The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the founder of the Buddy application.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire EngineerBabu?
We needed resources to develop a travel app for iOS and Android.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to create an app that would benefit all travelers who are fond of exploring new places.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
After proposing our idea to EngineerBabu, we discussed the app with the technical team, and they gave us a quote. We then presented them with a demo and development plan, which their project manager used to establish regular milestones. Once we tested their technical competency, we felt confident that their skills aligned with our needs.
Describe the project in detail.
EngineerBabu developed an iOS/Android app that allows customers to learn more about travel destinations and connect with local guides called buddies.
The app features two modules: a customer side and a buddy side. After registering, customers can view a detailed list of available buddies on the home screen. They can then select a buddy, exchange information, and interact with them (e.g., chat, photo, video).
Buddies must also sign up to act as local guides. They submit their personal details and payment information through the app for an admin to approve. Once they join the buddy network, they’re free to accept or deny guide requests from customers.
Other functionalities include voice messaging, document sharing, and location sharing. EngineerBabu also integrated a payment system along with a rating system so that customers could rate each buddy.
What was the team composition?
They assigned a project manager, two full-stack developers, a tester, an Android/iOS developer, and a database administrator.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
EngineerBabu completed the app with great expertise, and everything is running well. Our product helps people learn about different cities by allowing users to quickly find local guides.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The project was well-coordinated using Basecamp, so we could see our progress at every step of the process.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was most impressed by their input and fast replies. Their technical team is hardworking, and they suggested ways to improve our project model to make it more efficient.
Are there any areas for improvement?
They’re great, but they’ll have to increase their team size as time goes on.

EngineerBabu designed and developed an event discovery platform that utilizes GPS integrated software. They built native mobile apps for both iOS and Android. The backend consists of a PHP framework.
EngineerBabu delivered a polished application and landing page. Users appreciate the intuitive and engaging frontend interface. Executive-level engagement facilitates a collaborative and communicative experience. Their developers create high-quality code for an affordable price.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of Showground. We're a music event discovery application. Our software allows users to browse festivals through an approach that’s not possible on similar apps. The platform also contains tools to help streamline the booking process for artists and venues.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with EngineerBabu?
As the company founder, I started with an idea and some drawings. I needed a qualified development firm to build the app from the ground up.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
EngineerBabu led the app development process every step of the way. Their designers created the software’s frontend interface based on the wireframes I provided. Then, the developers handled all the technical requirements. That included understanding our needs and recommending a framework that could deliver. They built the native application for iOS and Android using Swift and Java, respectively. The backend was built using CodeIgniter and a PHP framework. They helped develop that app’s landing page to coincide with the platform’s launch.
Despite the platform only being an MVP at the moment, they programmed a feature that lets users log in to our software from Facebook, Spotify, or Google. The apps current build is designed for users in the Seattle area that want information regarding upcoming live music events. EngineerBabu implemented GPS features within the app to create an experience tailored toward our specific market. Once the app gets more users and traction, we’ll likely be working together full-time. The platform will need a lot of support in the future.
What is the team composition?
I interacted with the CEO, a director, a project manager, the lead software developer, and a designer. They assigned additional resources as needed.
How did you come to work with EngineerBabu?
While I have a background in managing engineers, my experience doesn’t include software development. So, I considered taking a programming boot camp to get my project off the ground. My research led me to one of EngineerBabu’s blogs. It seemed like they had the resources available to help me, so I contacted them. Our relationship evolved from there.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $47,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The majority of their involvement with us took place from May–October 2018.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve only been live on The App Store for a month, so it’s too early for accurate metrics. I’m working on using the app to build up its database of artists, but it’s a bad time of the year for shows due to all the holidays. Thus far, people have reacted positively to app’s visual design and fluidity.
How did EngineerBabu perform from a project management standpoint?
They use Mantis Bug Tracker to document coding issues and assign QA resources. If anything crashes the app, it immediately reports the problem back to EngineerBabu. Most of the bugs I’ve noticed are a result of trying new approaches and working through potential iterations. The approval process took some time to optimize, but we figured out the best way to handle everything.
Overall, the project manager did a great come keeping the process organized. The whole team was easy to get ahold of and open to collaboration. We used Basecamp to track assignments, but I’d mainly communicate with them via Skype, WhatsApp, or email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciate EngineerBabu’s competitive pricing. Considering the design quality they delivered, I can’t believe what I received for the price I paid. They’re a valuable resource, so I hope to continue leveraging them in the future.
Are there any areas they could improve?
At the moment, I can’t say for sure that everything was properly documented. However, I plan to review that with them soon. However, they’re staying involved with the platform, so I’m not worried about a subsequent project handoff.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure to understand the project’s requirements and communicate that to EngineeringBabu. Open lines of communication are especially important when not working with a team side-by-side. To that end, I recommend asking for updates frequently to ensure that miscommunications are kept to a minimum.

