We have yet to launch the company so I cannot speak to the final results, but they have completed the development of the platform and the app.

We needed to build an iOS and Android app. We also needed it to have a portal and dashboard, each with different security restrictions. It also had to be written in Portuguese.

What were your goals for this project?

We had to develop a grievance platform where citizens could share issues and concerns, and seek resolution from the government. They process had to be quick, simple, and transparent to drive utilization.

How did you select this vendor?

They were recommended to us. After they responded to an RFP, we visited with them, saw a demo of the product, and made our decision.

They developed an iOS and Android app that was able to log grievances and enabled citizen’s to check the status of their grievance. They also created a portal where people could register. Finally, the app had to be able to communicate with the Grievance Management System (GMS).

What was the team composition?

We had a project manager, five full-stack developers, a tester, an Android and iOS developer and a database administrator.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They’ve filled the RFP and presented a demo solution. They’re working with the Agile methodology and using Basecamp to manage the project. They’re developing wireframes, logo concepts, and designing a website. Moving forward, they will be doing testing, analytics and payment gateway integration. Finally, they will deploy and maintain the app and portal.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their in-house team fulfilled our tight timelines and exceeded our expectations. They’re capable of delivering a high-quality, scalable application that met industry security standards.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their quality management, security, and maturity in writing an enterprise level product stood out to us. They’re flexible and confident enough to deliver a complex product on a short timeline.

I can’t think of anything.

They designed sample choices for a logo and developed the two apps' UX/UI based on the chosen logo. They created an administrative interface and took us step-by-step to show its functions. Their project manager scheduled milestones, and their team developed the Android, iOS, and web apps. Their team carefully listened to our feedback, gave us technical advice, and then made necessary changes throughout the project.

They listened to our concerns but also stuck to their expertise. The EngineerBabu team created high-quality apps and met all deadlines. They were flexible and respond quickly to changing demands. As problem solvers, they created creative solutions and challenged ideas when it didn't seem feasible.

Their team has a lot of experience and understand how to mold ideas into real products. They were a very professional team and our workflow was excellent.

They are startup friendly and will take the time to listen and adjust to your needs. They will advise you on your options and take care of daily tasks. Their project manager is great and will ease your worries about product delivery.

Our project manager made a good effort to answer all our questions, but some issues took a long time to resolve.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After nearly a month of conducting our marketing campaign, they gained 100 new Instagram followers. Originally, we had 200 followers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t feel like the team has a concrete plan or strategy that I can follow. I’d prefer more concrete outcomes from their marketing services. They always seem to avoid answering my questions about matters like key performance indicators (KPIs). They should meet deadlines within the stated timeline and improve the project’s quality.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of EngineerBabu’s greatest strengths is that they always reply to our questions. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any solutions yet.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I wouldn’t recommend them to clients with similar needs. I haven’t seen the results I expected from my investment within the timeline so far.

It was actually the fundamentals of the actual operation that we wanted to accomplish on the app. It was about the specific details, and seeing if they had the capabilities of producing such a product.

It's a social media and video chat application that we're working on. We wanted our own IP [Internet protocol] on it, so we discussed some of the details to make sure that they're all sustainable. We went over the application and the details of what we wanted, and then made sure that they had the capabilities for doing it. Then, we went through each subject of the operation, and finally we made sure they had the personnel able to do that. Then, we went through a timeline process, pricing, and making sure those were satisfactory for both parties. The application was both for iOS and Android.

We gave a brief description of what we're trying to accomplish, and after that we set up a Skype call. We spoke a little bit more about it to make sure that what I said and what he understood fell in the same boat, going in the same direction.

The project began six months ago [March 2015], and it is still ongoing. It is semi-finished, but we made some changes on it and revamped some ideas.

EngineerBabu IT Services surpassed what we needed. Their communication is great. We used Basecamp and different means of communication to make sure my team and their entire team is involved. We get to see updates of what's producing, comments, and so on. They're a very good team, and I highly recommend them.

I think it's their feedback and response time for my questions. That's their specialty, whereas ours is more business management, platform type. But, as far as giving good feedback, they always say what the capabilities are, or whether this is doable. Their communication skills are very good.

I know they are a relatively young company, but they have excellent people working for them. I think it would be more of something where they would give a suggestion as far as thinking out of the box. We have brainstorming sessions where we come up with all sorts of things, and we're thinking whether it is doable or not, and then we ask them. I wish they would suggest more input from their side. They do exactly what we want them to do, which is not an issue, but we would like more unique suggestions from their side. I don't know if that's a matter of not wanting to cross the wrong road, or maybe because they want to excel at what they do. Like I said, what they do is very good, and they do exactly what we want them to do.
