I am the Business Solutions Manager for a fintech and financial services company based in Toronto, Canada, and active in the payments & money transfer sectors and related financial services

For what projects/services did your company hire Streamline, and what were your goals?

We wanted to enhance our current mobile applications in conjunction with a new web based offering. Also, we needed to develop a new Android based product to address a new market opportunity.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We conducted a search for Canadian based application development firms. Five (5) potential firms were shortlisted from ~ 30 reviewed and those were reviewed in detail. The decision was based largely based on comfort with the vendor personnel, understanding of our needs, style of engagement.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope of work was defined by an earlier customer experience review of existing mobile applications. A detailed spec was developed by us for the new versions. The design for the new mobile application was developed jointly over multiple joint working sessions.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The Vendor project manager was our primary contact along with occasional engagement of one of their architect's and a developer. The company president was involved in early discussions and periodically throughout the process.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are still development at this point. The upgraded iOS application ready for deployment, updated Android application is in development and testing. The new Android application is in the detail design stage. We are progressing pretty much as expected.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The Vendor PM is easy to communicate with and is engaged through at least bi-weekly status update calls. As the vendor is remote to us most interaction is conducted via Zoom and email. Any impacts to delivery are quickly communicated and addressed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We appreciated their insights into the business processes that might impact the design and implementation of our solutions. They are most willing to advise on our implementation plans vis-à-vis our web implementation inspite of not being directly involved.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Both parties (us and the vendor) could have been more diligent in early verification the the code base for the applications. Lesson learned.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Streamline has helped us build our booking software using Java, going through all of the development phases from beginning to end. We already went through the alpha testing, and we’re currently beta testing the product.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The biggest success we’ve had working with Streamline is having our product built at a good price. Their services are a lot more economical than the other companies I contacted.

How did Streamline perform from a project management standpoint?

Streamline has done a good job managing the project. They use Excel to manage the project, and we communicate via email, phone calls, and video calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The price of Streamline’s services is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if Streamline improved their follow-up.

Make sure that you constantly follow up with them.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Streamline has been doing custom software development for us using .NET. They’ve built a technical spec with special follow-through on them — their team implements all our change requests, customizing them according to our expectations. In terms of functionalities, therapists use the software to measure the alliance between a client and a patient.

It has been a good relationship so far with positive results.

How did Streamline perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management has been great, and they’re good at handling tools. Regarding communication, we’ve used Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a trustworthy team and give us good value for our money.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.

For what projects/services did your company hire Streamline, and what were your goals?

We have a healthcare supply chain analytics platform and wanted to develop a set of supply chain workflow features, specifically a multiparty reconciliation module.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found them through search engines while looking for outsourced development shops with specific expertise in health care supply chain management. The latter was the critical factor but their rate structure utilizing both onshore and offshore resources was a positive.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope included a full outsourcing of the development of the reconciliation module as including back end database updates and integration into the existing application workflow. The project was a mix of waterfall and agile with detailed requirements documentation and screen mockups, while the development has been more agile with weekly stand ups.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There are three people on the core team, a SME, a senior architect and a technical delivery lead.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project is ongoing however individual deliverables such as the requirements document and wire frames have been high quality and produced on a timely basis. The main positive outcome has been the discovery of requirements and elimination of some requirements based on the SME/Architect's domain knowledge.

Project management is somewhat informal with spreadsheet tracking. They are very communicative and hands-on.

Domain knowledge.

Project tracking of time/fees against milestones.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve created worldwide programs before, but this one superseded them significantly.  Streamline is way ahead in the behavioral healthcare and medical community to help people who have been intergenerationally traumatized. It’s the most cutting-edge, profound work I’ve encountered, and I’m a lived experience professional.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a competency-based modality of care that is yet to be embraced by the world. Overall, they’re at the forefront of any type of behavioral health and treatment program. Streamline takes it to a level where people can understand what’s really going on in their lives today, and they know that it’s more about our physiology and nervous system than beliefs.

No, we’re working toward that right now.
