We started with an in-person intake call at SOLTECH’s office. We went through what we had already built, which was the first version of our AI tool. We walked them through what we had and answered their questions about our vision. We also learned about the technical challenges we would face to get to the vision we wanted.

After that, we developed a high-level plan to achieve our goals. We had to come back internally and get the financial support to engage in the project. It took about 3–6 months before we could engage with them more comprehensively because we had constraints on the global and access sides. We had to work through those constraints.

Since then, we’ve been in the building phase. We have a specific contractor from SOLTECH who works with us. We’re using them more now than we did last year because we’ve lifted the constraints.

They were recommended to us by a common vendor. We didn’t do an RFP; we took it as a recommendation.

We started working with them in February 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have many metrics to share. One key aspect of our relationship with SOLTECH is their ability to pivot. We had a lot of the work we planned to do paused due to internal structural issues. SOLTECH has been patient and waited until we could engage, which has been really helpful. If they had stuck to a rigid timeline, we wouldn’t be working with them anymore. Overall, SOLTECH has met our expectations.

How did SOLTECH perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re flexible with the amount of time their contractor works on the project. One week, we might need the contractor for an hour; the next week, for 20 hours. SOLTECH has been amazing at helping us be flexible with our needs.

We use a project management tool. We communicate via email, phone calls, in-person meetings, and Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their technical capabilities are impressive. Moreover, they’ve made it easy to work with them based on our needs. Their responsiveness to our urgency has also been outstanding.

Are there any areas they could improve?

SOLTECH has been very good at telling us what they need to take the next steps and communicating with us internally. However, I’ve asked them to elevate those needs when they’re urgent, and they’re not getting a response. They work with multiple teammates within our organization, and we don’t want the project to slow down. However, not everyone is responsive, and some of their requests for access have gone unresponded to.

We’ve asked them to bubble that up to the project leaders as quickly as possible if there are delays or they’re not getting a response.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Put SOLTECH directly in touch with people within your organization, rather than having them go through a specific communication node.

I’m a growth consultant for a small, family-owned hardwood flooring company. We do installation, refinishing, and retail sales. I help the company grow by expanding into distribution and other areas.

What challenge were you trying to address with SOLTECH?

We were looking for a solution design for our company. We wanted to expand our business to include a B2B and B2C e-commerce solution. We wanted to sell to other contractors and directly to homeowners and DIY customers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started by presenting SOLTECH with our ideas. We gave them very little information, but we had many ideas about what we wanted to do. We had to investigate and work on some of those ideas. We also threw them a curveball on how we wanted to manage inventory between our two different customers. We were multi-branded and had multiple companies, so we had a lot of requirements.

We also wanted to put some of the features in an app for our salespeople. Customers could log in and see where their order was in transit. Customers would get a confirmation email with shipping information when they placed an order. We also wanted a solution that would talk to the company we were buying the product from if the product was not in stock. The solution would then present that information back to the customer.

We focused on the B2B part of the solution first. We had an implementation plan and a launch strategy. We would start the B2B part first, and then we would work on the B2C part. The B2C part was the storefront e-commerce for the homeowners and DIY customers; that was the second phase of the project.

We worked with Ann, Renso, and the CTO. We also worked with the CEO.

How did you come to work with SOLTECH?

We found SOLTECH through a Google search. We looked at a few of their Clutch reviews and appreciated them. We also had a few initial meetings with SOLTECH as we were designing our plan. We were impressed with Ann. She was not just a salesperson; she was one of their directors. We also spoke with their CTO. We were amazed that we were talking to high-up people. We chose SOLTECH because they put a lot of effort into our project and took it very seriously.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent a multi-six-figure amount.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with SOLTECH in June 2025, and the project was completed in September 2025. If we need them, we can reach out to them again.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our growth was well over 400%. SOLTECH met our expectations and exceeded them. They did an amazing job of bringing to fruition our complex requirements. As we developed the solution with them, we learned things and got exposure to their expertise. We rethought some of the things we were doing. We moved the goal line, and SOLTECH moved with us. They provided an amazing technological solution beyond our expectations.

How did SOLTECH perform from a project management standpoint?

