CMO, Primasun
- Industry: Other industries

**The Review** — Oct 20, 2023

**Feedback Summary**: Takt (Formerly Massive Media) has helped the client build thought leadership, and their data-driven approach and transparency stand out. The team can meet tight deadlines, is open about budget changes, and communicates effectively via Zoom and Slack. The client also highlights their flexibility and work quality.
"“The team is very creative, easy to work with, and has spent a lot of time building expertise.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the CMO of Primasun, a digital health company and a joint venture between Verily and ResMed. We’re building a digital ecosystem focused on sleep and sleep-related disorders.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Massive Media? When I came into my role, I looked into rebuilding our company’s branding, and we hired Massive Media for the project.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Massive Media has helped us rebuild our brand. Initially, we asked Massive Media to capture our brand voice and presence on our website. First, we had several sessions where we introduced our existing brand, and they spent time doing research with us, including on our competition. We shared data about how we wanted to position ourselves as a company. The Massive Media team did their own competitive analysis and then came back with proposals for different directions. We aligned through those sessions. The team has used Figma for web design. Massive Media also has experience with several CMSs, and they've provided proposals based on our needs. We’ve chosen Contentful for security reasons, and they’ve built the website around this system. The team currently still provides website management services. Since finishing the website, we’ve expanded our relationship with them to own our digital footprint. The team manages our social channels and runs digital campaigns for us. Massive Media has taken over our accounts and offers social media marketing (SMM)on Facebook, Twitter, Threads, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We’re currently not on TikTok due to the way we want to position ourselves. On LinkedIn, Massive Media has created a newsletter for us.The team’s deliverables include creative assets, copywriting, and copy editing. They execute a monthly marketing calendar for our social media, which we sign off on. Massive Media also helps us with the campaign’s creative direction and planning. For example, we’ve led targeted campaigns in Dallas and Philadelphia and planned to do a national campaign. Massive Media has supported us in building the strategy for those campaigns. When we started the company, we focused on B2B, and we later recognized the need to speak directly to consumers. Massive Media has pivoted with us, assigning folks on their team to manage the different channels as we’ve moved into B2C. Additionally, we’ve partnered with the National Sleep Foundation, and Massive Media has built a hub where we can drive consumers to become educated. The team has also created a database with monthly performance reports across all channels. What is the team composition?Initially, we worked with a core team of three teammates on the strategy and framework. Since we went into the day-to-day operations, we’ve worked with a team of five members from Massive Media, including Prem (VP of Strategy), a project manager, and folks who execute the tasks, such as designers and copywriters. The head of the company also sometimes joins our meetings. How did you come to work with Massive Media? We found them through a Google search and interviewed 4–5 companies; we got some referrals from our parent companies and chose other candidates based on their capabilities. From there, we whittled down our options to two and chose Massive Media because they demonstrated significant flexibility during our initial talks about platforms. Moreover, they responded in a timely fashion. How much have you invested with them?We have Massive Media on a monthly retainer of $20,000 CAD (approximately $17,000 USD). What is the status of this engagement? We started working together in August 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We’re building our brand from scratch, and Massive Media has enabled us to create a thought leadership platform and expand our reach with consumers. I don’t like marketing without data, and Massive Media is very committed to data-driven insights. They ensure the actions we take follow those insights. The team has also made all data easily accessible through the database, where I can consult the monthly trends, which topics are getting the most traction, and where we’re getting engagement. When we hired Massive Media to create our website, we had a different team managing our social channels. Due to the quality of Massive Media’s work, we decided to switch SMM providers. We continue to be impressed with the quality and impact of the Massive Media team’s work; we’re very aligned in our vision of where to go next. How did Massive Media perform from a project management standpoint? They lead very structured project management and keep us informed if there’s a risk of coming in over budget. They always explain budget growth and ensure we sign off on the changes before proceeding. Since we have two parent companies and operate in startup mode, our timelines are very aggressive, and the team can meet them. For example, Massive Media built the resource hub in less than a week; it was a moonshot of a turnaround, and they achieved it. Our communication has evolved. Initially, we had a weekly session with the project manager to get briefed on their website progress. Once we got to the point of them managing our social media presence daily, we switched to Slack. Now, we have biweekly interactions through Zoom and daily ones through Slack. We also have a monthly data review session. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Prem is a phenomenal visionary who has helped us build our presence and impact consumers. He has been key to meeting our goal of being trendsetters and being ahead of the curve in how we talk about sleep. What did you find most impressive about them?Massive Media has an effective team with very clearly defined roles. They’ve demonstrated high flexibility and openness to hearing our needs and customizing solutions for us. Moreover, the team is very creative, easy to work with, and has spent a lot of time building expertise. Massive Media has ensured our brand remains consistent while targeting specific channels. They feel like an extension of our internal team, and as a result, I don’t feel the need to hire people as quickly as I would have otherwise. Are there any areas they could improve? They could improve their handoff process. On a couple of occasions, they’ve made changes in the team to provide us with a more senior resource, but we weren’t made aware of the change until the new teammate showed up. Do you have any advice for potential customers?Schedule operating mechanisms to ensure everyone gets together regularly — that’s all you need. Massive Media will come prepared and send information before your meetings to allow you to review it ahead of time.

These steps helped us uncover key content, design, and functionality needs while showing a need for originality amongst our competitors. This discovery gave us the opportunity to build a website that truly stood out.During the design phase, Massive worked closely with us to develop custom wireframes and presented three unique homepage concepts with fully fleshed-out animations. This collaborative approach ensured that every element, from content to design, was aligned with our vision. Once the design was finalized, we integrated it with the wireframes and created a working prototype for us to experience before we launched it.On the technical side, they developed a custom audio player module that offered a branded and immersive listening experience, which is something that really lets us stand out against competitors using third-party media players. They then moved into QA testing to ensure the site’s performance, accessibility, and functionality across all devices.

Towards the end of the project, we had less touchpoints (as everything was in development) so it's the only time we ever felt a little unsure of what to expect...but that has more to do with past, negative experiences with other agencies and less about what Massive was able to deliver for us.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? We were looking for a site with improved accessibility, SEO ease of use and an overall updated experience. Given that we are not income generating, our goal is to increase our reach. Newly relaunched, we expect that the traffic to our site will go up and that visitors will stay longer. We have not worked out a specific user feedback process yet, but that is in the works.Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs? We had a dedicated project manager who stayed ahead of us ever step of the way, they were organized and responsive pulling in appropriate team members as required. The timeline laid out by Massive was well articulated and adhered to. Any changes to the schedule were mutually agreed upon and often as a response to us needing more time to complete assigned tasks. In addition to a weekly project update we had regularly scheduled check-in meetings that were efficient and inclusive. What was your primary form of communication with Massive Media?Virtual MeetingEmail or Messaging AppWhat did you find most impressive or unique about this company? We really appreciated their energy and vibe. From start to finish, their curiosity and enthusiasm really shone through. Although we were bringing a small project to the table, we felt valued and that our business was appreciated. Are there any areas for improvement or something Massive Media could have done differently?Because we were so new to this we have nothing to compare it to. We felt that we were in good hands and had confidence in their team's ability to guide our project. Never once were we left with the impression that we were just another project and I believe that this is reflective of the company's commitment to customer centered service.

