Toastmasters was suffering from both a neglect of its core systems (some of which were well past end of life) and a need for a complete overhaul of its user interfaces and strategy for data management.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

This vendor was sourced by a former colleague, who was overseeing the migration of our ERP platform to Microsoft Dynamics.

He contracted a vendor to support this project that he was familiar with, and this vendor highly recommended Sourceved when my colleague mentioned that I was seeking a vendor in support of our web and cloud management applications.

After meeting with Sourceved, we brought both them and another vendor onboard on a trial basis. Sourceved far outperformed the other vendor. Their velocity was extraordinarily high and far exceeded that of the other vendor, and the quality of their work was fantastic.

As a result I ultimately terminated the contract with the other vendor and expanded our relationship with Sourceved.

Velocity and quality have both been very high throughout our relationship with Sourceved.

We use Azure devops to track the work of these team. Sourceved worked actively on product teams operating using a scrum framework and also participated in projects using kanban. These frameworks were chosen by Toastmasters to manage these activities.

Sourceved did an excellent job of ensuring that their work items were properly updated in devops, attending daily scrum meetings, etc.

I am one of the founding partners at Logic Pursuits, a boutique technology consulting firm based in Illinois. I oversee our business across our channels within the digital space, including the digital/cloud transformation, data analytics & automation, and the risk advisory area.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sourceved Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd?

One of the market offerings we have is around content management services for the clients here in the U.S. Sourceved is sort of our tech partner or implementation partner. They bring a lot of expertise, specifically in the areas of technology such as Sitecore, as well as some emerging web technologies.

I’ve used them for my own organization and to deliver services for the end customers, purely for their expertise, years of experience, and the wealth of knowledge they bring.

Secondly, they're based in India, so that helps manage time expectations because we get to work pretty much around the clock — another big piece is about the cost element.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We leveraged them for two projects. Both were in the space where the client wants to upgrade their digital presence, in addition to managing their content.

One company is like a local community center where they push a lot of content for the local members, while the other one is very specific to a wildlife type of scenario, where they promote special programs or educational-based programs for subscribed members — Sourceved helps both clients enhance their digital presence by upgrading their current website. 

Secondly, we use a platform called Sitecore for content management services. By doing that, they’re able to be more agile for quick transformation and the promotion of their content. 

There’s no lagging with Sourceved. For example, if they have some programs coming up, they’re able to quickly use the Sitecore technology or set up a platform that we deliver. With their experience working with larger corporations, they’re able to suggest the best technologies, as well as manage the technical requirements for the end-users and clients.

What is the team composition?

For the first project was spread out across the span of eight months. In total, we dealt with around six developers and senior members of the team on an on and off basis. There were many who kicked off the project and the professionals that onboarded, but on average, six people on that engagement.

The other one was a smaller project that got delivered in like four months. There were about four people throughout the engagement time.

How did you come to work with Sourceved Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd?

I came across Sourceved by doing some research and with some referrals from Sitecore itself. There are only a few companies in India right now that have core expertise in the Sitecore platform, and some of them work in large Fortune 100 environments — which is definitely very costly for our clients.

Sourceved came out pretty on the cost front and expertise — they even surpassed the agency that we were looking at as an alternative. After we got on a call with them, we realized we have other common connections working with some other Indian agencies as well.

How much have you invested with them?

The first project ranged from $100,000–$250,000. The second one ranged from $40,000–$60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Both projects were delivered last year. The first one started during the pandemic, which was around June, all the way to early this year. On that one, they still provide us with post-support implementation for technical upgrades and whatnot.

We started the second project towards the end of last year, and we don’t get too much post-implementation or ongoing support for that one.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their expertise really drove the success of the project. The founders were very well-grounded with this type of engagement, and their contribution in terms of the planning really helped drive the success — in the sense of setting the right expectation for the deliverables.

Moreover, the quality of the product is top-notch — if I were to hire a higher agency to do the work, there would not be much difference. In fact, they have surpassed their capability in some areas of development.

They have a very strong command of the technology, which I believe is what drove the success of the project — their experience also drove the planning phase and the core development activities. The third major piece is the cost that they charged for the services. All in all, everything worked out nicely in both engagements.

How did Sourceved Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

The founder is so well-grounded, as the planning really contributed a significant role in driving the success. Having skilled people really helped to execute the plan and as I said, the first project was a little larger in size and took a bit of time — the second one was relatively smaller, but they, together with my team, figured out the best way to work so that it doesn't hamper the deliverable, timeline, and project management mandate.

We use Excel and PowerPoint to track the budget, project, and the different activities — they also used a development schedule-based tool, but that was too technical for me.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One is their approach to design. Bringing the right skilled people really wowed the customers.

The second thing is their technical know-how, which is what’s happening behind the scenes. How they've structured the whole website and how they manage that content on an ongoing basis is a really seamless and pleasant experience from the end-user perspective.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One of the feedbacks I would share is on the educational front. Sitecore is coming up with a lot of new advanced features, and core capabilities in the space of running digital campaigns embedded with reporting features.
