We were looking for a balance between allowing them creative freedom and giving precise direction to achieve the creativity we need.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tegan Digital is responsible for refreshing our brand from A to Z, looking at everything from our strategic positioning, tone of voice, colors, branding, advertising, collateral, on-site signage, email strategy, and most specifically, our media and design. The scope for Tegan Digital is focused on providing 2–3 monthly creative deliverables and our annual digital media, including SEO strategy.

The team establishes our core documents, which we then use repeatedly. For example, the for-sale home brochures, the finish selection guide, our event collateral, our advertisements, our annual yearbook, and 5K t-shirts.

We work with two account teammates from Tegan Digital.

We've spent upwards of $500,000.

We began working together in May 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Primarily, hitting the cadence of produced work each month and all of the metrics associated with our media plan. In the end, though, it came down to driving qualified leads, and we've blown that metric out of the water together with Tegan Digital. For example, this month is up 300% over last May 2024, and April finished at +347%.

The key metrics are hitting the volume of creative projects needed each month, as well as things like website visits, social reach, and brand awareness.

How did Tegan Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Tegan Digital is always open to conversation, reviewing inspiration, editing as needed, and partnering closely to understand our brand and needs. Their project management is excellent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The personal touch. Tegan Digital works with you in a way that is best suited to you and the people who are the best fit. They don't push or force things, but let you, as the client, drive and decide how you'd like to do things, and they just fit. The team is hardworking, fast, and sharp, and I believe they genuinely care about our brand's success.

There have been some bumps along the way, but everything was a course correction.

We loved working with the Tegan team! They helped us evaluate our customers and their motivations to build a strategic marketing strategy for our company with suggestions for email layout, taglines and messaging and an updated color palate which all integrated who we are and who we hope to be.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to integrate the Tegan suggestions immediately into our marketing plans. We adopted their suggested designs for email templates and wording for our website as well as the new colors and logo suggestions and tagline. We saw increased responses to our emails and social media posts and we are reaching a wider audience.

Tegan was very responsive and always timely with their communication. It was easy to reach them and they made it a point to come meet us in person often as well as zoom check-ins, calls, and emails in between the meetings. We felt taken care of and we could tell that they cared deeply about the success of our efforts.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were all personally invested in their work with us and their small team all seemed very knowledgeable and involved in our account - all contributing their own unique perspective to the work on our account. We felt cared for and we felt important. We loved working with them, and they always spent a lot of time answering questions and explaining their thoughts about our work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Tegan Digital could have done differently?

The only thing I would say is that sometimes things were so detailed that it was difficult to follow and we might have needed things layed out in more "layman's terms". We would have also loved more clarity from stage to stage in the process of what to expect and what the next phase would entail to understand the before and after, not just the present stage of the process as a company who was working with marketing consultants for the first time.

We had periodic check-in meetings, but most of the project management was done through our internal Slack. They always responded promptly to any questions or ideas we had throughout the process. They let us know if something wasn't feasible in the time frame and budget, and always gave us the information to make good decisions.

The website built by Tegan Digital is functional, professional, and on brand, receiving positive feedback from supporters. The team is timely, detailed, and very collaborative, using Zoom and in person meetings to communicate. Moreover, they’re knowledgeable, creative, and attentive to the client’s needs.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tegan Digital?

We needed support with website development, hosting, maintenance, and updates, so we hired Tegan.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

During my time at the nonprofit organization, Tegan was in charge of website development, updates and content creation. Their team built out special features and strategic campaign pages as needed, providing us recommendations along the way for the best end result.

Their team was also responsible for updating the site and maintaining the pieces that showed our current supporters and sponsors so that our website was always current. Moreover, their work also included design to ensure that the site pages looked cohesive. As for the technology stack, Tegan mainly used WordPress, but I don’t know if there was another backend technology involved.

Throughout the engagement, I worked with Tegan on our 10-year campaign, a big campaign we launched to mark the 10-year anniversary. For this project, Tegan helped us create a new landing page so that we could launch a campaign that targeted our supporters and drove them to our social media pages to engage with us. They also integrated call-to-action buttons for donations.

Although I don’t know for sure if Tegan built our entire website from scratch because that was before my time, I know that they built a lot of its infrastructure. Additionally, they developed the entire infrastructure for the landing page. Their team also developed an entire page for a big national event the organization had in Dallas, which was the largest fundraising event that we hosted during my time.

Right when I was leaving the company, Tegan was working on adding a pop-up box so that we were able to gather information from donors visiting our site, giving them the opportunity to join our newsletter in a much easier way.

Throughout my time at the organization, I worked with Kelsey (Account Director). I also had the opportunity to collaborate and share some thoughts with John (Partner).

How did you come to work with Tegan Digital?

The organization was already engaged with Tegan when I joined. I am unsure as to the start date but I estimate it was around 2021. I am no longer part of the organization, but I believe that the partnership is ongoing.

What is the status of this engagement?

As mentioned, Tegan was already working with us when I joined, so I’m not sure about the starting date. Still, I estimate that we started working together around late 2021. I’m no longer part of the organization, but I believe that the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We received positive feedback from supporters -they enjoyed the new look and feel of the site. It was fun yet sophisticated and elegant, very professional and on-brand. Additionally, it was fully functional.

Prior to leaving the organization, tegan was helping develop tools that would helpful for gathering donor insights- allowing the organization to better familiarize themselves with its supporters.

How did Tegan Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Tegan was very timely and detailed in their responses. Their team was always willing to visit with us and work through project scopes and timelines, while answering questions regarding to budget impact.

For example, we could always chat with Tegan about our existing infrastructure and how we could create additional pages without spending a lot of time and additional money. We communicated via email, Zoom, phone, and in-person meetings. Their communication was great, and they were always very helpful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Kelsey was very attentive and possessed a wealth of knowledge. She would always try to find creative solutions to our problems and discovered opportunities and ways for us to reach our audience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was nothing Tegan could have improved on. They did a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I highly recommend working with Tegan. If you have the opportunity to meet John and Kelsey to talk about what you’re looking for, they’ll create a roadmap for you. They’re always willing to listen and learn, and they want to truly understand your needs so that they can fit them and make it a win-win collaboration for both of you.

Tegan maintained, optimized and updated the consumer-facing website with timely, accurate information that helped guide the user journey, from optimizing for visibility in search and promoting products and promotions on the site, to connecting homeowners to dealers via the dealer locator. In addition, Tegan maintained functionality and usability for a toolset which allows company dealers to display tools and information on their own websites.

Tegan also monitored the website and tools for outage and/or issues on a regular basis and helped troubleshoot when issues did arise.

The Tegan team was very accessible and very timely with their responses/delivery. We utilized Slack to communicate on quick items, which was very efficient. The Tegan team paid attention to detail and always asked good clarifying questions.

Tegan Digital was very personable and friendly. They always supported each other and seemed like a family. It's a great agency with amazing people.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Tegan Digital could have done differently?

The support we had from the Tegan team was unmeasurable - not much I would do differently. The only item I would have like to see more of is SEO monitoring and recommendations; however, this may have been area that just wasn't asked for within our original scope.