**The Review** — Aug 24, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The firm was happy with Takt's (Formerly Massive Media) work. The site's direct traffic increased 49 times, while organic search traffic increased 61 times. Session duration and average pageviews also increased significantly. The team's project management style was clear and consistent, leading to fruitful results.
""We received the best of the best from Takt (Formerly Massive Media).""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.I am the marketing manager at Raven RSM. We bring out the rescue and safety savvy of Canadians across the country with the training they'll remember when it counts, rescue gear that makes sense, and safety strategies they'll use. From professionals with a rescue mandate to recreationalists and workplace employees for whom rescue is a secondary task, our training, equipment, and services will bring out the best in our students and clients.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Massive Media, and what were your goals? We approached Massive with the ask for a website equipped with e-commerce. In addition, only a few short years prior, we'd split our website into three distinct domains for our different client bases and realized we'd made a mistake. The website needed to unify disparate and disconnected user journeys, maintain our existing online course sign-up experience and drive the new key business offering of equipment sales. As part of that journey, we also engaged Massive for a visual rebrand.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors? We shortlisted Massive alongside one other firm. We initially opted for the other firm based on their client portfolio - they'd worked with retail companies in the outdoor industry and even had staff that was team members of some of our existing rescue clientele. When that relationship fell through because of poor scheduling on the part of the firm, we turned to Massive with a bit of hesitation. We had originally felt we were not urban enough to be a good fit for Massive - we'd gravitated towards the other firm because they felt familiar to us.But it became immediately evident that our ethos was the same as Massive's - our relentless pursuit of excellence matched their bold personality. Also, it became clear that Massive would never drop the ball in something as fundamental as scheduling. We were both doggedly committed to producing a masterful result. These underlying values closed the deal for us, and we are forever grateful. Staying with something familiar would have kept us within the standards of our own industry. Partnering with Massive raised the bar in ways only cross-pollinating outside the familiar can. Turns out the future does favour the bold.Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.Massive began with an in-depth Research + Discovery process where they learned about our business, customers, industry, operations, and technical requirements: these involved interviews over Zoom, interactive workshops and presentations. From there, the project split into two tracks: Brand and web. Branding efforts began by crystalizing Raven's purpose and turning it into messaging that rallies and inspires. Then came the logo and visual ID concepts, which we shortlisted and refined until we eventually landed on our new logo.Meanwhile, Massive's UX team was planning our new website's content and information architecture around its users' needs. These translated to Figma wireframes that later became the backbone for the new website's UI and visual design. Massive presented us with these designs in Figma via a clickable URL that let us navigate the site to get an idea of how it feels. Copywriting was a collaborative effort between Massive's copywriters and our internal team and was completed in a Google Doc.With the website's UX, content, design, and technical requirements completed, Massive's developers began coding Raven's custom theme on WordPress, integrating the website with our various platforms and business-critical technologies. Then came testing and QA. Massive did the bulk of this internally before handing us the keys to the staging environment for Client Acceptance Testing. From there, we made final adjustments and tweaks before launching the new brand and website! How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?Ten people (2 UX and Content Strategists, 1 Brand Strategist, 2 WordPress Developers, 2 Designers, 2 Project Managers, 1 Art Director)

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables? This data appears fantastical. We know.Direct Traffic: Increased 49x between February and August 2022 year over year.Organic Search Traffic: Increased 61x between February and August 2022 year over year.Avg. Session Duration: Increased 6x between February and August 2022 year over year.Pageviews: Increased 94x between February and August 2022 year over year.We have received more newsletter signups since the website launch, and more form submissions in general. Our online course sales remained strong and didn't falter for a moment during the transition to the new site - courses remain waitlisted and sold out country-wide. As for retail sales, we have nothing to which we can compare our new e-commerce platform - we never had one before! But we are easing into the new e-commerce reality with the support of a solid UX and ongoing fine-tuning from the team at Massive. Any ongoing challenges we face with e-commerce lay more in our new inventory software and its integration to the website than with anything specifically related to the website design.Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.Project management was clear, timely, and consistent. A single Project Manager served as a point of contact for us and provided weekly updates via prescheduled video check-ins and documentation. Our project actually changed hands between 4 project managers over its duration, but despite that, we never felt that information fell between the cracks. An impressive accomplishment! At the end of our project, we were also left with a 100+ page "website training" document - a living google doc where changes to the site can be documented by ourselves or Massive as time goes on.What did you find most impressive or unique about this company? We felt that we received the best of the best from Massive; that they'd curated the best takeaways from every client in their portfolio, synthesized them with our needs, and delivered our branding and web design based on the result. Part of this meant that Massive's CTO pushed us to reconsider our entire backend software ecosystem seriously. Massive went above and beyond the statement of work to deliver a brand and website; they guided us to the (admittedly painful) realization that we needed to back up the work they were doing with equally masterful backend software. They knew that the website and branding they built would never reach their full potential without a better tech stack behind the scenes. Our entire business is better because of their input on this issue. Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?Challenges remain in the realm of e-commerce for us. We believe this is due to the new inventory software (Netsuite) and its integration to our Wordpress WooCommerce site, as opposed to anything relating to the site itself. I can tell that Massive had never worked with a client connecting WooCommerce to Netsuite. While building integrations was not at all within the scope of Massive's work with us (that fell to the integration partner we were working with), we obviously would have loved to benefit from any prior knowledge that Massive had of such integrations done for other clients. We hope future clients will glean tips and tricks because of Massive's experience with us. As I said, we received the best of the best from Massive because they curate the best takeaways from every client in their portfolio. We are proud to add our experience to their already deep well of knowledge.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors? We selcted Massive on two factors: 1. the quality and asthetic of their OWN website and 2. upon meeting the team in interviews, they had an open minded, playful sensibility while also presenting as reponsible professionals.Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.Doberman Pictures was looking for a ground up website rebuild AND rebrand. **RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables? On the website itself (though still pretty fresh off launch) we've had a lot of positive feedback from the team as well as from DreamWorks, our primary client. Delivered with the website were very thorough documentation and materials such as a style guide, how to upkeep and manage the site doc (50 pgs Illustrated!), logo files, meeting recordings and more. In addition, Massive have made themselves available for questions as they arrise. We feel very well taken care of by the Massive team in terms of materials given and ongoing support.Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.Working in a world where video meetings with large groups of executives is the daily norm - we actually were inspired by and learned a lot from the way Massive conducted their meetings and managed the project. Production schedule was quickly explained and agreed on and Massive kept to the timelines rigidly - if there were holdups it was on Doberman's part. The really impressive thing though was the proffesionalism of the meetings Massive conducted with Doberman; well dressed, polite, engaging and PREPARED! Each meeting came with a very proffesional agenda preparing us for what we were going to be speaking about, who was going to be doing the speaking and what the goals were going to be at the end. We will be taking a page from their project management ourselves. What did you find most impressive or unique about this company? It was evident that Massive Media had the chops to create something beautiful and engaging based on their portfolio and company website - and they delivered a beautiful end product that we're really proud of. What was most unexpected and impressive though, turned out to be the openness to pitch in with innovative creative ideas based on what they learned during research and discovery about Doberman's personality and aspirations. An example is that Doberman identified a print half tone/dot matrix type asthetic as something we liked - BUT, we recognized that we produce content for television, not for print. Massive came up with a solution that felt in the spirit of what we loved about the print asthetic but was geared towards tv - tube TV square pixels. This was an 'aha' moment and, as evidenced by the website, is a core element of the rebrand. Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?Cannot think of areas to improve at this time.

