their services. For example, having an email team that could take over a brand’s email. All these platforms and channels are so in sync with each other, so having one team to do it all would be very beneficial and would improve cohesion.
