We work with Startling to develop our Wordpress websites

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Starling was introduced to us via another trusted design agency who also use their services.

We always start off by providing as much detail as we can about the website requirements. This covers website size, functionalities, goals, purposes, design elements etc. in order to get an accurate estimate. We also provide rough timeline requirements and once a project is accepted we make a more concrete deadline/schedule. Once we have designed the website we hand over the prototype/assets/etc. and let them get to work. If there are any questions or issues they are communicated quickly and clearly. The results are always spot on!

We mainly work directly with Andrew.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Clients have loved the ability to review the website and see it in action before it is sent live.

Timelines are always clearly defined and met. Communication is swift and clear via Slack and email. Website review platform is easy to use.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to follow the design and functionality of the prototype. It may seem like a table stake but you'll be surprised how many people are unable to follow such direction.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

If i had to nit-pick it would be to have a more defined way of providing revisions on a draft website.

We needed to update and customize our shopify website entirely. Starling was hired because of their effective communication and project management skills to work with our web designers to better layout our product offerings and improve site speed and the customer experience.

Starling came highly referred by a friend who had used them and were very happy with their services.

Implementation of a new shopify template as a baseline and to build out the customizations for navigation, home page, and product page. Integrations of apps, creating customized product variant options, search capabilities, and so much more.

A project manager worked with us and a developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After launching our new site, the customer journey improved and led to better conversions and less confusion.

Our project was managed using Asana and we held weekly and bi-weekly meetings to stay on the same page.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Starling was super knowledgeable and effectively communicated our development options to us as we presented the problems we were trying to solve. They worked very well with our internal team. They've demonstrated great communication and professionalism.

Gave us insight as to how many hours they were billing shadings our retainer so we could budget each month.

None.

I am the firm's business development director, which also includes all marketing functions.

For what projects/services did your company hire Starling, and what were your goals?

We engaged Starling Digital when our firm merged with another firm and re-branded. In the beginning, the scope was just to revise our site to reflect our new brand. Over the past few months, we've been working on some additional projects including new copy, SEO, design, and user interface.

Starling was referred to me from a local video company I've worked with.

The scope of our projects have changed over the years we've been with Starling, starting from a basic re-brand and retainer to keep our site up-to-date to more involved projects like a total re-write, CX and UX audit, implementing SEO strategies, and a standalone API integration project. Our site is built on Wordpress.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Three - the owner who is my main contact, a developer who has worked on various projects and now a new partner/copywriter who has joined the team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our site continues to grow in terms of users and visibility. I trust that Starling always keeps us up-to-date on best practices and implements any updates we need. I anticipate much better organic search results when we launch the new site we're working on now.

Andrew and Ally are always available to help when I need them. We have regular check-in meetings and have now incorporated a project management tool to keep us on track.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The working relationship I have with Starling is impressive and unique. Of all the various vendors I use in my role, Starling is the longest-tenured and most trusted.
