Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the director of the company. We at Q8Votes are working closely with Kuwaiti politicians to help them with their campaigns during the general election in Kuwait. Most important role we play is with providing the data of the voters of different districts in Kuwait.

For what projects/services did your company hire SONAMAK, and what were your goals?

We needed to have an easy to use webApp/website. SONAMAK was the best option after reviewing tens of other companies. They helped in building the web application from A to Z.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found them at one of the freelancing services. They gave us a great proposal including technical support after delivering the project.

We have had multiple meetings to discuss the details of our project. We mostly use WhatsApp and emails to communicate. Our team had a limited technological experience. SONAMAK team was easy to work with and they understood all our needs very fast.

We mainly communicate with 1 of their team. From our understanding, he was the link to his team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Due to the pandemic, we can’t figure an accurate feedback now. We will be able to do so by next general election in Kuwait.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We communicate every other month now via WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We haven’t had any issue with delivering our ideas to them. They also use the term “there is nothing impossible in technology” and they meant it!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No.

Our website was created a long time ago by our own team via wix, we wanted to get a fresh and stunning design, We hired Sonamak to provide us with a design via WP, hoping to get a better look and increase the traffic which will lead to more sales.

We looked for website designers in our area and on the freelancer’s platforms, we reviewed different proposals, We found Sonamak is offering us the affordable price and the good customer care.

Sonamak team offered us more than 4 templates to choose from. And reviewed for us what changes we can make and listened carefully to our inquiries and needs, we had many zoom meetings to review what they achieved and how satisfied we are. SONAMAK team were very patient and got us all the plugins and features we needed

Sonamak Team always surprise us with their knowledge and how patient they were during the work, how rapid their team to respond to any inquiry we ask for.

We ended up with a very beautiful and stunning website

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I own a company in the UK called Lie Detectors UK and three people work with me. I’m one of 25 qualified polygraph examiners in this region but my background's in IT. I’m the secretary of the UK Polygraph Association as well.

What challenge were you trying to address with SONAMAK?

I needed someone to create websites for me.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

SONAMAK built one website initially, which was really good. Since then, their team has created four other websites for us. They used WordPress but also implemented a significant number of customizations based on how I wanted the platform to look and work.

Their team just created a website for us to support our expansion into Spain. I gave them a brief and pictures that I wanted on the site. Ten days later, their team came back with drafts of the site and asked which one I liked. I picked one and then gave them the text I wanted on the site, which their team implemented. They then uploaded the platform onto one of my hosts and the website be live in three days. Normally, I would provide feedback and customizations in a bulleted list via Freelancer but I haven’t had a lot of time. 

SONAMAK also helped us with a couple of problems that needed to be solved quickly. One of our sites was hacked, and their team fixed the issue in minutes basically.

Also, their team includes a graphic designer who created logos for me. It’s hard to find someone who can build a good site and has a graphic eye to lay it out well.

What is the team composition?

I’ve only worked with Ahmed (Founder and CEO, SONAMAK) from SONAMAK. I’ve worked with him through Freelancer.com, so there’s a moderated platform.

How did you come to work with SONAMAK?

I posted the job on Freelancer.com and hire people to do specific tasks. I post a job, people bid for it, and I accept them based on their feedback. On the platform, sometimes you get someone who’s okay or someone who's good.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent probably a couple of thousand dollars working with SONAMAK. Ahmed's done quite a lot of work for us without asking for money and his services aren't expensive, which is important. I pay him through Freelancer where I set up jobs. I’ll ask them how much it’ll cost to complete a project and if I think the price’s fair, which it always is, I load the money onto the platform.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the collaboration around December 2018 and our partnership's ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

SONAMAK delivers good work and listens to what I have to say. Ahmed builds what I've asked for. The sites he’s delivered convert customers and rank well organically, which I’m happy about. He creates good themes that work well with our business and the sites are fast.  

How did SONAMAK perform from a project management standpoint?

Ahmed delivers on time and feedback’s always good. If I send him a message, he’ll respond pretty quickly. With past service providers, I had to be really specific about what I wanted but nothing gets lost in translation with SONAMAK

What did you find most impressive about them?

SONAMAK over-delivers, which is quite impressive these days. As a small business owner, I want both quality and price. I don’t want to go to an agency and pay $3,000 for a website. I want to go to someone who can deliver that at a fraction of the price. In the last seven years of running this business I’ve worked with quite a few different contractors, so I know I’ve got a good one with SONAMAK.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, my only concern is that Ahmed will get too busy. Sometimes he can be a little slow in getting back to me, but I appreciate that I’m not his only customer and I’m not paying top dollar.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Detail everything you want to be done. List what and how you want tasks complete. Give realistic timeframes so spend time writing down what you want. Spend time writing what you want. To go to someone and say I want a website doesn’t mean anything. Be specific about what you want and write it down.