**Feedback Summary**: The client’s customers loved the new website and the clear messaging and service explanations. Takt (Formerly Massive Media) collaborated and managed the project well — they met the client’s deadlines.
"“I’m happy with Takt's (Formerly Massive Media) deliverables and the positive customer feedback I’ve gotten.” "

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the co-founder and COO of The Advisor Guide, a company that works in the financial services industry.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Massive Media? We hired Massive Media to help us with marketing to improve our brand positioning. The website we had was outdated and wasn’t reflecting our company’s messaging.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Massive Media developed a website and branding materials that reflected our messaging. Their team designed our logo and put together our color palette using the messaging we provided — they also did copywriting for us. At the beginning of the project, we discussed my goals with Massive Media’s team and our challenges. From there, we laid out a project schedule that laid out what we wanted to accomplish for each part of the project. Massive Media’s experts then seamlessly coordinated each piece of the project to ensure they met our deadlines. They then did market research to determine our brand positioning — our company name fit well in our industry and didn’t need to be changed. From there, we decided we only needed to change our logo, color palette, and website design. We gave them free rein with our color palette and logo design, although we did give them broad guidelines. Their team also developed the website’s wireframes in Figma. In the end, Massive Media then went beyond the scope of work and delivered social media icons, banners, and backgrounds to help us with our launch. What is the team composition?I worked directly with about eight teammates from Massive Media, but several developers were working on the project that I didn’t interact with. I worked with a UX/UI designer, a font specialist, a logo designer, and a copywriter. How did you come to work with Massive Media? We conducted thorough research into marketing agencies across Canada and the US on Google. I used Clutch to check company reviews because I was looking for companies that offered specific services and spent time curating their own messaging and brand on their website. I eventually found Massive Media and was impressed by their website. I knew that if they’d put that much care into their own site, they could do the same for my company. How much have you invested with them?We invested $65,000–$70,000 CAD (approximately $52,000– $55,000 USD) with Massive Media. What is the status of this engagement? This project with Massive Media was from November 2021–March 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We measure the project’s success through site traffic, click-through rates, and bounce rates. We also collect feedback from the customers we direct to our website — we want to make sure that our message is clearly communicated to the customers we’re already connecting with. Our customers provide a lot of positive feedback — they love the website and how clear our messaging and services are. Since the website only launched a few weeks ago, I don’t have accurate metrics about bounce rates or other quantitative metrics. Despite that, I’m happy with Massive Media’s deliverables and the positive customer feedback I’ve gotten. How did Massive Media perform from a project management standpoint? We had a very strict timeline and deadlines for Massive Media to meet. They were able to follow through and did what they needed to meet those deadlines. We used Google Drive and a few other platforms to review deliverables, including BugHub. The project was very collaborative; we had weekly and biweekly virtual meetings. Outside of those meetings, we typically communicated through email. What did you find most impressive about them?Massive Media’s quality of work and project coordination were outstanding; their team of professionals broke down the project into specialized categories. They learned a lot about our needs and positioning, which informed the rest of the project. Massive Media fully grasped who we were, where we were coming from, why we started, and our services. Focusing on those aspects made a huge difference when it came to delivering a beautiful project.I appreciated that Massive Media was professional and didn’t force us to change our company name so they could charge us extra. They were honest and told us that our existing company name was a good fit for our industry. Are there any areas they could improve?I have nothing for Massive Media to improve. Do you have any advice for potential customers?I’d advise customers to keep an open line of communication with Massive Media.

**Feedback Summary**: Takt's (Formerly Massive Media) output received a lot of positive feedback from the client's stakeholders and attendees. They had an effective communication process, as well. They understood the client's goals and showed previous expertise by helping with roadblocks in the project.
""But they are incredible at managing projects virtually.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.I am the Marketing Business Partner and Graphic Designer in the Southern Alberta's Institute of Technology's (SAIT) Marketing Department. I am a project manager who focuses on recruitment and brand strategy.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Massive Media, and what were your goals?SAIT hired Massive Media to produce a series of videos for on-demand information sessions that covered a wide variety of content. These videos are to help students along their customer journey to decide on their program at SAIT.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?Massive Media was selected from an RFP that was conducted by SAIT in approximately 2019. They were selected due to their creative team and project coordination. For this project specifically, we went with Massive Media due to their ability to meet our deadlines and provide the services we required to complete the goals of the project.Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production. We started with an initial brief and discovery meeting with Massive Media. In this, we outlined the different videos we were looking to create and prioritized the videos based on their use in a recruitment event happening a short while later. We outlined our deadlines and worked with Massive Media on specific deadlines for each video. SAIT, as subject matter experts, provided Massive Media with scripts and in-house talent recordings along with B-Roll video. Massive Media took the provided materials and created additional content slides and b-roll into videos that promoted SAIT programs based on an area of interest. With each video, Massive Media turned them around quickly - providing us one video as a template, which we perfected and then the other videos were created. SAIT provided timed feedback.Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?Working with Leigh and Kyle was an incredible experience. Kyle provided a lot of the technical needs and requirement outlines per video and outlined the expectations that would need to be completed for each video we were creating. Leigh provided the project outline, kept us on track and routinely followed up with us on everything from where videos were at, guidance on how to supply purposeful feedback to their team and ensured that Massive Media and SAIT remained on schedule for the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? We were able to show off our videos at our recruitment event. We received a lot of positive feedback from our stakeholders and attendees about how the videos looked, sounded and provided the necessary information to apply to a SAIT program.Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness. The project manager, Leigh, was effective in communication. Through email and meetings hosted on Microsoft Teams, Leigh maintained a professional and personable approach to our project. Leigh was able to be clear about deadlines and needs from the Massive Media team and had a detailed understanding of our project goals and objectives. Leigh kept regular communication with us, updating us throughout the project's life span. What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?Massive Media was able to understand our goals and took the time to get a really clear picture of our needs. Our project manager had previous experience in the post-secondary industry which helped when we experienced roadblocks and slight delays. She managed to work through them and still deliver the videos in a timely and extremely well executed manner. Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?I wish we were located in the same city - it would have been amazing to work with them in person. But they are incredible at managing projects virtually.

