However, with a constructive view, there is always room for small adjustments that could make the journey even more fluid:

I met Waliff, one of the founders of Switch Dreams, at the Inova Summit in Brasília in mid-2023. At that time, I learned about their work but we did not move forward with any proposal. In December 2023, I reached out to them again because the software I was using did not meet all my needs, and I decided to completely overhaul my company's system with Switch Dreams. As a result, Switch Dreams had access to the entire idea that was implemented, but with their UX/UI design team, there was a complete restructuring of the user flow across the entire platform.
Thus, the new platform is completely different from the old one. In addition to the design work, they helped me regain access to the system's domain and resolved the issues I was having with the previous cloud service. In summary, Switch Dreams redesigned the entire platform, updated the technologies, moved the platform to a more cost-effective cloud provider, implemented and explained the entire devops logic and scalability for my new platform.

Fortunately, I did not have any issues with deadlines; in fact, they delivered ahead of schedule. I needed to expand the project scope, as I identified new requirements, and they promptly addressed these additional requests within the agreed timeframe. I had several technical questions during the project, and they assisted me via video calls to explain everything. The communication was transparent and efficient.

I approached Switch Dreams company with issues regarding my mailer, where users were registering but not receiving the confirmation emails. I found it very beneficial that, in addition to resolving the email problem, they suggested a messaging service that will provide more security for the scalability of the system.

Overall, they successfully resolved the email problems on my platform, which is a critical component as it is a social network. I greatly appreciated their communication, speed, and the price at which they delivered the solution.

To begin with, the email service was not functioning, and it couldn't afford to be offline as it would result in user loss. Switch Dreams treated the matter with great urgency and resolved it swiftly to ensure uninterrupted system usability. I consider it a success due to the speed at which it was delivered, the implemented messaging service, and the system being utilized by other users with the mailer functioning correctly and more efficiently.

In fact, they delivered before the promised deadline, which was highly beneficial for my case. I had excellent communication with them from the requirements meeting to the final project delivery. They explained every step of the service to me, and at the end of the project, they provided a comprehensive report containing all the information and modifications made. It was like a guide that taught me how to operate the new tool effectively.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I will hire Switch Dreams to carry out maintenance and some improvements to the university's mentoring program platform. The decisive factor in hiring them was due to the fact that many of the company's members had been the developers of the platform, at the time when they worked in the university's junior computer engineering company.

Since August 2021, we have made different changes/improvements to the platform in relation to the video calling and gamification system, user pairing management, among others. The work was carried out in 2-week sprints with on-time deliveries.

Switch Dreams is a safe haven in the IT waters for me. We wanted to provide one of our clients with an analytical dashboard so we could assess their numbers and share financial feedback. We also wanted them to have access to organize their numbers within a database. We didn’t have the in-house development support to carry out the project, so we engaged Switch Dreams to help.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Switch Dreams has built a platform that enables our clients to access and visualize their data within a dashboard. They developed the tool from scratch using Ruby on Rails, Sidekick, Redis, and Digital Ocean. 

The platform has a feature that scrapes Excel files and transfers them into a PostgreSQL database. They’ve combined lines from millions of files and parsed them into the database, making it easier for us to access client data within dashboards.

They continue to host and maintain the platform for us. 

What is the team composition?

We work with the CEO, Pedro (Co-Founder), two senior team members, and a junior developer.

How did you come to work with Switch Dreams?

I’d worked with Pedro before, and he did a fantastic job. When the opportunity arose, I asked him to help us with this project, and he introduced me to the Switch Dreams team. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested roughly $1,300 in the partnership with Switch Dreams. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with Switch Dreams in May 2022, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Switch Dreams has done a great job with the project. The platform they created has made it easier for us to visualize and manipulate data; I have easy access to all the data I need. We’ve conducted an audit to ensure the files converge with the numbers in the database, and they’ve been pretty accurate, so I’d say the project has been successful. 

How did Switch Dreams perform from a project management standpoint?

Switch Dreams has used a Scrum methodology; they’ve orchestrated weekly sprints and delivered everything on time. They’re very experienced and have provided realistic estimates when developing new features.

We typically communicate via Google Meet and WhatsApp. They’ve been very accessible throughout the project, and they’ve been quick to fix bugs. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been most impressed by their dedication to the project. The Switch Dreams team has listened to us from day one, analyzed our goals, and provided clear, efficient solutions. 

Even if something is outside the project scope, they go the extra mile to ensure the work meets our expectations. They’re very flexible and have consistently delivered results on or before schedule. 

I’ve worked with other software development houses who’ve overcharged for their working hours, but Switch Dreams is very trustworthy. They’ve been very transparent regarding time and cost estimates, which we appreciate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Since Switch Dreams has solid backend expertise, so if I had to choose something they could improve on, it would be their frontend skills. When we’ve given them designs, they’ve executed them, but there’s always room for improvement.

Our software was created 4 years ago and Switch Dreams was in all stages of the process giving us full support, fast support, dedicated professionals with a high degree of knowledge in the area, always bringing the best and newest technologies on the market.

Switch Dreams took the dream off paper and turned it into reality, the project aims to measure the knowledge of public school students in Brazil and help teachers and managers to create pedagogical strategies to improve teaching in the municipality and the evolution of learning of children.

SOLUTION

How did you select Switch Dreams and what were the deciding factors?

We searched for dreamy developers and willing to fulfill the dream together with us, I met the team that today composes Switch Dreams still at the federal college of Brasilia, they have been there since the beginning of the project, trust was being consolidated at each meeting and each part of the project delivered , always on the correct deadlines and even before the dates.

The developed system consists of an education platform with several functionalities such as: library, question bank, virtual rooms, pedagogical reports and others. The EduQ Brasil platform has been in the care of Switch Dreams for 1 year and a half, and the company does everything from the design of the solutions architecture, to the development and implementation.

EduQ Brasil was developed in Ruby on Rails using current technologies and tools such as kubernetes, websocket, sentry, RSPEC, Rubocop, CI/CD and others.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After the site finally reached the end user, we had great customer support, we jumped from 5,000 users to 100,000 users, it was incredible.

They use scrum as a reference for better organization, meetings twice a week and every week they present us with updates within the site through meetings and detailed videos.

Small bugs, but nothing they didn't fix quickly.
