Expectations and deadlines for the projects were all met and our client was satisfied with the output as well. Unfortunately, no other metrics can be shared at this time.

Our communication with their team was typically done via Slack or simple phone calls which were are very pleasant interactions. Overall they were always accommodating to our needs for staffing changes.

Overall Somnio developers are hungry for work and enjoy learning and implementing new things throughout the course of a project. They never ran away from a hard problem and continued to push through to find the correct solution every time.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

At the moment, no. It's really hard to find Flutter developers with this expertise and that aspire to the same high-quality standards as we do.

We wanted to create a platform for restaurants in the F&B industry. We needed two apps, one for the experience of the customers in the restaurant in Flutter and one PWA for the organization and management of its staff members. The guest app was created in React as Flutter Web was not in production yet and the app for the staff in Flutter. The Back-End was built with Node.js, DevOps, and other technologies.

We needed a software agency for the Full Product Development of the Jaac application. Somnio Software quickly became our technological partners and helped in the complete cycle from strategy, design, development to delivery and maintenance. They immensely helped in the development of the product as a whole.

What were your goals for this project?

Our objective was to create a solid platform, by using new technologies like Flutter. This allowed our app to perform all the functionalities we needed. It was essential to select the best software architecture design and decide the best approach within the time we had. We wanted to choose a flexible path to all the functionalities that were emerging.

In that sense, we needed to create a platform with several microservices and components interacting with each other that allowed us to carry out extended functionalities involving the interaction between the applications. This was the biggest challenge for the team since the project required many technologies and several applications interacting with each other. Therefore, in order to make it scalable, maintainable, and performant, Somnio had to create an outstanding software architecture that sustained it.

The team was able to carry out these requirements efficiently and was able to achieve and fulfill all the objectives that were set. Jaac is a platform that changed a lot as users requested different functionalities so the team had to adapt and keep it agile. The Somnio Team did an excellent job achieving this.

I selected Somnio Software from their portfolio and success cases. They showed their technical expertise and were very supportive with ideas and fluent communication. They proved they could solve problems that may arise while continuing to get things done in the time we had stipulated.

These were the things that attracted me the most to select them and then continue working with them. At the same time, they recommend us to work with Flutter, which was a success for speeding mobile development.

The project consisted of the Development of two applications, one of them was a PWA and the other a Flutter App, next to a solid backend. They created from scratch through the Full Product Development process. It began in a technical consultancy that led to the complete creation of the product.

The team took the time to deeply understand the project’s needs and the best road to follow. They continued to carefully inform us and guide us in the tech and strategy needs of our project to achieve our desired results. In that sense, they started by analyzing which architecture design would be most suitable for our project, evaluated what was the best technology for our case, and helped us decide the appropriate workflow to follow.

One of the app's challenges is the integration of many functionalities and the effective performance of both apps working together. Plus, each restaurant needed to be able to add or remove some functionalities to customize Jaac and adapt it to their business. Therefore, Somnio built a quick and performant app with an easily modifiable system that allowed quick changes in functionalities depending on the needs and preferences of each restaurant.

The team included several people, some were fixed and some joined through the process. Throughout the process, Somnio provided an Internal Project Manager, a Back-End Developer, 2 Front-End web developers and 2 Mobile Developers. The team was made up of professionals, experienced developers that were able to achieve our desired results and who communicated very well to keep us updated and informed of the progress.

They enabled us to offer the system that today continues operating in several cities around the world. They managed to create a high-level application with modern technology such as Flutter and create a quality architecture for the entire platform. The level of the product allowed Jaac to continue growing and reach more restaurants.

Somnio’s internal management was exemplary. They acted quickly when more professionals were needed by quickly incorporating them in the project and rapidly achieving productivity. Communication with them was always very fluent, sincere, clear, and transparent. Their experience working with software development was reflected in their great ability to manage the project. We worked together with the team of Somnio Software to ensure that things worked well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were amazed by the commitment they quickly adapted for the project. They weren't just developers, but our technological partners with strategists, architects, designers, and testers. They successfully modeled the databases and prepared scalable structures. They were able to efficiently solve and attend to all the needs we had. The use of Flutter technology was an important part in quickly and successfully solving the challenges that arose and implementing the requested solutions.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Working in different time zones had its complexities, but the team made its best effort and managed to adapt to the time difference and look for mechanisms to continue synchronizing. We know it isn’t easy, but they were constantly looking for ways to improve it and solve this difficulty. Thank you for all the hard and excellent work. For this, we needed Flutter experts who could create questions for these tests. It was important that these questions couldn’t be answered by searching on the internet so Somnio had to put a lot of thinking into their creation.

The project management was very well managed. The team consisted of technical people who were in charge of putting together and analyzing the questions as well as people who monitored that the work was being delivered on time. They focused on us being satisfied with the result. They also took great care of the relationship between the customer and supplier.

