Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The current Teravision project had two main deliverables. One was to provide a more robust, secure and scalable live and test production (infrastructure) environment to host our SAAS product called FloodWise. The other deliverable is to help us build a react framework around our existing frontend to FloodWise.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project is organized into two-week sprints and at the end of each sprint our own people would test and evauluate the work and any suggestions would be presented to the team for inclusion into the next sprint. This allows the team to demonstrate their progress and for us to evaluate the level of success.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The Teravision team is very engaged and organized in their approach to project management. They have always either delivered items on time or had a valid reason for missing the projected target date. If the target date was missed they were always able to catch back up in the next sprint. They are experienced enough to build time into the proposed sprints to handle the inevitable problems that arise in this kind of development work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We have worked with Teravision on two fairly large projects and I have always been impressed with their knowledge and professionalism and constantly surprised at the high level of enthusiam their entire team has brought to our projects. Even after the first project was complete they were eager to help us with any problems that popped up. I think the high level of enthusiasm I mentioned is what might separate them from other companies.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Teravision Technologies could have done differently?

Any problems that have occured during our particular projects were due to us not having a crystal clear scope going into the startup process but I put that more on us than them. Part of that was us venturing into new territories and Teravsion maybe not realizing our limitations. This has been a learning process for us (as far as infrastructure) and for Teravision learning our vision of our product. To that end we all struggled at times but Teravision was very good at adapting.

What challenge were you trying to address with Teravision Technologies?

We were looking for more resources than what we had in-house.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started slowly by spending a few sessions with the executive team, focusing on the engineering side to understand the project ahead. Then, we started with a test project, continued iterating the plan, and grew from there. 

Teravision Technologies currently provides DevOps services for us for an app development project. The team has helped us with everything from servers and deployments to building out UI designs in type-safe ways with an eye for modern practices. They’ve put a lot of research into this process. 

We use Node.js and Terraform for the project. For features, they’ve built a basic UI design with modals, complicated React state, and routing. The frontend is a big mechanical beast, and Teravision Technologies has created patterns to work off of and deploy animations that our designers might need.

We’ve worked with their CTO, VP of engineering, and CEO. We’ve also interacted with two project managers and two developer leads. At most, we’ve had around 10 frontend developers and six backend developers, including Fabiola (Senior Full Stack Developer).

We contacted Teravision Technologies through a referral and chose them for the onshore time-zone benefit. This allowed us to tap into a deep pool of developers with various skill sets. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started in November 2023, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Teravision Technologies’ biggest accomplishment for us so far is getting one of our big email and Google Cloud migrations done. One of their CTOs has truly stepped up and helped bring that effort over the finish line. 

How did Teravision Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re good communicators, and they under-promise and deliver on time. To communicate, we use Google Meet, Linear, and Slack. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Fabiola has always been a positive teammate. She always does her best, and I enjoy working with her.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re always willing to discuss things and find solutions for both sides. It’s only a matter of getting into the project because we’re in a complicated industry. They do well to tame the chaos. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There have been some hiccups with the onboarding flows and some rough periods. However, they always come back to the table to understand what we’re seeing, and we’ve always received a good quality product. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust that your project will be investigated. If it's an existing product, the Teravision Technologies team can handle construction-type migrations and complicated tasks. Be prepared to work with them to set cadences and communicate schedules.

We needed staff augmentation services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Theravision Technologies provides us with full stack JavaScript developers who work full-time as part of our team. Teravision Technologies' team uses Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS on the backend and React on the frontend, converting design mock-ups into React. The developers also have the ability to write automation tests. The team works remotely.

What is the team composition?

We work with three software engineers from Teravision Technologies, and we've just hired a fourth team member. We also work with a project manager, but they’re very hands-off, and we don't communicate often.

How did you come to work with Teravision Technologies?

I found Teravision Technologies through Google and Clutch. I interviewed three different companies and the candidates they provided. Teravision Technologies' candidates passed our exams and take-home assessments. The team sources developers from different countries, including Mexico, Venezuela, and Colombia. Ultimately, we chose Teravision Technologies based on how well they did on the exam, their communication skills, and their ability to review and execute requirements.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend around $19,000 a month for three resources.

We started working together in April 2023, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Teravision Technologies has helped us save time when finding candidates. The team is really good at sourcing candidates quickly, and we’ve also saved money because their resources are cheaper. Overall, Teravision Technologies has saved us about a month's worth of time.

How did Teravision Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Teravision Technologies delivers work on time and on budget, and their project management is good. The project manager lets me know when a teammate wants to take time off. We collaborate via Jira and communicate through Zoom, Slack, and email.

I'm a product manager at a company that provides reliable fuel and logistics solutions. Our company is a fuel management company that lowers the total cost of procurement for the nation's largest fuel consumers. I'm responsible for the vision roadmap and product enhancements for end clients.