**Feedback Summary**: Takt's (Formerly Massive Media) results have been well-received and yielded positive feedback. They completed the project within a tight deadline while still leaving time for feedback and refining. The team made sure to listen in order to get the brand where it needed to be.
""I was impressed by the breadth of expertise on Takt's (Formerly Massive Media) team.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.I am the Marketing Coordinator for Special Events and Filming at the District of West Vancouver.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Massive Media? The District of West Vancouver hired Massive Media for a brand refresh of the Harmony Arts Festival, the District's largest event. Harmony has grown over the last 10 years and required a refreshed look to appeal to a broader audience. What were your goals for this project? The goals of the refresh were to keep the spirit of the brand, while giving it a contemporary look.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor? The search process began with phone interviews with five local marketing agencies, which were selected based on online portfolios, reviews, and price range, and was narrowed down to three. The three companies provided thorough overviews of the works they would complete along with quotes. After an internal review process, which involved multiple departments, the District of West Vancouver awarded the competition to Massive Media because they demonstrated the ability to best serve the District.Describe the scope of their work in detail.Massive Media started by sending the District a calendar that clearly outlined the timelines, scope, and deliverables of the project. Next, they hosted the events team for a kick-off meeting with their team of the CEO, Creative Director, Project Manager, Designer, and Content Strategist. A week later, they held a workshop called 'Start with Why' for District staff and other key members of the Harmony Arts community (a total of 17 participants).Following the workshop, Massive Media interviewed a list of eight volunteers, District staff, sponsors, and attendees. Once the research phase was complete, Massive Media conducted a collateral audit followed by several in-person presentations where they presented us with several options and allowed us time to provide feedback and refine the options.Through interviews and workshops, Massive provided us with a refined brand story and visual identity. What was the team composition? Our team worked directly with the Project Manager who would often include the Designer, Copy Editor, and Creative Director in phone calls and meetings. The size of their team they dedicated to the District remained consistent throughout the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? We are very pleased with the results of the brand refresh. We received lots of positive feedback from our sponsors and community on the updated visual identity. Our internal team felt that Massive truly listened and delivered well beyond our expectations. How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs? This refresh had to be completed in a tight two-month timeline and required a lot of engagement from the Harmony community. Massive delivered the results right on time and always allowed time for feedback and refining. They ensured we had a point-person on our team to keep communication flowing with ease. What did you find most impressive about this company?I was impressed by the breadth of expertise on Massive's team. They really spent their time listening and understanding, from all perspectives, what the brand was and where it needs to be. They also worked very collaboratively with the District and were always open to feedback in a very approachable way.Are there any areas for improvement? We were very happy with the results and saw no areas for improvement.

**The Review** — Jul 20, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Takt (Formerly Massive Media) not only made the site more visually appealing but also ensured it was user-friendly, providing internal stakeholders with the agency to update and modify the website themselves. The flexible team proved capable of overcoming challenges. Post-launch, they remained open to questions.
"“They went above and beyond.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the web and digital manager at a nongovernment organization.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Massive Media? We had a website that hadn't been updated for quite a while. We needed to figure out a new direction for the platform so that one of our teams could continue to work and expand on what their work was hoping to accomplish. We wanted a lot of modular agency, so being able to take a page and add components that still fit within the site’s aesthetic and theme, while also providing the flexibility internally for our team to make choices or present certain pages and content of their choosing.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?I provided Massive Media with a site map, a skeleton of how the website was currently structured, and access to the website to create the skeleton for themselves as well. We had a conversation about the optimal way to structure our content; before, I think people had been creating content types or subtypes at their leisure, and we needed to reevaluate what the user preference and perspective would be. I did as much as I could to provide them with the precursor documents, and then they handled wireframes. They did a design overhaul of our website and made it look more visually appealing. They also ensured that as our program shifts or changes, the website is able to do the same. That was a key functionality piece. What is the team composition?Throughout the project, I worked with at least six people. At the first level, I worked with René (Partner & Creative Director). We also worked with two project managers: one was dedicated to the external day-to-day communications, and the other managed internal communications. When we did wireframing and design in the beginning, we talked with a particular person from that team; then, during the development and bug phase, we worked with someone from the development team. How much have you invested with them?My company spent just under $20,000.What is the status of this engagement? Our work together began in February or March 2019, and it wrapped up by May or June of that year. We host the website on our own server, so they handed the website over to us. However, I’ve gone back to them a few times since launch to ask questions, such as about adding a functionality, and they’ve been super accommodating.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? They went above and beyond. I think one of the big pieces is that the team that we got the website built for hasn't come to me in quite a while to make any changes to the site. In my position, I tend to sense that a team is going to push toward getting a new website when they're coming to me pretty regularly to make small fixes on the backend of the site. When a website launches, I can tell if it is or isn’t working for the team depending on how much they're reaching out to me. The team has been able to handle the website and become pretty self-sufficient. For me, that's a barometer of success on their end. I think it also helped that Massive was there to onboard and assist on that front. How did Massive Media perform from a project management standpoint? It was a really good process. They didn’t miss much, and they were always very responsive within a day or less. Our organization is split across Canada; although Massive is based in the same city as me, the project team is based out of the East Coast, and they were flexible with handling that time change. There was a lot of back and forth, and sometimes, unexpected things came up. Everyone was super flexible, accommodating, and understanding of the situation. I think that’s a tribute to their experience dealing with clients, not only from our industry but other industries as well. They took on challenges as they came, which was really nice. To communicate, we used Google Hangouts, email, or quick phone calls as needed. What did you find most impressive about them?I thought the whole process was really well done. One of the most challenging pieces was when we had two feedback loops in the design that were part of the agreement, but we had to explore and add a third round because of internal feedback on our end. They managed that really well; I think it could’ve been a sticky situation, but they communicated well, and it ended up just being a small bump in the overall journey of the project. Are there any areas they could improve? No, I think it was pretty good for the most part. I didn’t think there was any glaring weakness or issue working with them.Any advice for potential customers?I’d recommend taking one of two paths: have everything clearly defined upfront, or be willing to collaborate and work with the ideas that Massive brings to the table. I think that a lot of the time, when you work with agencies like this, it can be frustrating to both parties if you’re undecided on your approach.

"“It felt like they were as invested in our success as we were.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I am a business analyst and project manager at a lumber treating and building materials distribution company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Massive Media? We were looking to build a completely new website.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Massive Media designed and developed a new website from scratch. We put together and internal project team, identifying various stakeholders in different areas of the business. Executives in these departments helped us compile a list of requirements for the website. The Massive Media team took these requirements to build an initial design draft. The internal committee approved items, design elements, and functionality they had created. Then their team developed the website based on that feedback through several iterations. After that site was approved, they populated the site with content for various pages.Massive Media helped us create a branding guide based on our internal standards. The guide for the updated design language for the new website. Their team also provided social media and marketing strategies, creating a plan for the frequency and content of posts. These campaigns adhered to the brand guidelines. What is the team composition? We worked with 6–7 members of the Massive Media team. How did you come to work with Massive Media?I did some internal research on marketing and web design firms in Canada. Massive Media came up so I checked out their past work and decided to send them an RFP that outlined the requirements and scope of the project. From there, we discussed how they would approach the project. We evaluated them against multiple other firms and, after bringing them in for various presentations on their strategy, we decided to work with them. What is the status of this engagement? Our engagement with Massive Media ran from September 2018–October 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We have been evaluating the website on Google Analytics and have seen a noticeable increase in the number of pages users go to. We have also seen an increase in engagement across our various social media platforms. How did Massive Media perform from a project management standpoint?Massive Media was adaptable to our changing timelines and schedules. We ran into some challenges in terms of internal scheduling, but they handled them well. Overall, they were great to work with and always delivered results on time. What did you find most impressive about them?It was fantastic to work with Massive Media. Everyone on their team is knowledgeable and experienced and it really shows. We were satisfied with both the final product and the relationship we had. They actually care about the products they were releasing. It felt like they were as invested in our success as we were. Are there any areas they could improve? No, they were very strong in all of the areas we needed them to be.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Be upfront and open about what you want. Treat it as a partnership, not just a transactional relationship. Be open to changes and flexible in requirements because they have great advice. If they tell you something is or is not possible, trust in their expertise.