We needed an application to be able to manage all recipes and orders in one place. Somnio Software provided us with Consulting, Design, and Application Development services. Firstly, in the consulting stage, they helped us to identify the problems of our business, understand how it worked and what its needs were. On the one hand, it was important to be able to manage all the inventory effectively and on the other hand to be able to manage all the orders in one place. In this way, everyone in the company could have easy access and use of these functionalities.

For this, we needed the application to be accessible in both stores and also on the web. They used Flutter to create an app that could be on both operating systems, could be viewed on any device, and had its web version. The main objective of the project was to create an app that could solve the main problems of the company, especially in relation to inventory management. They created a solid structure so that it was easy to update recipes, new prices, among other things. Somnio focused on creating a scalable structure for the future which, for example, could become a platform to share recipes as well.

The project consists of an application that unifies many processes of the store, from recipes, ingredients, and orders. It’s of great use to both clients and people who work at In Her Oven. On the one hand, each user can have their profile in the app and add recipes to the shopping cart to place their order. On the other hand, the company can customize each recipe, update them, and manage inventory and incoming orders. Somnio Software used Flutter Framework to build the app both on mobile and web simultaneously. In addition, it allowed us to build the mobile app on both operation systems, iOS and Android, at the same time.

The team consisted of a Project Manager, a designer, a developer, and a QA Tester.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The application helped us to considerably increase productivity. Having the organization of the company and the orders in one place has been a solution to improve the internal operative. Also, being able to change recipes, ingredients, and prices in the same place and having it updated throughout the application is extremely useful.

The Project Management was handled in a very good and productive manner. They carried out a series of iterations in order to identify the problem and consistently asked for feedback to find the best result for our business. They were very focused on deeply understanding our business and what it needed to deliver a product of value.

We hired Somnio Software for the development of a Flutter App that registers criminal cases. We wanted to create the go-to place for anything related to criminal cases. We started with Consulting, they helped with the Management in general as well, and we also required Development and Quality Assurance services.

They initially helped us break down the requirements for the project to start the whole software development process. They created the Front-End with Flutter and used Backend as a Service and Serverless architecture We needed to create the app we had in mind, but we knew it was complex both in the technical part as in the short times we were counting on.

Somnio Software helped us build the app we needed with the quality we expected, the technical level it required, and in the time we needed. We needed to create the app from scratch and make it powerful to reach many users. We wanted an MVP to begin with and then make it scalable.

Their service included the whole process of creating the app, from the consultancy, the breakdown of requirements in a first phase, the management of the product development, the development of the app and the QA to ensure its quality.

We achieved a very successful app with a large number of users and downloads. The app reached #4 position in News in App Store and continues to rock the stores. The product was a huge help and made a big difference in validating the platform to continue growing the product.

CrimeDoor has proved that there was a big interest in the subject and that we can make a difference to help solve these cases. Furthermore, the media has shown a lot of interest in promoting the app, as well as influencers and users all over social media.

They successfully prioritized tasks and functionalities that would add more value to the product with the reduced time we were managing in mind. In that sense, the management of the project was very efficient regarding the time limit we had.

We are providing speed dating events at local bars in your local area at any time and anywhere. Our app provides a comprehensive experience for our users.

Meet Texas is the world's first in-person speed dating app that is hosted at local bars. We guide our users through an immersive speed dating experience: which table to sit at, who to talk to, and every detail in between. Our app incorporates a global timer that dictates the flow of a speed dating event. QR scanners, matchmaking algorithms, and users' social media are used to host an immersive event.

It’s a simple, honest, and direct process where 15 men speed date 15 women, in one hour. But we don’t stop there, our app will then pair users up with their top 3 speed dates based on mutual attraction. We call this Round 2 dates; we convert speed dating into a matchmaking experience.

With the help of Somio, we were able to complete a fully functioning beta app. This beta app helped us garner local attention and potential investors. We are currently securing a new agreement (with investor funds) to further develop our app with brand new features.

Our project manager was amazing. He was a great coordinator and facilitator between our company and the project team. He was also a great collaborator, advisor, and friend. We would meet once a week for 6 months. During these meetings my company would get briefed on the team’s progress and the future plans/tasks for the upcoming week.

These Sprint reviews helped me better understand the software development process and gave me a better outlook on the project, turning something that I thought would be too complicated to understand into an engaging, learning experience.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The open level of communication between my company and the whole team. It made the process inclusive, transparent, and collaborative. There was never room for lack of communication. From being able to message the UX/UI designer to the CEO and anyone in between, it made the whole experience smooth and comfortable. I especially enjoyed getting notifications from Jira regarding the tasks being worked on by the team. Every aspect of the partnership was clear and transparent.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not one thing comes to mind. Given the task at hand, Somnio came through for us in every aspect.

I was the co-founder of Stock Out, a platform that worked as a storage of packaged foods that were near to expire. We offered a service to promote food and beverage with a 50% discount. It operated with both importers and suppliers, as well as with buyers from companies from different sectors. Our main distribution channel was a web platform that helped us present what Stock Out was about and reach customers. Stock out was an opportunity to reduce waste, reduce destruction costs by importing companies and manufacturers, and offer generalized access to discounted products.