SOLTECH met deadlines. We were responsible for budget restraints. They did everything they could to operate within our budget. We spoke on the phone a lot. They honored appointments, and we also communicated via email, text messages, and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We had direct access to the CEO, which was awesome. She provided direction and was amazing. We had access to their CTO the entire time, which was also awesome. The communication was great. We developed a relationship with SOLTECH. They were not typical salespeople. They genuinely cared about the success of our company.

When I got a response from one of the key associates working on our project over Christmas, it wasn't the canned Merry Christmas stuff that any company sends out to everybody. This is a genuine one-on-one response from someone who cares about the success of your company. That's how well we developed this relationship.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we drove the budget. If we asked them to do something, things just cost more. I don’t have any complaints.

Make sure you have their cell phone numbers. They’re very accessible.

I'm the CEO of an outsourced CFO company providing consulting and financial reporting services. I'm also one of the founders and oversee our operations and client engagements.

We needed to replace a previous financial budgeting application that was no longer sustainable to support.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

SOLTECH is responsible for designing and developing a new web application built from scratch. We had initially brought the team to continue supporting our existing app. Still, after they assessed our solution, it was clear that maintaining it would result in significant additional fees, so we decided to have SOLTECH build a simpler app.

We've discussed with SOLTECH creating a more modern web app that would allow us to manage client data, facilitate budgeting, and provide clients with an accessible platform for their financial information.

The team has taken our requirements, including an Excel mock-up, and delivered a solution that allows users to enter and view financial and budget data, with a dashboard for graphical representation that enables nonfinancial users to have visibility with a bar chart and trends.

The team has leveraged Supabase and GRID to create our solution. SOLTECH has also provided an as-needed support agreement for ongoing maintenance.

The team includes senior-level contacts Thayer and Tom, a project manager named Scott, two developers named Raymond and Renso, and Ann, who acts as a customer representative.

How did you come to work with SOLTECH?

We initially found SOLTECH through a web search in 2017 when we sought a new developer for our application. When it became necessary to switch developers, we contacted them again based on our previous interactions.

We've invested approximately $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2024, and engagement is ongoing, with SOLTECH providing support as needed for the web application.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The application is live and serves as an external platform for our clients to interact with their financial data. While we haven't fully rolled it out to all clients yet, initial feedback from our team has been positive. We especially like the modern and fresh UI.

How did SOLTECH perform from a project management standpoint?

SOLTECH has built beyond what our understanding of the agreement, and has gone over the budget. There have been some issues with billing beyond the agreed fixed fee, which resulted in additional charges. Overall, the project could have been managed more efficiently, as they've made progress rapidly and there haven't been out-of-scope requests from our side.

We've communicated via email and Zoom and don't use any project management tools. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like SOLTECH's design and web app UI. The platform looks modern, and the calculations update quickly, which enhances the UX.

Are there any areas they could improve?

A couple of features have been missed or not fully implemented as initially agreed, such as providing initial terms and conditions on login and the ability to pull in multiple accounts at once. Additionally, some features in scope have been later discussed as out of scope, and we've felt discouraged from pushing for them due to concerns about additional charges, because our budget is fixed.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It's essential to monitor the budget and billing closely and to ensure that the SOW is detailed and precise. Overall, we enjoy working with SOLTECH and recommend them because they've delivered good service and are an improvement over our previous developer.

I'm the CTO of SnapCare, a healthcare staffing agency. We also have a workforce platform. We provide a fast workforce marketplace to our clients. Using a consultative and technology-based methodology, our business helps our client facilities with clinician staffing. We optimize their core staff and bring on contingent staff as needed to fill in for their changes in labor demand.

We needed a couple of consultants to help us design and build out some generative AI capabilities.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We sat down with SOLTECH and gave them a vision of what we were trying to achieve. We also provided them with high-level documentation on our core business, functional, and technical requirements. We used that to help us identify consulting and staff augmentation that could immediately help us.

In the past, we had worked with SOLTECH to do recruiting for us so we could hire full-time staff for certain positions. We also worked with them when we wanted to bring in consulting capacity on any of our short- or mid-term projects. The team assisted us with talent with specific generative AI skills and experience.

