I am a Product Information Management (PIM) Product Owner at Nilfisk, a global manufacturer of professional cleaning equipment and services. Nilfisk serves customers in more than 100 countries with a broad portfolio that includes floor care machines, vacuum cleaners, and pressure washers.

What challenge were you trying to address with SOLUTIONLAB PRODUCTION, UAB?

Nilfisk needed a scalable and automated solution to generate country‑specific brochures/factsheets for individual products or product groups. This required delivering structured and reusable product data from our new Struct PIM system, not only for document generation but also as a foundation for other downstream tools and digital channels.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SOLUTIONLAB designed and implemented an API‑based data layer connected to Struct PIM and developed the brochure/factsheet generator tool. Nilfisk provided branding and layout requirements, while SOLUTIONLAB focused on the technical architecture, implementation, and integration. They also proactively proposed alternative technical approaches when constraints arose.

What is the team composition?

We collaborated with a team of 5 specialists from SOLUTIONLAB, covering project management, technical development, testing and solution design.

How did you come to work with SOLUTIONLAB PRODUCTION, UAB?

Nilfisk already had an established relationship with SOLUTIONLAB. We selected them based on their strong understanding of our landscape, good value for cost, and their track record as a reliable standard supplier with high customer satisfaction.

The project ran from July 2025 to February 2026. Since March 2026, our collaboration has continued under an ongoing service and support agreement.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project introduced a new factsheet generation solution based on our Struct PIM, replacing a legacy tool that relied on data from an old PIM system. This required adapting to a more structured and flexible data model, which added technical complexity. Through close collaboration, agile ceremonies, and iterative testing, the solution met business expectations. The outcome received very positive feedback and is now considered a solid basis for future extensions such as catalogue generation, reporting, and data feeds for additional digital channels.

SOLUTIONLAB demonstrated a high level of professionalism in project management. Communication was clear and structured, primarily through regular virtual meetings, and progress, risks, and dependencies were handled transparently throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team worked as true colleagues rather than a traditional vendor, taking ownership and responsibility for the solution. They were transparent, proactive, and creative in problem‑solving, while maintaining excellent communication. Importantly, they balanced customer focus with a disciplined approach to scope management.

Our website was created over 5 years ago and had become outdated. Since we didn’t have in-house developers to invest in a new website, we hired this team to develop an Umbraco site for us. By doing this, we were hoping to increase our traffic and improve site’ speed.

The Solutionlab consultants acted basically as team members, they were fully integrated in our Scrum teams, showed high degree of proactivity and responsibility for making sure we design and develop a maintainable and scalable platform. Overall it was and is a very fruitful collaboration

I'm impressed with their attention to detail. They always have our needs in mind and even challenge us on decisions made on our side that were maybe not optimal for our environment.