**The Review** — Aug 28, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Conducting an extensive discovery phase and regularly incorporating feedback helped Takt (Formerly Massive Media) deliver a fantastic site. The team was responsive to changes on short notice, adapting well to the client's schedule.
""They were easy to work with, great at communication and took feedback well.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.I am the Executive Director of a non-profit organization. We have a permanent staff of 4, and a rotating group of contractors that are hired on a per project basis. Our work focuses on public policy research and program evaluation.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Massive Media? Our website and company branding was out of date and poorly thought out. It did not showcase our achievements well and it did not communicate the right kind of message to our potential funders. What were your goals for this project? We wanted a new website that: Showcased our past achievementsCommunicated our services, value and level of expertiseLooked modern and appealing

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?I did on-line research for web development and marketing companies in Canada and took recommendations from friends. I asked for bids from 4 different companies. I evaluated all of the proposals and took the two top proposals to my team for their input. The team selected Massive based on the proposal that they submitted and the examples of their work that they submitted.Describe the project in detail.Once we selected Massive, we had a meeting with their team at our office (their team included their creative director, our project manager, and Lindsay the Massive CEO). At the initial meeting Massive was focused on understanding the culture and approach of our organization, and the explicit things that we wanted out of the project. After the initial meeting Massive sent a project plan that outlined the steps that would take place, and the proposed deadlines. Massive asked for the names of people whom they could interview to get an outsiders perspective on the strengths of our organization.Within 2 weeks Massive had concluded the interviews and developed a detailed calendar of milestones for my approval. The third week after the initial meeting I met with Massive for their Style Presentation. They had developed two possible looks for the new website that I provided feedback on. Both looks were very well done.At 5 weeks into the project Massive sent a prototype of the website design and layout along with a content plan. Samples of the key page were ready for review by week 7.Over the next few weeks our team worked on updating and creating new content, with helpful advice from Massive on readability etc. The website was available for my review by week 12.There were a couple of feedback points and a few small items that needed changing. The content development took longer than anticipated on our side (not Massive's fault at all) and so the project deadline was pushed slightly. The website went live at week 18.What was the team composition?Initially I met with 3 team members, the Company CEO, the creative director and our project manager. At the key page meeting the lead code developer was also there (I was given to understand that he had a team of 2-3 people working with him). At one point our project manager went on vacation, and so we had a stand-in project manager for that week.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?Massive did a fantastic job. We love our site. It had all of the elements that we wanted. (www.icclr.org)How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?Very effective. The communication was great. Our project manager always answered emails quickly and checked in regularly. At one point we needed to have a supplemental meeting (about feedback from my board of directors responding to the key page) and the Massive team was happy to schedule that meeting on pretty short notice. What did you find most impressive about this company? They seemed to genuinely care about helping us succeed. They were enthusiastic about the project and they met all of their deadlines. They were easy to work with, great at communication and took feedback well. The final product turned out great. Are there any areas for improvement?I can't think of anything that caused me any concern. I would work with them again without hesitation.

**Feedback Summary**: The work produced by Takt (Formerly Massive Media) so far has pleased project stakeholders, producing optimism about the eventual success of the planned campaign launch. Their team quickly developed industry knowledge and managed the project effectively.
""Their attention to detail and timelines is unparalleled.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.Teach & Kids Learn (TKL) is a national leading provider of online professional development for educators seeking to meet state re-certification requirements, salary advancement and graduate credits. My position in TKL is CEO & Founder

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Massive Media? Our initial challenge was focused on rebranding our company's overall design elements and outward-facing messaging. This national campaign will look to leverage various marketing methods which Massive Media will be designing and leading. The national marketing campaign is scheduled to take place during September and October of 2019.What were your goals for this project? To date, Teach & Kids Learn (TKL) has been known as more of a very successful regional provider of online professional development. Our rebranding and new product & services launch will mark a new and pivotal change in the growth that our company has been able to achieve over the last few years. Our new product & services which we will be launching will expand our overall reach to new district partnerships throughout the country.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor? Our company researched several marketing firms to determine which ones had the capacity, experience and reputation as a rebranding. Once we narrowed down the list to five companies we contacted them and provided a proposal bidding process. Our team met with each of the companies through a formal vetting process. We reviewed the proposal and determined what each marketing firm could bring to this project. The vetting process took about 3-4 weeks. After careful review, our team determined that Massive Media had exactly the experience and design capabilities that we were looking for to help us in taking the company to the next level.Describe the scope of their work in detail. The process started with a comprehensive review of our company’s mission, services, products, and our people. We needed to not only come up with a new fresh look but also design elements that would allow us to grow in new directions as a company. This new design and messaging would lead us into our next phase of growth as a national company and a deeper set of services and product offerings.Once the rebranding phase was completed, the next phase that we entered with Massive Media was to design and develop a new TKL public website which is scheduled to launch in September 2019. The new website design needed to combine both an easy flowing UI design element along with providing a simpler overall company product & services message.Lastly, Massive Media was contracted to creating a national marketing campaign to showcase our new rebranded website site and new product launch. What was the team composition?Massive Project Team ○ Lindsay Smith - CEO ○ René Thomas - Strategy + Creative Direction ○ Christina Cooke - Project Manager ○ Megan Schrader - Brand Strategist + Copywriter ○ Jessica Young - Copywriter ○ Ryan Gutierrez - Sr. Designer

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?Currently, our rebranding, website, and marketing campaign is due to launch in the coming month. So it is too soon for us to provide outcome data and/or information. we believe everything will be well-received due to the great work that has been accomplished to date. How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?Very effective. There were meetings scheduled with each of the key players in our company where an interview and discovery process was used. Once completed the next step was for Massive Media to present to us their findings and a general understanding of what we do, how we do it, and more importantly why we do it.This allowed us to provide a check for understanding which would later play a very key role in all facets of the work that needed to be completed. I must say that I feel that this is truly the strength that Massive Media has as a marketing firm. They really take the time to understand your business and mission. So much so that you will begin to view them more as an extension of your overall team versus a hired external consulting team.Their depth of understanding was impressive. Next, came the work of planning and doing. Their attention to detail and timelines is unparalleled. They provided us with regular meetings that were scheduled around specific deliverables toward the project completion. If needed, additional impromptu calls and/or email messages would help to fill any gaps that might need attention were provided. Their project management team made sure that all goals were met and project delivery was completed on time. What did you find most impressive about this company?Their ability to ask the right questions which would lead to a deeper understanding of our company dynamics, as well as our products and services. They were able to really to get to the heart of what we were looking to accomplish with our rebranding and company refresh. Are there any areas for improvement?I can't think of anything at the moment. We would definitely recommend them to other companies that are looking to rebrand and/or redefine themselves for their markets.

Takt's (Formerly Massive Media) work has resulted in a new company look, and the collaboration has been an educational experience. Their heavy involvement has made for an effortless engagement.
""Their participation on a daily basis and high level of knowledge in our industry are valuable to us.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.I’m the financial controller at an industrial auctioneer company. Our headquarter is in Vancouver, B.C. with multiple offices in Canada, the US, Germany, and China.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Massive Media? We needed Massive Media to create a new website for us. Our existing site was outdated, and a majority of our users visit the site on mobile devices, which our site does not accommodate. What were your goals for this project? We want to have a user-friendly site that functions across multiple platforms. The site has to be capable of displaying all necessary information during our hundreds of annual auctions.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor? One of our partner companies had their site redesigned by Massive Media, and we were impressed by their work. After hearing their proposal, we committed to them for the project.Describe the project in detail. We began the project with several discovery meetings to discuss main objectives. From there, they spoke to all of our stakeholders and staff to better understand our business model. They incorporated all of this information into their design drafts and content flow. We had a round of feedback on aesthetic changes and finalized the site’s look. Now, the focus of the project is on tweaking the site to accommodate our proprietary auctioneer software. What was the team composition?Massive Media provided their entire team for this project. They also supplied a project manager.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? We’ve received a mock-up that we’re thrilled with. We don’t need to change anything about it, so we can proceed with the integration process on our backend and launch the new look of our company. How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?Under Massive Media’s advice, we have a primary manager on both teams, which makes communication smooth. All questions go through the project manager, and if they can’t answer it, they’ll internally forward it to the right person. Additionally, their entire team is present during every meeting, which gives each side a mutual understanding of the project. There is no back and forth on the small things, and our sessions are condensed and fruitful because of their management style. What did you find most impressive about this company?Their participation on a daily basis and high level of knowledge in our industry are valuable to us. There are some instances where they educate us on our customer base, rather than the other way around.