SOLTECH provided us with two resources early on. However, I only worked with one person from SOLTECH during my time.

We had already been working with SOLTECH before I joined.

We started working with them in June 2024. We completed the project in October 2025. We're looking forward to engaging on another project with SOLTECH next year.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We implemented an AI-based document processing service that auto-verifies some aspects in different document types. We achieved about a 70% auto-verification level and reduced manual time by about 65% for those document types.

How did SOLTECH perform from a project management standpoint?

SOLTECH delivered on time and within budget. We used Jira and Confluence as our primary tools. We also used Slack for communication. SOLTECH's resources integrated smoothly into our operations and were adept and quick to learn. They became part of the team very quickly.

SOLTECH's team understood what we were trying to achieve early on, using small iterations or proof of concepts and providing thorough documentation. SOLTECH delivered high-quality work and had excellent consulting staff.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were very impressed with the high quality of candidates. They were technically able and great communicators. They were also great to work with regarding being team members. Overall, they had a very high caliber of professionals.

Our experience working with SOLTECH was highly positive overall. Their talent, skills, and the sophisticated experience levels that we worked with in our teams stood out.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there weren't any. Maybe lower rates, but we got excellent work.

Be clear on the business problem and the results you want. For new and unproven technology, ask SOLTECH for an early prototype demonstrating the solution and getting an early line of sight to results.

SOLTECH's solution has replaced a licensed platform that we were using. We determined that we needed better service, and SOLTECH has provided us with better customer service software. We can also own our software instead of licensing it. The product is working very well, and the team's work has met our expectations.

How did SOLTECH perform from a project management standpoint?

We've been slightly over budget and schedule, but we've factored that into our expectations. Having a tech background, we anticipated that. We communicate via email and Zoom. SOLTECH uses Jira, but that's internal to them.

SOLTECH's responsiveness and technical knowledge are impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Improving the requirements for the architectural portion of the project, and more granularity on invoicing and what they invoiced for would be helpful.

Ensure you have your requirements spelled out very well. If there's any data transfer, make sure you agree upon that with SOLTECH before getting the data converted.

I'm the VP of operations for Gill Reprographics. We have 10 locations across the country, and we print blueprints and construction signage for architects and general contractors in specific cities.

We needed a file transfer program for our customers to order plans or jobs and transmit large files to us. Our customers can't send files through email, so we needed a program that would send files directly to our stores.

We had a program website in hand that SOLTECH reviewed, and they built a new one from scratch. They've also offered maintenance and hosting.

We have six different contacts, most of them engineers, and Scott, their director of software development, is our main contact.

I found them online. I called and spoke with the engineers and explained that we were looking for a file transfer program.

They've been nothing but professional. The team is very communicative and on top of everything. Even before we ask questions, they're already seeing what they need to change. So, it's been a great partnership so far. We communicate via email and Zoom calls.

Our company runs on a database system that was 20 years old. It was time for us to get a new one put into place. We hired SOLTECH specifically because we wanted a customized version, not an out-of-the-can version.

After our initial meeting, we delivered SOLTECH a copy of our current database system. Then, we held several meetings where we discussed our goal and how we were going to proceed. SOLTECH gave us a mock-up of a brief working system so we could review it and see the direction they wanted to head in. Once we approved that, we signed the contract and started moving forward.

The new database platform was built from scratch. SOLTECH designed it on Salesforce with an SOX printout provider. The system allowed us to create quotes, order paint, track inventory, and create packing lists.

What challenge were you trying to address with SOLTECH?

We hired SOLTECH to build a specialized internal business application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

SOLTECH built a specialized internal business application for Google's internal use. It contained information about Google's data centers, which was helpful in multiple other applications in the business because maintaining that information in sync was challenging due to data conflicts. The goal was to provide a centralized metadata source that all applications needed. 

SOLTECH was responsible for the app's design and development. We sat down and went through an extensive series of discussions where we talked about the problem we were trying to solve. SOLTECH came back with some high-level design ideas and UI mock-ups.

We went into development once we agreed on those and finalized the requirements. Simultaneously, we worked on getting SOLTECH's team onboarded and authorized to use all the systems they would need to develop the app.

