What challenge were you trying to address with Snowberry Media?

We needed support to redesign and develop our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Snowberry Media redesigned and developed our website from scratch using WordPress. We had an initial meeting with the team to ask and answer questions about the project. We ran the team's proposal with a consultant who used to provide us with technical web support. We returned to Snowberry Media with more questions about the proposal, and they provided an initial survey for us to fill out. Once we signed the agreement, we had weekly meetings with the team to share the process. 

Our previous site had a lot of data, and Snowberry Media was responsible for migrating it to the new site. The team also designed the new site's icons for different processes. We didn't have a search button before, so many people used to go on our site and not find what they needed. Snowberry Media also created different themes since we're a visual organization. We previously had outdated themes, and Snowberry Media added different project types, languages, and ways to sort content.

On our impact page, we asked Snowberry Media for an interactive map so users could see which countries our materials were being consulted in. Snowberry Media also improved our downloading function. Users could download materials free of charge, but we asked them to use our download feature so we could track their impact and where they were downloaded.  

What is the team composition?

We worked with three teammates from Snowberry Media, including Jason (President), Tara (Creative Director & UX Designer), and Kevin (Web Sales Specialist & Project Manager). Tara was involved in the design of our site and icon design. 

How did you come to work with Snowberry Media?

We reached Snowberry Media through a referral from other organizations we contacted. We solicited proposals from different service providers and chose Snowberry Media because we liked their proposal and the previous websites they had created for other clients. Additionally, their cost fit our budget.
How much have you invested with them?

We spent $15,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Snowberry Media from May 2023–March 2024.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After Snowberry Media launched our new site, our web traffic increased. The team met our expectations, and the site looked polished and reflected our organization's identity. The new site's search feature became a great function of our site.

How did Snowberry Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Snowberry Media delivered work on time and on budget. We had good communication via phone calls, emails, and weekly emails, and the team collaborated using Google Docs and Google Sheets.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to give huge kudos to Jason for managing the project. He was great and responsive, and we had weekly meetings in which he provided updates. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Snowberry Media was easy to work with. The team was communicative and good at explaining the project's process. If something wasn't working, Snowberry Media explained the reason since we weren't a technical team. The entire project management and client experience offered by Snowberry Media was great. If we didn't like a design, the team quickly adapted to our requests. We had an in-house designer, so we had our thoughts about the site's design, and it was great to work with the team on that. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything Snowberry Media could improve. Our design issues were probably due to our need to provide more directions to the team, but overall, the engagement was great. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I suggest communicating your needs to Snowberry Media and being involved in the project by providing timely feedback. Don't wait until the fifth meeting to flag something you don't like — that is my biggest feedback to anyone working with the team.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We hired Snowberry to redesign and develop a custom website for our non-profit organization. Our existing website was designed and developed in 2014, so it had been many years since we refreshed our online presence. Our project included homepage design, inner page designs, forms, content migration, SEO configuration, and CMS training.

Some features of our website:

1. Resource library - users can browse resources, search and filter resources, and download resources
2. Donation forms - streamlined user experience for various fundraising programs, such as our membership program for recurring donors and our one time donation platform

After our first collaboration, we also hired Snowberry to create a simple e-commerce solution for pre-orders of a forthcoming book we authored.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Launched a new custom website that reflects the vision and values of the organization
• Saw improved engagement with the website, such as an increased number of downloads of our resources
• Launched an e-commerce solution to faciliate pre-orders of our book

The Snowberry Team was very effective, transparent, and flexible in their management of the project. They always kept us up to date on timeline and progress through email and weekly meetings. The project moved forward steadily and never felt stalled or stuck on their side - sometimes it took us time to gather feedback or consensus, but they were always working in the background to keep different parts moving. 

We had to integrate feedback from quite a few stakeholders, and they were very flexible and accommodating. Everyone we interacted with was kind, professional, and knowledgeable.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their level of responsiveness throughout the entire process and ability to explain technical considerations in terms we could understand. We always knew we'd get a quick answer to any question.

No - we were very happy with our experience with Snowberry Media!

What challenge were you trying to address with Snowberry Media?

We had a website that wasn’t adequate for what we were doing. We wanted a better online presence and a more user-friendly site for customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Snowberry Media did a complete overhaul of our website and made it e-commerce-friendly. We initially reached out, and they asked us how we wanted the layout to look, what pages we wanted, and how we wanted the site’s navigation. 

We had them design a quick-find feature. Customers could type in a two-part number, and it would identify if the product is in stock. Snowberry Media used WordPress to build everything from scratch.

We had three teammates, but we mainly dealt with Jason (President) and Kevin (Web Sales Specialist & Project Manager).

We spent a little over $35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began the engagement in August 2022 and finished it in May 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We saw increased website traffic, and customers stated how user-friendly the website was. It helped reduce call-ins from customers asking for pricing and availability because they could check it on the site.

How did Snowberry Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered on time and within budget. Moreover, the team was very involved throughout the steps. We mainly sent photos via email; we didn’t use any software.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The whole team did a fantastic job; we were very happy with the website. Snowberry Media can design a professional-looking website from start to finish.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wouldn’t put anything past them; they did a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust them to come up with a design and work with them on fine-tuning it. If you don’t like something, let them know; they’ll adjust it accordingly.

The updates were performed promptly and without any issues other than delays on our end, not theirs.

Jason and his team were very responsive and delivered items quickly. We have worked with Jason for years so it's very easy to communicate and get things done.