""They absolutely listened to what we wanted, and delivered exactly what we needed.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m a client services coordinator for a commercial real estate company, specifically for the high technology facilities group.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Massive Media? Our team profile on the corporate website wasn't terribly enticing or exciting. We were looking to brand ourselves outside of that corporate box in order to reach our tech clients.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Massive Media held a few meetings to get to know us and understand our needs. They drilled down on some possibilities, and then came back to us with a proposal. The majority of our clients are in the tech world and they speak a very specific language. It’s a small and tight knit tech community here in Vancouver. They helped us brand ourselves by creating a new website, which also gives us a bigger reach. What is the team composition? We primarily worked with the CEO and the CXO. We worked 1–2 other people on occasion. How did you come to work with Massive Media? They were a previous client of ours. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? They absolutely listened to what we wanted, and delivered exactly what we needed. We’ve had a lot of good feedback from our clients. They nailed the look and feel of the website. It speaks the right language at a level that other people can understand. They went above and beyond by recommending photographers and organizing a photo shoot as well. How did Massive Media perform from a project management standpoint?Their communication was excellent. They never canceled or postponed a meeting. We told them from the beginning that the website would never be a priority for us. We asked them to push us to deliver what they needed. They did a great job of keeping on top of us in a very warm way. Even if we were late, we were able to deliver the materials because of their effective communication. What did you find most impressive about them? They listened to us, which was key. We had a sense of what we wanted to do but found it hard to paint that picture. They delivered on our vision even though we weren’t able to specify what it was we wanted. Are there any areas they could improve? No, they did a great job. We made their life difficult, but they made ours quite easy.

We were assigned a Project Manager and worked with a few other resources at different levels of the project as the task required. How did you come to work with Massive Media? Our series producer had worked with them before and loved their work, so we reengaged them for this project. How much have you invested with them?We invested under $100,000 CAD (under $80,000 USD) for both campaigns combined. What is the status of this engagement? We worked with them on the first show from July to December 2015, and the second from January to May 2017.

Our broadcaster and everyone involved was very happy with it.How did Massive Media perform from a project management standpoint?Their team remained professional, insightful, and responsive throughout the engagement. They were quick to send back drafts and iterations on creative and their agility made the whole process seamless.Since our shows involved sensitive subjects, Massive Media had to help us react quickly to online social media engagement and issues as they arose—they were 100% available throughout. What did you find most impressive about them?I'm most impressed by their personal touch and insight. Being responsive and available to us throughout each campaign was incredibly important. Are there any areas they could improve? No. It was such a joy to work with them and I felt comfortable knowing they were always there for us as we needed them. Their highly knowledgeable team can help you navigate the work regardless of your level of knowledge in this space.

**The Review** — Feb 15, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: The sub-brands complement each other, driving traffic to the website. They have the resources to handle large projects, and yet operate in an agile environment of a smaller agency. Their grasp of storytelling, coupled with top-quality deliverables, makes them a go-to branding partner.
""The quality of the end product was very high. ... We were happy with the process.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I'm a partner at a real estate agency.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Massive Media? We have a corporate parent brand and a collection of niche brands that we use for marketing different styles and products. Our sub-brands had become fairly disconnected from a parent brand, but we wanted them to talk to each other rather than exist in their own space. We were looking for a company to tie those brands together and create a new brand identity that would exist along with multiple web presences.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? They developed a global website to house our corporate brand and act as a portal to all the sub-brands. After that, we didn't need seven different websites because everything was linked to one location. They created logos and branded entities for the sub-brands and for the parent brand. They also did all the print collateral: magazine style brochures, client guides, and marketing materials for specific properties. We have someone in-house who handles social media, but Massive Media provided guidance on social media strategy. What is the team composition? We worked with 5–6 team members directly. How did you come to work with them? Our marketing manager interviewed 4–5 different companies and Massive Media stood out to us.How much have you invested with them?We spent about $150,000 CAD ($119,440 USD).What is the status of this engagement? We started working with them in February 2017 and the project was completed in November 2017.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? The quality of print materials and advertising was very high. The traffic to our website has increased and the quality of user experience has improved dramatically. The separate websites that used to operate in their own space now complement each other, driving traffic to one another. How did they perform from a project management standpoint? They're great communicators: they outlined, scheduled, and budgeted everything at the beginning and made sure we stayed on track. We discussed our goals in detail, so we didn't have any issues after the project started. We communicated via phone and email, but they also gave us print materials. What did you find most impressive about them? They have an outstanding grasp of storytelling: they took their time to understand our story and expanded it exactly like we wanted them to. I talked to other agencies, who were capable and passionate, but the storytelling piece wasn't there. Also, Massive Media is the right size for us – they have enough resources to implement big project, but at the same time they're agile and responsive. Are there any areas they could improve? As we were growing, we kept throwing more work at them and changing the scope on the fly, so the communication sometimes was challenging. But everything was resolved with no major issues.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Be clear on what you're trying to accomplish with your project and communicate your story to them.