What is the team composition?

We worked with one architect early on in the process. Later on, during development, we never had more than two teammates from SOLTECH working on the project.

How did you come to work with SOLTECH?

We were aware of SOLTECH as a long-time Atlanta software development company. I had interviewed with them early in my career and found them via a Google search.

We looked at the portfolio of other companies that had worked with SOLTECH and noticed they were doing quite a bit of software work for Delta Airlines, and we were familiar with those applications. We thought that if SOLTECH could do those things, they could probably meet our needs.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from July 2020 to November 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The primary measure of success was whether the other products we launched would adopt the platform SOLTECH had developed. By that measure, the engagement was a great success. Over the last several years, at least 50% of the internal applications that had previously maintained their versions of this data migrated to using the system, and the number has continued to grow.

Additionally, the project was submitted for a tech impact award, one of the highest awards a technical implementation project can win. It was chosen as one of the technical impact awards in 2023.

How did SOLTECH perform from a project management standpoint?

SOLTECH delivered the work on time and budget. The team kept us informed of what was going on at all times. We always knew where things stood with the project, and I can't say enough about that; it was fantastic.

We used a combination of Google Meet meetings, emails, Google Docs, and our internal ticketing system, Buganizer, to keep up with our backlog of work. We also used spreadsheets for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of the application that SOLTECH developed for us was impressive. We liked the quality of the code and the UX design their team devised. They were very knowledgeable in the application development space.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were some minor stumbles very early on during the onboarding process. There were a couple of instances where there was an opportunity to escalate some things that weren't working well earlier than they were escalated. However, those were just project startup pains. Once we got everything onboard and running, we no longer had any problems.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

SOLTECH has a very technically talented team. One of the things that made us successful was the co-development model we chose, in which SOLTECH built the system for us and handed it over. Having an engineer on our side engaged with their team all along the way made it much easier to take the handoff from them at the end.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the director of IT at South Central Power, an electrical cooperative. We provide electric service to approximately 125,000 members in southern Iowa.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with SOLTECH?

Through our strategic planning process, we identified a need to develop a software integration and data exchange map. The solution would map all the software we use across the organization into different tiers, identify where those software systems were connected, and determine what data was being exchanged between them. This project was a precursor to a full-on data analytics project.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

One part of the RFP was developing the integration map with a visual design element. We left the door open to SOLTECH to see if there was a tool we needed to manage and maintain the integration map. The team had a couple of things on the table to see what would be the best fit. It was important to us to maintain the product ongoing, so we were open to reviewing different products they recommended.

In the end, we settled on Lucidchart, which is the product the map was developed in. We already owned the licensing for Lucid, so we didn't have to purchase any additional software or install any hardware to complete the project.

What is the team composition?

We had around 7–8 individuals on our side that were engaged in the project. Some were subject matter experts from various areas who spent much time in the software daily. They answered a lot of the questions during the discovery phase.

On SOLTECH's side, we initially engaged a team, with one person mainly running the project: Raymond, SOLTECH's solution architect. He handled everything from the discovery phase to on-site meetings and compiling the data for the map. He managed the entire project itself.

There was some backend project management that wasn't visible to us, but he did a nice job managing the entire process. Other than a couple of touchpoints with a few others within the SOLTECH organization, we dealt almost exclusively with him.

How did you come to work with SOLTECH?

We did a technology strategic plan last year and identified this project as one of the items. Our business analyst searched for companies that did work relevant to the project, primarily through Google searches and checking in with other sister cooperatives to see who they had used. We went through the process of prioritizing projects, and this project ranked higher to get done in the 2024–2025 calendar.

We went through an RFP process and sent it out to 6–7 respondents. We narrowed it down to three and interviewed the final three, one of which was SOLTECH. We gave each of them 30 minutes to provide a brief presentation, answer questions, address any specifics about the RFP, and have a Q&A with our strategic steering committee. We decided based on that, and SOLTECH was the one we chose.

How much have you invested with them?

We were under a $70,000 budget. We completed the project 10–15% under budget.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in October 2024 and wrapped it up in March 2025. We were a couple of months ahead of schedule.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Raymond was very knowledgeable and worked well with our team. He adapted to the direction we wanted to go and was very flexible. When we started this process, we knew the product we wanted but didn't know what it would look like. It was difficult for us to visualize it.

