I'm the CTO of an IT Managed Services Provider (MSP) with circa 200 people and 5 locations within the UK.

As our business is growing and acquiring other MSPs, we need a way to share the products and services that we offer amongst a wide range of people. Importantly we wanted it to be easily accessible, user friendly and to work with a partner that could offer us advice rather than just product what we thought we wanted.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
A referral from a colleague provided the introduction to SourceCode and we selected them based on their consultative approach, clear understanding of our needs and demonstratable experience solving similar problems.

We had an initial kick-off meeting to ensure that everyone was on the same page and from there the team were able to build an initial proof of concept (Poc). The PoC was reviewed by our working group to identify any areas that needed adjusting and we were then able to feed this back to the SourceCode team via our assigned project manager.
The customised Wordpress solution provided an easy solution to utilise, change and administer for us - with the added benefit of SourceCode providing on-going support.

We had an assigned project manager who was our main point of contact, with further engagement with the development and UX teams where required. Emily (MD) also checked in on the project and offered to discuss anything should we feel the need to.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
After we launched the solution internally, we have received considerable positive feedback and further suggestions for enhancements coming from our teams - further evidence that this is being used widely within our organisation. The ease of access and simple format has been particularly praised.

Communication was open and honest, whereby our own targets were not achievable, SourceCode were honest with us about dates for delivery and setting clear expectations. Scheduled project meetings were used to ensure that everyone had a time whereby updates could be openly discussed.

The overall solution that the team delivered was simple, effective, well designed and working with the team was a pleasure.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The main improvements mainly lay around minor formatting changes that came out once we pushed the tool to a wider audience.

We had problems with our current build - namely reliability and scalability. We needed a reliable system which could grow with us as a company.

We reached out to a number of developers, both off shore and local. Some of the projects that this company had been involved with were very similar to ours. They are local to us.

They developed a kiosk app in Xamarin to run on iOS devices outside our parcel rooms, and a web app written in .NET core to administrate them. Web app provides ability to manage parcel rooms, their residents, the couriers and deliveries - and provide settings for the kiosk app.

We were able to release a more reliable version of our solution within 10 months or so. I am able to actually relax!

Compared to previous experience they seem quite traditional and no nonsense. We are "techier" than some customers, and they had no problem sharing their knowledge with us. there was no "gatekeeping" that we had experiences with other companies. They were extremely attentive and during the build any issues were quickly resolved. Deadlines were met.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
All the developers we worked with "just got it" there was no need to go over the intricacies of our project again and again. They are local to us and did a better job than the larger London-based developers who we worked with previously.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
the initial kick-off to a project seemed to lag slightly but this was not really a problem as the end result was good. At the time we needed instant progress so this probably coloured my view. Really we could not have asked for more. Ongoing, it would be nice if they supported Amazon Web Services (where our project resides) but we can work around this.
