I am the business development director for a company called Ponee, which is a UX/UI design agency.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with SOK LAB?

We had just launched our startup back in February 2021. We were looking for somebody to help us develop a website where we could promote our business and attract clients, so we hired SOK LAB.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

SOK LAB built the website itself along with all the illustrations, images, and visual elements. The team did the coding part as well. Besides helping us come up with the web design and layout, they also assisted us with increasing our keyword ranking. They even created promotional materials for us, such as a presentation, in which they created different slogans. 

What is the team composition?

I personally communicated with Alex (Founder & CTO). There was also Max (Technician) who was responsible for most of the development. 

How did you come to work with SOK LAB?

We were looking for some developers in the local market, particularly someone from our town. We found that SOK LAB was also based in Odessa so we met them personally to discuss the possibilities, terms, and prices. They had a pretty impressive portfolio and looked like they knew what they were talking about, so we decided to go with them.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost for this project was a little over $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership began in February 2021. They delivered the website around March 2021, but there is no maintenance required at this point. We won't have any updates for at least a couple of months. SOK LAB simply explained to us how to independently post things on our blog.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We received a 90% success rating on Google for the speed and structure of our pages. SOK LAB was able to produce a simple promotional website that our customers could take a look at to get into what we’re doing. 

Overall, we were pretty pleased with the product that we got. It looks exactly the way we want it to look. We haven’t started any aggressive campaigns yet since we’re just a startup, but we’re sure that everything will work well with the website once we do. 

How did SOK LAB perform from a project management standpoint?

They were pretty good. Everything was done with no delays to the delivery. The timeframe we initially discussed was actually slightly longer than the time it took for them to complete the website. 

Alex was communicating with us all the time and constantly gathering our feedback. They provided us access to their Jira where we were able to track their performance. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about working with SOK LAB was that they knew what they were talking about. They knew how to satisfy their customers and bring in ready-to-go products. At the end of the day, we were able to cooperate with their developers without needing to babysit them. They were professional and knew what we needed, how it should look like, and how it should work. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing that could have been done differently. I have no complaints.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Try to create the brief for the project first and make it as detailed as possible. This will help the guys at  SOK LAB come up with ideas and deliver a product that you will be satisfied with.

I'm the CEO and Founder of DOGMA.CODES company, our specialization mostly is outstaffing and outsourcing development of complex IT solutions for European Startups.

For what projects/services did your company hire SOK LAB?

We needed a CTO - an architect to solve the development tasks associated with the project - thegreensys.com

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We held a closed tender among local and Ukrainian companies in general. The main challenge was to find an experienced CTO Architect with experience designing streaming platforms. This vendor was chosen among 4 companies, the main reason is the implementation of 4 projects in this direction, we were also offered a good discount.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We met with the team, working documentation was prepared:

1. a Gantt chart broken into parts with milestones
2. regular meetings were organized
3. CTO work was set up with our development team

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

1. Regular meetings were organized during the week between our development team and the CTO of SOK LAB
2. Each rally was recorded and video recorded, which greatly contributed to the progress in terms of communications.
3. The CTO has clearly defined the architecture of the resource and its subsequent evolution. Regularly reviewed the finished code. Carried out project risk management.
4. Detailed project documentation was maintained.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

This is not the first time we have turned to other companies for the advice of architects for our projects. I want to note SOK LAB's customer-oriented approach with excellent customer service and delivery timing.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Limited resource in terms of personnel. The company is very compact, with good professionals, I think if they expand the staff and work in the same spirit, they will be successful!