**The Review** — Feb 14, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Ticket sales increased as a result of the site’s improved ticketing functionality. Design for both web and printed materials received positive feedback. Successfully combining creative and tech, the one-stop shop nature of Massive’s approach ensured cost efficiencies.
"“It seems like everyone says that they can do digital and branding … The great thing about Takt (Formerly Massive Media) is that they can do all of it.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m Director of Marketing and Communications at a performing arts venue.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Massive Media? Our website’s design was antiquated. We were also having issues with the backend, like not being able to process ticketing in an efficient way.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? They managed a branding and design effort as well as setting everything up for us technically. On the design side, they did our website as well as other marketing materials. They designed the website around the creative work they did for the season. They developed the creative for the season with one set of creative for each show and one conglomeration of all four of our performances. They used black and white photos and chose to use orange, which is our main brand color, as the unique identifier to pull in all four shows. They were able to showcase some of our photography highlighting visual and musical arts. They did some additional photography for us with props and such that we could reuse. For the website, we came to them with a list of non-negotiables – like creating an API for ticketing and making the frontend of ticketing beautiful. Another requirement was a functional calendar so that shows and performances would be displayed properly in a way that’s easy for people to understand and purchase tickets. What is the team composition?I believe there were anywhere from four to six people—including project managers, designers, and developers—depending on what we had going on.How did you come to work with Massive Media?I had used them while at a previous employer. In that experience, we had done an extensive search for a partner to run paid search and they did a really great job. They were budget conscious, had really understood what we were trying to do, and provided really great work. It seemed like a natural fit for the performing arts venue. How much have you invested with them? The website overhaul was about $20,000 CAD ($16,000 USD).What is the status of this engagement? We started in February 2017 and the vast majority of the work was completed in June and July. They still step in whenever we have an issue.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We see a much faster path to ticket sales. Instead of the four clicks that it would take for ticket sales, it now only takes one or two, depending on where you land. Therefore, we're having a lot more people navigate into our ticket processing system, which is the goal. The more eyes on the ticket processing systems, the better. We saw a 15%–20% increase in that.We had a lot of feedback on the creative and everybody really loved it. That’s not just website users but also the people who sell our printed brochures, because that creative was ultimately done by Massive as well. We’ve also had a lot of feedback on the ease of use of the website and the calendar functionality, which we didn't have previously. People like being able to see what days of the week events are on instead of having to look it up.How did Massive Meda perform from a project management standpoint? We communicated via a project manager and, from time to time, we would liaise directly with the developer or designer. We had a direct line to the creative director who did the photos, for example. They kept up on task. We would typically be the ones dragging behind on things like content and approvals. They were also really good at letting us know when we were out of scope. When we had additional requests that we hadn’t thought about before, they would let us know that it wasn’t in scope but that we could add it later. They were really efficient in that way. What did you find most impressive about them? The awareness of digital combined with the awareness of branding combined with cost efficiencies. It seems like everyone says that they can do digital and branding, but I don't think there are a lot of agencies that truly can. They often have to outsource one or the other so you have to split the work between agencies. The great thing about Massive is that they can do all of it. They understand that your brand is seen more online than anywhere else. To be able to combine those two things is something that not many agencies can do, particularly with knowledge of the technical backend, API, things like that. It’s not something you’re going to find with a regular branding agency. Are there any areas they could improve? Not really. Not that I can think of off the top of my head.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Really think about your scope of work. This is with any agency, not necessarily just with Massive. You really need to think about your scope of work and the things that might pop up mid-project that you hadn't considered. Really consider what needs done because sometimes things cost more to add later.

## Portfolio & Awards

### NHLPA | A Modern Platform for the Players’ Voice
The National Hockey League Players’ Association needed a digital home that could match its legacy and momentum. Founded by Ted Lindsay to give players a voice, the NHLPA represents unity, fairness, and progress in professional hockey. Our challenge was to bring that legacy online — creating a modern, accessible, story-driven experience that connects with fans, players, agents, and media alike.
Built on Sanity.io and integrated with the NHL’s API, the new NHLPA website merges live data with editorial storytelling. The result is fast, responsive, and deeply human — balancing performance and narrative in equal measure.
Takt reimagined the site from the ground up, starting with UX and information architecture. We restructured content to serve multiple audiences seamlessly, transforming historically dense areas like the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) into clear, interactive, and contextual experiences.
Visually, this wasn’t a reinvention — it was a digital facelift that modernized the NHLPA’s established brand. Every page was treated as an editorial experience, combining motion, photography, and type to reflect the energy of the sport and the strength of the Association.
Central to the new platform is a chapter-based storytelling system, empowering the NHLPA team to create long-form narratives that blend text, video, and data into fluid, immersive pages. This framework brings depth to key sections such as the Ted Lindsay Legacy, Player Poll, Award Recipients, CBA, and International pages.
Under the hood, the site is built for longevity. Sanity’s headless architecture offers flexibility and control, while API integrations ensure the content always feels alive and current. Accessibility, speed, and editorial freedom were treated as non-negotiables from day one.
The result is a platform that honours Ted Lindsay’s legacy and positions the NHLPA for the future — a modern, player-first presence built to evolve with the game itself.

### NYU Casa Italiana | Brand + Website Project
A New Era for Italian Culture at NYU: Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò
At Takt, we transform purpose-driven organizations into iconic brands. Partnering with Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò (“Casa”) at NYU, we reimagined their legacy, blending Italian heritage with New York City’s cultural vibrancy to foster appreciation for the humanities.

Crafting Inclusivity Through Messaging
We began by aligning Casa’s identity within NYU’s brand, ensuring it resonated with diverse audiences. Rooted in Renaissance ideals of mutual respect and intellectual exploration, Casa’s narrative celebrates free events, documentaries, and cultural connection beyond borders.

Designing Italian Excellence
We balanced NYU’s iconic purple with design elements like Gotham font, evoking Italy’s elegance while integrating NYU’s modernity. This seamless blend preserved Casa’s unique identity within a cohesive visual strategy.

Results That Matter
The redesigned website delivered:

+70% Organic Search Traffic: Improved SEO increased global visibility.
+71% Page Views: Engaging design boosted interactions.
+80% Event Count: Streamlined UX encouraged participation.
+82% Total Sessions: Optimized flows kept users engaged longer.
+52% New Users: Enhanced search rankings attracted new audiences.

By uniting heritage, inclusivity, and innovation, Casa Italiana now stands as a cultural cornerstone at NYU, inspiring audiences to embrace Italian culture and the humanities.

### Primasun | Website Redesign Project
Waking the World Up to the Importance of Good Sleep
Primasun, an Alphabet precision health company, is revolutionizing sleep with cutting-edge technology and data-driven care management, all delivered through a seamless digital platform. Their mission: to reshape how we approach sleep and create a more efficient, equitable path to better rest.
In 2022, Primasun partnered with Takt to bring their vision to life online, needing an industry-defining website and a marketing campaign to spark a global conversation about sleep ahead of their product launch.
Building a Digital Foundation for Big Dreams
To achieve their goals, we focused on three priorities:

Expanding their visual identity to support bold marketing strategies.
Designing and developing a website that engaged diverse audiences with a world-class user experience.
Crafting multi-channel campaigns that reframed the narrative around sleep for both B2B and B2C audiences.

Our technological approach was deliberate and forward-thinking. Using a headless CMS, we integrated Contentful with Gatsby to create a hyper-secure, lightning-fast website. This dynamic platform was accessible, scalable, and flexible, with a modular design and component library enabling easy updates as Primasun evolved.
Multi-Channel Campaigns to Educate + Inspire
Our awareness campaign spanned Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit, challenging perceptions of sleep and driving traffic to Primasun’s Resource Hub. Engaging visuals, infographics, and relatable language simplified the science of sleep, making it accessible and actionable for B2C audiences.
Email drip campaigns kept pre-registered users engaged, while robust content plans targeted B2B and B2C segments, fostering excitement for Primasun’s app and sleep movement.
Awakening the World to Better Sleep
With a second-to-none website and strategic campaigns, Primasun earned three awards and ignited a global conversation about sleep’s critical role in health and well-being.

### Queen's Alumni Review
Background
Queen’s University needs no introduction. They are one of the top schools in the country with a reputation that punches well above its weight—locally and internationally. Founded prior to Canadian Confederation, for nearly 200 years Queen’s has produced some of the best and brightest minds in the 21st century. With a refresh of its physical publication underway, Queen’s asked Takt to help bring its new design to life online in a way that reflects the university’s bold, innovative, and pioneering spirit.

