We are a lifestyle brand that operates within the cannabis space. We create cannabis accessories, and our intention was to create a design-forward brand that meshes better with the modern culture of the space in Canada.

We worked with them from the start, and we hired them to help with brand design and other needs.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did everything from the website to packaging. They provided our whole brand aesthetic, and we worked with us on all our product and logo design. They helped us create imagery that worked well with the brand, and the style makes sense with the size of each product we offer. We come to them with ideas, and they help bring those ideas to life. They designed and developed our site in Shopify, then they helped create thematics that resonate with our brand.

We have recurring business with them, and we go back to them whenever we need help with any particular product. Sometimes we use them to build new packaging from scratch, and sometimes we make changes to existing products.

What is the team composition?

I'm not sure how big the team is, but I'd assume we work with most of their staff. We have one main point of contact, and we occasionally reach out to a second individual as needed.

How did you come to work with Sonder Creative?

They were referred to us, and we worked with them on some other projects previously.

How much have you invested with them?

I'd estimate the cost falls somewhere between $10,000-$25,000 USD.

What is the status of this engagement?

For this collaboration, we started working together in June or July 2018. We still use them for all our design needs.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We get a lot of feedback on the general aesthetic of the brand and the products. We hoped to convey something more modern, and we've definitely done that. All the products, the website, and the marketing materials they created were accurate to everything we wanted. They were a key part in developing the whole brand.

So much of our ability to sell products comes down to the aesthetics that Sonder Creative established. The brand is well received, and our products are sold in 90 stores across Canada within our first year of sales. The site is reliable and functional, and they got us quickly up to speed on how it operates. It's easy for us to make changes, but we couldn't have done it without the foundation they built for us.

How did Sonder Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

They deliver everything on time and within our budget, even when surprises arise on our side. They respond promptly, and they always communicate the bigger picture to explain why certain things should go in a different direction. Their communication in general is very good, and they share their ideas and recommendations to get the best results.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They create the best products we could possibly have. If we did this on our own, those deliverables might have ended up completely different. They walk us through their entire process, and they excel in new or challenging projects.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think there's anything they should change or do differently. We're very happy with the work they do for us, and we keep going back to them.

As with any designer, have a good idea of what you want. Convey those ideas as best you can.

I’m a brand ambassador for Gem Cabinets, a company that specializes in designing and installing custom and semi-custom cabinetry. We offer a wide range of styles and finishes to suit various tastes and budgets. We work with homeowners, home builders, renovators, interior designers and contractors.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sonder Creative?

We needed help with a branding and logo assessment for our company. We also wanted to build new brand guidelines for our marketing and a new website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Sonder Creative created positioning statements and a new visual identity for our company. They assessed our current logo and gave us options for updates. They designed and built a website that represented our company and our brand, ensuring that it was a high-performance site with the goal of generating sales. The website included a new consistent brand identity throughout the design, contact forms that integrated into our ERP for better lead tracking and sales processes, and an interactive careers page where applicants could apply on the site.

We worked with five members of their team.

How did you come to work with Sonder Creative?

We found them through an online search. Once we met with them, we found that they had worked with other businesses in our industry that we knew very well, so we reached out to them. Our industry peers had nothing but great things to say about the process of working with Sonder Creative. We liked the portfolio of websites they had built, and our initial discovery call with Jeff was the best out of anyone we met with. He was very personal, made us feel comfortable and was very thorough. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in March 2025, and we launched our website on July 1, 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We plan to track website traffic and leads to measure the success of the website in the future. The Sonder Creative team made the whole process so enjoyable. They met with us and learned about our company by talking with us and asking us questions. Throughout the process, we worked as a team, and communication was always open. We felt like we could ask as many questions as we wanted to and reach out with ideas anytime. Whenever we reached out, we got a response back right away. They met our ideas with positivity and gave us valuable feedback and direction while still leaving the final say up to us.

How did Sonder Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Sonder Creative stayed on track through the entire process. The only reason we fell behind was due to delays on our side. When we had to delay, they were flexible and accommodating. We primarily communicated via email and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think it’s a challenge to have a few conversations with someone, try to completely grasp who they are as a company and what they do, and turn around and deliver branding and a visual identity that wows them with very minimal direction. That’s exactly what the team at Sonder Creative did. We felt seen by them, and they truly cared about the project.