What challenge were you trying to address with Teravision Technologies?

We were looking to enhance our customer portal's UX, reducing latency time, and updating the overall portal. We also needed to develop a mobile application. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we onboarded Teravision Technologies, the team took one month to understand our business requirements and the work we expected them to deliver. After that, Teravision Technologies worked with us continuously using Agile methodology to deliver the required functionalities. The team used Figma for design and React to develop our iOS and Android apps. 

Our mobile app function was to streamline order entry, inventory management, and data consolidation. We wanted a one-stop shop for customers to place orders online. Customers can check their order data and see if something is going wrong with alarms on the sides. Our app provides a dashboard for customers to visualize their daily data and download reports, providing the information they need at their fingertips.

We worked with around 15–16 teammates, including scrum masters, business analysts, product owners, web and mobile technical leads, senior and middle-tier developers, and senior testers.

I found Teravision Technologies through a Google search while looking for service providers for this project.

We spent close to $375,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We engaged Teravision Technologies between October 2023–July 2024. However, we've requested an augmented staff that is working on a couple of functionalities.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our application was approved but isn't live yet because we're enhancing some functionalities. We plan to launch the app early next month. Teravision Technologies' work met our expectations. 

How did Teravision Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Teravision Technologies delivered work on time and communicated well with us via email and Microsoft Teams. We used Azure DevOps for project management and worked under Agile methodology. This was our first project with Teravision Technologies, who was responsible for QA work.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

My interaction with Mariano (Product Owner) throughout the project was fruitful because he engaged closely with me on the product side. Miguel (Senior Technical Lead Full Stack Developer) was also very good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were really happy with the mobile app delivered by Teravision Technologies. Ricardo (CEO & Co-Founder) was very interested in building good relationships with the companies he works with. I appreciated Ricardo for being such a gentleman and maintaining a good relationship with his customers. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Initially, there were a couple of delays, which delayed the project by 1–2 months. However, I don't blame Teravision Technologies because our project was complicated, and the team delivered what was expected.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I suggest ensuring you have a clear vision of your project and what you want the team to deliver. Once you have that, Teravision Technologies will take the work into their hands and deliver what is expected.

We were a start-up company looking for out-sourced engineers with expertise in building start-ups. We brought in FE & BE engineers, dev/ops, Scrum Master and a Business Analyst. Our goal was to use our patented algorithms to derive a shopper’s 3D body shape using augmented reality and LIDAR-powered devices, to make personalized product recommendations in hard to fit categories.

Every once in a while they would send in a team member that did not speak English to fill in. They were qualified but would need a translator. That was unusual.

What challenge were you trying to address with Teravision Technologies?

We had a system architecture that our inside team ideated, and we needed a company that could develop and implement it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired Teravision Technologies to develop the system architecture that we designed and implement it on every level. They basically helped us migrate this development into a web and mobile environment for our users. The web environment was developed using PHP and Java, and currently, we have integrated iOS and Android.

The team has changed over time. In total, we’ve worked with about 80 different people through the years.

We did some research looking for software factories based in the US, and we ended up choosing Teravision for their experience and portfolio.

We’ve had a continuous collaboration with Teravision Technologies, and we expect to continue implementing new technologies with their help.

How did Teravision Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Teravision Technologies has performed well in terms of project management. Before every project, they assign a specific number of developers based on the initial budget. We would then compare our estimations, and they would send a proposal, after which the development team would start working.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re impressed with Teravision Technologies’ strong project ownership and commitment to the project’s success. We also appreciate their hands-on approach and how closely they work with us. Whenever we’ve made suggestions or requests, Teravision Technologies has been accommodating and open. They’re incredibly great at understanding our needs, and our relationship has evolved to the point that we’re completely attuned despite the distance.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There is always room for improvement. Since we started our collaboration, we have improved a lot of processes.

I’m the chief technology officer at one of the largest production music libraries in North America. We’re the exclusive music providers to professional sports organizations, media networks, and streaming services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Teravision Technologies?

The web experience that our clients demand today is more interactive and modern than what we had in place, so Teravision is helping us redesign our website through engineering and support.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided a number of scrum teams to execute on our designs.

What is the team composition?

We have a technical lead and a project management lead from their side who were responsible for managing the two scrum teams. Each team has a product owner, a scrum master, and a series of engineers and QA resources. At peak, we worked with 15 people.

How did you come to work with Teravision Technologies?

My director of product development had worked with them at a large entertainment organization. We have our own internal team, but we needed to scale resources quickly to take on all the work involved in the redesign.  

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since April 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their engagement model is great. We were able to get started fairly quickly and start seeing results immediately. The resources scaled up and got velocity out of them.