From paper to pixels
As a print publication, Queen’s Alumni Review is constrained to ink and parchment; a linear experience inherently limited in terms of interactivity. As an e-zine, we saw an opportunity to elevate QAR’s content with a platform that marries its reader’s insatiable appetite for high-quality content with all the advantages the web has to offer.
There’s no question the magazine’s print content was stunning, with editorial grids and blocks of text and imagery throughout its pages. However, these layouts didn’t lend themselves to digital. We needed a solution that kept the newly elevated design front and centre while working within the constraints of the responsive web. Our design team adapted the magazine’s layout, retaining the text-block aesthetic and ensuring Queen’s brand was meaningfully sustained across both print and digital, beyond just colour schemes and logos.
An intuitive navigation, paired with a robust site search and manageable content categorization offer a seamless user experience for readers. Guidelines for ongoing tagging and categorization by Queen’s internal team were also provided to ensure consistency over time.

Digital expectations, redefined
The end result is an industry-leading, best-in-class ezine that builds on the publication’s storied past and unparalleled reputation with intuitive workflows, stunning visuals, and flexible technology stack.

### Wonder Media Network's Award-Winning Web Design
Redefining Media Excellence: Wonder Media Network
Wonder Media Network (WMN), a women-owned podcast production studio based in NYC, has grown exponentially since its launch six years ago. Originally focused on amplifying underrepresented voices through mission-driven storytelling, WMN has evolved into a full-service creative agency specializing in audio. To reflect this strategic shift, WMN partnered with us to redesign their website, showcasing their dual identity as a mission-driven media company and a leading production house powered by a team of over 20 talented women.
ChallengeWMN’s previous website didn’t reflect their expanded capabilities or their evolution toward B2B services. The site needed to communicate their unique blend of creativity, technical expertise, and storytelling while highlighting the team behind their success. Competing in a space where many rely on templated designs and third-party audio players, WMN sought a custom, industry-defining platform to stand out.
SolutionWe collaborated closely with WMN to create a website that captured their pioneering spirit. Through stakeholder interviews and technical discovery, we defined a strategy emphasizing usability, accessibility, and originality. The site featured:

Custom Audio Players: Fully branded, immersive modules replaced generic media players.
Thoughtful Design: Smooth animations and interactive storytelling enhanced engagement without compromising performance or accessibility.
Seamless Collaboration: WMN’s team contributed content, while we crafted a modular design that reflects their mission and creativity.

ImpactThe final website positions WMN as a leader in audio production and storytelling, setting them apart with a sleek, responsive, and lightning-fast platform. Fully accessible and optimized for mobile, the site won three Web Excellence Awards in Entertainment, Media & News, and Podcasts. It continues to amplify WMN’s mission and showcases their evolution into a creative powerhouse.

### Nelson Civic Theatre | Brand Redesign Project
The Heart of Nelson: Culture Through Shared Values
For over a century, the Nelson Civic Theatre (NCT) has been more than a movie house—it’s a cultural cornerstone of Nelson, BC. Offering independent, foreign, and classic films alongside Hollywood hits, NCT goes beyond entertainment to enrich the community. Programs like student screenings, filmmaking workshops, and filmmaker discussions foster creativity and learning. The Rail Program further nurtures local talent, supporting the Kootenays’ growing film industry. After the pandemic, NCT faced a critical challenge: reconnecting with its community and reflecting a renewed vision. The Theatre needed a brand identity that embraced its transformation while celebrating its passion for culture. We partnered with NCT to craft a brand that honors Nelson’s spirit and the unifying power of cinema.
Listening to Nelson’s Heartbeat
Our process began by exploring NCT’s connection to the community:

Community Voices: Stakeholder interviews uncovered stories of shared emotions and cultural awakening, revealing the Theatre’s deep bond with patrons.
Beyond the Building: Environmental discovery highlighted NCT’s role as both a physical and cultural cornerstone of Nelson.
Collaborative Workshops: Stakeholders worked together to define NCT’s values, personality, and emotional essence.
Auditing the Brand: A review of messaging and visuals identified opportunities to align the brand with its evolving identity.

Designing a Mosaic of Inclusivity
NCT’s logo, inspired by mid-century art-deco and the golden age of film, features a mosaic symbolizing diversity and collaboration. Overlapping shapes and vibrant colors celebrate inclusivity and storytelling.
A Voice for the Community
The Civic’s messaging framework highlights its cultural impact. Its tagline, “A home for our imaginations,” captures its role as a space where stories come alive and creativity flourishes.

### International Centre for Criminal Law Reform (ICCLR)
A world leader in criminal law reform gets a digital overhaul.

### Agency Reel | 2020
Take a look at a few of the projects we've worked on recently.

### Raven Rescue
For over 40 years, BC-based Raven Rescue has built a hard-earned reputation as Canada's go-to source for safety and rescue services, equipment, and training.
Raven's digital presence serves multiple purposes with an expansive offering and nationwide reach. But the website serves an equally crucial operational role in facilitating business transactions such as product sales, safety course sign-ups, and consultation.
That said, over the years, with each iteration, Raven's website transformed into a frankensite; a digital spaghetti of disparate technologies and platforms that eventually began to work against its brand equity and decreased operational efficiency.
A powerful brand looking to achieve new heights
We began with a visual refresh of the Raven brand, guiding its Leadership team through various concepts before landing on their final logo. This logomark, paired with a bold typeface and vibrant colour palette, provided the bones of a broader visual language that communicates Raven's strength, passion, and commitment to protection and safety.
Untangling a technical nest of complexity
Raven's new website needed to facilitate business transactions and functions critical to its operations.
With its technical and operational needs clearly spelled out, we went to work architecting a technical stack built on WordPress (WooCommerce) with various best-of-breed booking, scheduling, and analytics tools.
Designed to lead
Of the various concepts presented, Raven chose the boldest; a confident and timeless design that marries the stunning imagery of Canada's diverse wilderness with a vibrant colour palette and a modern, minimalist typeface.
Naturally, the site's design needed to present beautifully across all devices and browsers and adhere to accessibility and performance best practices.
Together, these elements and conventions work seamlessly, elevating Raven's brand to new heights and creating ample distance between it and its competitors struggling to keep up.

### Stilhavn Real Estate Services
Building Vancouver’s Most Reputable Brokerage
In 2018, Zwick Chimes approached Takt with an ambitious goal: to create a brokerage exclusively for Vancouver’s top real estate teams. We helped launch Stilhavn, a brand that would redefine excellence. Large brokerages like RE/MAX and Sutton provide credibility and support for new agents, but for established teams, the value diminishes. The founding members of Stilhavn wanted something different—a brokerage built on quality over quantity, designed for high-performing agents with strong market presence.
A Brand Rooted in Story and Excellence
Our process started with workshops, interviews, and research to understand what top-performing agents and homebuyers wanted. The result was a brand that balanced prestige and approachability—aspirational yet deeply human.
During our brand-naming workshop, three themes emerged: Wayfinding, Sanctuary, and Transition. The name “Stilhavn” (a blend of “Still” and “Haven,” and the Danish translation of “Still Harbour”) captured the brand’s promise: expertise, calm, and confidence in the often-chaotic real estate process.
We then developed Stilhavn’s custom WordPress multi-site platform, creating an intuitive and visually striking home-hunting experience. Features included:

Custom MLS integration, linking property listings with local schools, parks, and dining.
Google tools for walk scores and transit details, plus Yelp and Yellow Pages for local amenities.
Saved favorites feature, increasing engagement and retention.

A Lifestyle-Driven Approach
Instagram became a curated gallery of West Coast-inspired imagery, reinforcing Stilhavn’s local identity. We also designed email templates, presentations, and branded materials, all aligned with Stilhavn’s themes of sanctuary, sophistication, and excellence.