He and SOLTECH did a nice job guiding the process, explaining what was happening, and asking thoughtful questions. He planned his visits well and used the time efficiently. SOLTECH's knowledge, overall thoroughness, and completeness of the work were excellent.

In many ways, they met our expectations. Raymond did a lot of things that went above and beyond. He took our feedback constructively and stood out in that regard. He tried to facilitate and deliver a solid product.

How did SOLTECH perform from a project management standpoint?

SOLTECH managed the project well from a time and material standpoint. Raymond did a nice job. We didn't have a lot of engagement from a separate project manager, so he served all the roles and wore all the hats. We did a couple of Microsoft Teams meetings and phone calls with him just as updates.

We stayed pretty well on scope with what we planned in the RFP. SOLTECH did a nice job of going back and revisiting the RFP and ensuring that we met all of the deliverables we got out during the process. We didn't go beyond the defined scope.

We had touchpoints when he compiled information and had a first draft. We held a meeting with the team, and he walked through it and got some feedback. He sent the documents to us, allowed us a few days to review them, and provided written feedback. Then, he would rate that, and we'd have another touchpoint.

Beyond the on-site visits, we had two touchpoints and some email communication. That was sufficient and probably the right amount. I don't think we needed to have a call every week.

What did you find most impressive about them?

SOLTECH took great care in delivering what they promised. In my experience with technology vendors, that's not always common. We didn't consider this a single engagement; we wanted to build a partnership and develop a good product. Ultimately, we wanted someone we could have a long-term relationship with. SOLTECH created that trust with us to do some future projects. This was one of the smoothest technology-related projects we've done recently.

Are there any areas they could improve?

For a longer-running project, I'd expect more dedicated project management. There would be touchpoints with a project manager on their side and a project manager on our side, pulling those teams together. For this particular project, it wasn't necessary. Still, I'd see it as essential for a longer-running project with a broader scope, for example, if we were doing a two-year-long data analytics initiative or something similar.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Understand who you'll work with on SOLTECH's side and ensure they fit the specific project. It's always essential to have the right fit. Thankfully, we had the right fit right out of the gate. SOLTECH spent some time evaluating who they felt would be the best fit.

Ensure they're the right fit and that they're going to work through things with you. Define the scope beforehand and what you're trying to accomplish.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SOLTECH has helped us implement Slate.org, a web application specific to higher education that handles admissions and student relationship management. We had gotten the platform before SOLTECH became involved, but we didn’t have the resources to build it up to where it needed to be. SOLTECH has taken care of everything from the backend to the web interfaces, queries, and dashboards.

Slate.org is a self-contained platform, but it’s akin to SQL Server and web administration. Now, SOLTECH provides ongoing maintenance.

What is the team composition?

I’ve been in contact with 3–4 teammates from SOLTECH, including Thayer, Billy, and Raymond.

How did you come to work with SOLTECH?

They were recommended to me.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

SOLTECH is immeasurably quick to turn things around; they've offered a right-on-time solution. We didn’t have Slate.org in a usable state before, but SOLTECH has already introduced many fundamental functions into production. They’ve done that within a few weeks, which is fantastic. It’s an ongoing project, so there’s more to come. 

How did SOLTECH perform from a project management standpoint?

SOLTECH has a high level of engagement with us, so I don’t have to wait too long to hear back from them. Everything I’ve put in front of them, they’ve completed successfully with very little tweaking. We typically converse over email threads and Zoom calls. We have weekly update meetings to check in, see where things are, and ensure that all the deliverables are on time, which they are.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I would like to give a shout-out to Thayer.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re committed and have a great eye for detail. Their communication is also impressive. When working with other service providers, the number one issue is usually a lack of communication, which leads to business relationship problems. However, that hasn’t been an issue with SOLTECH.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing they can improve on at this time. They’ve come through with every single deliverable they’ve said they’re going to do.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a good concept of what you’re looking to do. SOLTECH has the skills and acumen to pull things off, so just be engaged and communicate with them. They’re willing to help you get things done.