We chose them because I already knew how Mauricio worked. We had worked together on a complex project for the Montevideo City Hall which was a success and I got to see how well he worked. Then as soon as I called them, they were able to act quickly, give us immediate feedback with a budget and the next steps to follow. The enthusiasm and commitment they transmitted made us even more convinced that it was exactly what we needed.

We needed someone to help us understand what the process was like and to be able to execute it in the best way. Somnio fulfilled all these points in an excellent way, they fulfilled the deadlines and even provided more than what we expected. I can't think of how the management could have turned out better, I was honestly impressed by how easy it was to work with them. Communication and empathy were key to achieve the result we needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What surprised me the most about the company was the ease with which they presented things and how organized the communication and process with them was. I never felt lost or doubtful of how the project was going to turn out. We felt accompanied and supported in the technological part and in making our business a reality. All stages flowed excellently and I felt completely comfortable at all times.

The goal for this project was to successfully define, design and develop a mobile app that improves the payment process for construction industry. First, they helped us by understanding and defining the different requirements that the platform is needing, prioritizing them and separating them by version to have a clear roadmap and know where to focus our efforts. They communicated very clearly when discussing the requirements, were very attentive to detail and helped understand the behavior with diagrams for some complex features. The designs of the application were user-friendly and they put special focus in the user experience, which we really care about. We were frequently communicating and having meetings where we validated the progress. They built prototypes that were great for validation before moving forward to the final designs. The development and management was very organized, they made great technological suggestions and were very careful with the process which led to a successful and high-quality application.

What was the team composition?

There were 7 people that covered different roles in the project, including project managers, developers, designers, QA and the CEO. The team who worked diligently to meet our specific needs and we were very glad with their work. They really know how to work in a team and complement their skills with others for better results.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Somnio is our technical team that guides us in all the steps of the process to build a mobile application, giving us a better understanding of what is the current state, helping us define what we need and suggesting next steps. They helped us to get to a high-quality app which allowed us to scale our idea and the service we intend to provide.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We were really happy with the project management. Their communication was constant and clear, and the tracking and status of the project was easy to follow. The work was efficient, they had great systems and processes in place. We took the necessary time to define what was needed, our priorities and always taking into account the tradeoffs based on what we focus on. This was helpful and let us focus on the most urgent and important things that the project was needing.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their expertise and technical knowledge, it was clear they knew what they were doing both from a technical and process stand. They were putting the project first in their priority and thinking what was best for it, always thinking of the quality and how to make a successful project.

They were constantly offering solutions to different problems that arise and suggesting improvements to the project. They communicated very clearly, were very attentive, and helped us understand the status of the project and what were the next steps.

Our System allows our clients to simplify the management of their processes, tasks, and work management, offering specific modules that meet the needs of each key collaborator of the company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Somnio Software, and what were your goals?

We chose them because we know them from their offices in Ingenio, Latu. We have a good relationship with them and knew that we were going to achieve excellent results.

How did you select Somnio Software and what were the deciding factors?

We work in the same building and have seen them work with dedication and enthusiasm and also witnessed their growth every day.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We hired Somnio for a consultancy on the development of an application for ARK. We began identifying technical problems the app presented and other regarding the software processes in order to improve them.  

In the beginning, we carried out a consultancy in order to document the current system, survey new requirements, define an architecture, and improve the software processes.

Afterward, we entered a stage of improving all the processes, tools, and technological stack that was used. In this phase, we correctly implemented the development environments and the technological stack tools.

Ultimately, the next steps to follow were proposed in order to continue growing and scaling the product correctly.

They provided many solutions on how to continue building the system and what was the best way.

The last stage consisted of a web and back-end development sprint. We also put a special focus on correctly integrating with amazon web services.

The team consisted of a Business analyst and a Software Architect.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After launching our site, we saw a 70% increase in traffic, and our incoming leads doubled month over month thanks to the landing page.

Clients completely loved the updated design, and they now have a better understanding of our services.

It allowed us to set the correct path in order to be able to deploy the application correctly. This helped put the application in production on time and allowed us to show customers and provide them with a system.

We set everything ready for them to shorten development times with an efficient process.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

The management of the project had no major difficulty. The timelines were well defined and the tools used were very useful to manage and implement changes quickly.

The objectives were clear from the beginning and were divided into two phases: firstly,  a consultancy to analyze current problems and secondly, fixing the most important problems and leaving everything ready for future improvements if necessary.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What we appreciated the most was the clear and quick communication that was maintained throughout the whole process. We really valued that they completely understood our needs and the deadlines that we handled.

It was important for us that they could offer many solutions and explain the advantages and disadvantages of each one.

As soon as we decided upon their advice they quickly implemented the solution and we could see changes in the system really fast.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I don't think so. Honestly, the process was excellent both at the consulting and implementation level. They took the time to deeply understand the problem and did not rush to make a wrong decision.

It's also important to mention that the implementation and production phase was carried out very smoothly.  We highly recommend them and hope to continue working together!