How did Teravision Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re based in South America, and I was a bit worried about communication being an issue, but we haven’t had any issues at all. We meet with them quarterly to review the overall health of the relationship. If we need to make adjustments along the way, we have primary points of contact that we can reach out to. The engagement has been pretty much problem free.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of the challenges people face with outsourcing is that when internal and external resources are working on a similar product line, the direction the external team is moving in may not line up perfectly with the internal work being done. We found that carving out portions of the application for specific parts of the internal and external teams to work on together allows the external resources to have counterparts to talk to and touch base with. This allows us to receive a fully functional component. Without exception, Teravision has succeeded in this method.

Are there any areas they could improve?

What we didn’t get at the beginning was a good interaction at a core technology architecture level, leading to a bit of uncertainty. The good news is that their technology people are strong. They’ve been exactly on the right track except for one minor exception. If we were to start over again, we would look for more interaction at the top to align on the technology side. It didn’t create a problem, but it was something to improve.

They’ve been terrific. The rates of reasonable, the technology is excellent, and I offer no warnings whatsoever.

Teravision Technologies helped us increase our production capacity in app development to cover our staff needs. It’s an ongoing feedback loop where they produce something, review it, and then work on any needed modifications or changes until the work is done. The apps we develop are for both Android and iOS platforms.

APM Music is the world's leading creative music house and production music library and has been a crucial part of that experience for over 35 years. We offer every imaginable music genre from current indie band sounds and bombastic trailer cues to timeless classical music recordings for everything from the smallest of indie films to the largest blockbuster studio releases; television sit-coms to commercials and sports broadcasting; video games to mobile handheld games; and, even musical greeting cards to online user-generated content. I am a Senior Project Manager and the lead PM on the APM Music Website Redesign project.

For what projects/services did your company hire Teravision Technologies, and what were your goals?

The APM Music Website was created years ago and has long needed an architectural overhaul (both frontend/backend) as well as UI/UX experience update. Teravision was contracted and brought on board to help assist in the development, QA, and release of the APM Music Website Redesign project. Our goals for bringing Teravision on board were to help reduce the load on individual team members and create more resource options to increase productivity and overall timeline/scope of the project. Teravision was contracted to work on specific website areas identified by APM to assist in the overall APM Music Website Redesign project.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

A current APM employee has worked with Teravision in the past at another company for a project they were working on at the time. Teravision came highly recommended by this APM employee so the company moved forward in engagement.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had initial kick-off meetings to discuss the overall website redesign project as well as scope out the teams and members from Teravision. Other smaller kick-off meetings were then had to discuss the specifics regarding the identified site areas that the Teravision team would be handling. Teravision was engaged to form 2 podded teams that included backend/frontend engineers, QA, scrum masters, product owners, and DevOps.

Teravision runs a daily scrum of scrums to update stakeholders regarding the podded teams status as well as a weekly technology meeting to ensure all major tech issues and/or concerns are discussed and addressed. We also engaged Teravision to embed a scrum master and QA in to an internal APM podded team to allow the previous project manager room to pull back and focus on the overall APM Music Website Redesign project from a program perspective.

After all initial kick-off meetings were had and priorities set, Teravision was able to be pretty self-sufficient in terms of the tech stack, moving forward on the development and QA progress, and managing the podded teams. Below are details regarding the identified site areas and the key deliverables that APM is expecting from Teravision:

We are still in the middle of our project effort and it is a little hard to determine the exact numbers due to bench team members, etc., however, the set team members we are tracking is at 13. The positions range from QA member, QA lead, Scrum Master, Project Manager, Product Owner, Backend Engineers, Frontend Engineers, and a Tech Lead.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As mentioned above we are still in the middle of our project so feedback thus far is limited. So far throughout the project working with Teravision has been extremely helpful and incredibly smooth. The Teravision team is extremely keen on the details making sure to cover all aspects of the project they are assigned to. The team also does an amazing job reaching out if they have any questions and will work extremely hard to make sure they are providing you quality results.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We communicate in daily scrum of scrums stand ups with all podded teams to provide updates and status to stakeholders. We also meet weekly for a technical session to uncover, discuss, and/or address issues or concerns regarding more technical items that are not covered in the daily scrum of scrums. We use Slack, Jira, Github, and Zoom for all of our communications back and forth. Teravision is very attentive and quick to respond in any form you are reaching out to them in. They also do a great job in adapting to your companies project management standards/practices as well as conforming to your SDLC plan.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are very quick in adapting to whatever role you need them to fill. When coming onboard for our redesign project they were able to review our current site, user stories, requirements, etc., quickly allowing us to begin digging in to the project much sooner than initially thought. I think even more impressive than that however is the fact that Teravision adapted to every bit of our Jira PM standards making the transition/handoff that much smoother.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As mentioned above, we are still in the middle of the redesign project and I don't have any areas for improvement to suggest at this time. This could potentially change as the project evolves and we get deeper in to the big portions of the redesign.
