I'm a partner for a medical billing software startup.

What challenge were you trying to address with Susco Solutions?

We hired Susco Solutions to develop our software.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We engaged with them to discuss who we are as a company and what we’re trying to achieve, and then had an initial onboarding meeting where we went over our specific needs and goals in detail.

We had initially built out a database across multiple Excel workbooks that we shared with them to explain the generic scope of the project. Throughout many meetings, we developed the project's scope and agreed on what would be done moving forward.

We moved into a development phase which took about a year that included testing and debugging, which led to a rollout and additional add-ons. We’re currently rolling out the initial phases of the project and have begun phase two.  

The software is built from scratch using C# and .NET, and the database is based out of Azure. Susco Solutions has also been providing us with training on the Azure database and SQL queries, along with third-party apps like SendGrid and Braintree. 

The primary function of the software is to log daily medical time entries across a number of users, and there is a reporting structure that has been built into it using SQL. The software also contains specific client demographic information that we’re collecting and tracking while following medical authorizations and monitoring usage of those. 

What is the team composition?

We work directly with about six people from Susco Solutions. This includes the director of projects, two project managers, two developers, and a senior software engineer. 

How did you come to work with Susco Solutions?

They were recommended to us by our PR consultants. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $240,000 so far. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in January 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Based on the data that we have, we’ve seen turnaround savings and error reduction.

How did Susco Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been providing us with excellent project management. They have very strong communication skills, and everyone on their team is great about staying in touch, giving updates, and responding professionally to everything we have given them. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve helped us understand what we need and how to understand the transformation of our vision into the actual program. They’ve involved us in the process and haven’t just told us what to do. Susco Solutions has been quick to accommodate everything we’ve needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We think they could work a bit more on understanding the client and how they want information delivered at the beginning of the process. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be as detailed as possible because the more information you give them, the more successful they will be.
