SparkMinds handled full mobile build from architecture through launch. Discovery phase mapped existing backend APIs and flagged areas needing new endpoints. That saved discovering gaps mid development.

Key deliverables included card management module with instant freeze and unfreeze, transaction feed with real time updates and merchant enrichment, receipt capture with automatic matching and sync to accounting integrations, employee onboarding flow tied to KYC process, and spending policy engine letting finance admins set limits by team, category, or merchant. Admin companion app also built for finance teams to approve expenses and adjust limits without logging into desktop.

Tech stack was React Native for app, Node.js on backend layer connecting to existing services, and PostgreSQL for data layer. Direct integration with Visa issuing APIs happened without cutting corners on cardholder data compliance.

Work is still ongoing. First phase launched in three markets, and additional features are being built out now.

App went live in three markets first, then expanded. Card freeze requests that used to take minutes now happen instantly. Receipt matching that used to require manual intervention now resolves automatically for majority of transactions. Support tickets tied to basic card controls dropped noticeably in first two months after launch, letting team focus on higher value issues.

Employee adoption exceeded first quarter projections. Finance teams using admin view reported approving expenses and adjusting limits without opening laptop, which was one main thing wanted solved. Onboarding flow for new employees went from multi step process with several manual touchpoints to something happening almost entirely inside app.

App store ratings for both iOS and Android improved significantly compared to previous version. Fewer crashes, faster load times, better performance on older devices, which mattered for larger enterprise clients.

More features are still being rolled out as part of ongoing work.

Deadlines were met. Change request for receipt matching logic mid sprint got assessed, revised timeline delivered within a day, and launch date held. Communication direct and honest. If something was going to take longer than expected, word came early rather than at deadline.

Same rhythm continues now that project is in ongoing phase.

They understood financial services. Not something to assume with every development shop. Right questions asked about license, cardholder data environment, and how compliance team would review app before launch. Security treated as part of build, not layer to add later.

Other thing standing out was handover. Codebase documented, knowledge transfer sessions ran with internal team, and app could be maintained and extended without needing SparkMinds for every small change. That is rare. Lot of agencies want dependency. SparkMinds did opposite.

Honestly, not much would change. If anything, starting compliance review process even earlier would have helped, but that was as much on Mynt side as theirs. They were responsive when raised and adjusted timeline to accommodate extra review cycles. Experience smooth so far, and continuing work with them feels like right call.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We didn’t have experience with AI, so we didn’t anticipate the challenges of building an AI-powered cancer detection system. However, they delivered a functional product, and our investor is very happy with the results.
We now have over 1,000 users and plan to work with SparkMinds J.S.C. in the future based on the feedback we’ve received.

Their project manager was highly experienced and provided regular updates. Weekly tasks were assigned and completed using a shared task list on Jira. We were able to monitor progress, which was especially important for my CTO.

At the beginning of the project, we visited their office for a few days to get to know the team and ensure alignment. During development, they shared design mockups via UXPin, allowing us to provide feedback online. We communicated primarily through email and held weekly Skype video calls.

Unlike other companies we have worked with in the past, SparkMinds J.S.C. organized workshops with us and maintained steady communication. Because of this, I have already referred them to other customers.  They are quite intelligent and work at an astonishing speed. Just by sharing an idea, they can quickly outline a framework for the product, including essential features as well as additional features (beyond the initial requirements) to enhance the product. Since we work in a resource-based hiring model, everything is responded to at 100% speed.

The scope included secure private key management, multiparty computation (MPC), biometric authentication, cryptocurrency transfers through wallet addresses and QR codes, in-app token swaps, and support for multiple blockchain networks.They also implemented supporting features such as an AI-powered support assistant, transaction history, and push notifications. Beyond feature development, the team contributed to technical decision-making, iterative testing, feedback implementation, and overall product refinement to ensure the wallet remained both secure and easy to use.