EngineerBabu was contracted to deliver a responsive e-commerce site with multiple communication integrations (WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger). They were also asked to include B2B order forms.
After a lengthy delay, EngineerBabu launched a non-functional site that was unable to take orders. They declined to resolve the issue and instead suggested other development options. Their lack of accountability and proactive communication caused significant scheduling and financial setbacks.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m a project manager at Major Life Style Pvt Ltd. We’re a garment manufacturing company that manufactures and export all kinds of women’s wear.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire EngineerBabu?
We needed to develop a dynamic, mobile-responsive e-commerce site.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to launch our fashion brand with a site that allows customers to mix and match styles and prints in their garments.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We read amazing reviews of EngineerBabu on various websites. They seemed knowledgeable when we discussed the project and assured me they could deliver everything as requested.
Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?
They developed the site’s backend admin panel and frontend. Unlike a normal e-commerce site, we wanted to implement non-traditional features such as B2B order forms and WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger integrations. The website was supposed to be completely mobile responsive and dynamic.
What was the team composition?
We were supposed to have a senior graphic designer, a web designer, a backend designer, a frontend designer, a tester, a project manager, and a server expert. However, only 2–3 people worked on the project.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
EngineerBabu delivered after a four-month delay, launching a bug-filled site that was incapable of taking orders. We’d already submitted 90% of their payment at that point.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
They mismanaged every part of the project, which led to heavy losses for us. They didn’t take charge of updating me about their progress, so I was forced to call their project manager about everything.
After they delivered a non-functioning product well past the deadline, I reached out to their management. They told me they’d waive the final 10% of the payment and suggested I hire a freelancer to finish the project.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
There was nothing. On the other hand, I felt disappointed working with them.
Are there any areas where they can improve?
They ought to improve their project and client management, product development, payments, and on-time delivery processes.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m a national coordinator at Tata Consultancy Services. We’re an IT consultancy group with offices located internationally.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire EngineerBabu?
We needed resources to build a system that we could use to verify our prospective employees’ credentials. Users would access the system through an online portal. The main area of development included data analytics, process improvement, and security.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to make a robust system using the latest technology to help automate some of our hiring processes.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
A friend referred them to me, so I reached out to them and talked with two of their clients. After looking at some samples of their code, I decided to go with them.
Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?
Since thousands of people needed to access the portal, we focused on implementing security measures and maintenance functions. They built the system using Angular, Node, and MongoDB and tracked the QA using Mantis Bug Tracker and Git. The final product featured record management, data analytics, and automated emails for specific triggers.
What was the team composition?
We worked with a project manager, three backend developers, a frontend developer, a QA tester, and a cross-platform developer.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
Their team did a wonderful job, demonstrating serious commitment and fast execution. The system currently handles over 90,000 users and works smoothly.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Unlike other IT companies that have good developers but lack strong project management, EngineerBabu provided an experienced delivery head. The team was professional from day one, delivering quality work within the established time frame. Occasionally, there were minor performance issues. However, they responded promptly to address those challenges. In terms of communication, we collaborated using Skype.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I appreciated their fast delivery, well-structured project management, and strong end product. They were a great value for our money.

Working within an aggressive timeline and complex project scope, EngineerBabu designed and developed the HTML pages for a frontend. They completed the project in nearly half of the standard time requirement.
EngineerBabu employed detailed, organized project management; rapid, responsive communication; and immediate bug identification and resolution. Although overall communication can be improved, the team offered direct access to developers and adhered to all milestones.Â

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the co-founder and CTO for Open Money. Located in Mumbai and Bengaluru, Open is a financial technology startup that focuses on empowering micro entrepreneurs to manage cash flows, automate accounting, and obtain easy access to credit lines.Â
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire EngineerBabu?
We hired them to create the HTML pages for our frontend.Â
What were your goals for this project?
Our primary goal was to meet an aggressive timeline. The project’s complexity required at least 60-90 days for completion, but we wanted it in 45.Â
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We had had some disappointing experiences with previous vendors regarding low quality work or overpriced quotes, so we were particularly cautious. We shared our previous experiences with them and discussed our requirements, specifically the timeline. The EngineerBabu team took the challenge head-on. Â Â
Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?
They laid out the initial plan and provided all project management. They used a central Git repository to track updated codes for us to test and maintained a Zoho sheet for bug tracking. Because of our strict timeline, we used WhatsApp for quick communication, and all issues were reported and resolved in real time.
What was the team composition?
The team included one project manager, one web designer, and two frontend developers.Â
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The project was developed on time.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
After the project manager established an execution plan and explicit milestones, they followed a standard management process. Modules were divided into tasks, and tasks were divided among teams and allocated fixed timelines. The whole project was divided into three sprints, and Excel sheets with detailed work scopes were maintained for each sprint.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We appreciated the direct access to developers. Â
Are there any areas where they can improve?
They need to improve their communication.
