I reached out to different companies in the Toronto area, because my company Beyond HVAC is based in Mississauga. Smokyfish had the best offer and most experience based on our initial calls to discuss the scope and budget. Ivan seemed to know what he was talking about. My goal was to create a simple, down to earth site that's a good fit for the HVAC business. I didn't need anything fancy. 

Same with the logo. In this business, it's about simplicity, having something unique but that looks trustworthy. People aren't looking for flashy stuff. I explained what I needed in terms of a logo and showed my competitors. Ivan did a great job because he worked with HVAC and locksmith companies in the past, so he new our expectations.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I think that having this done quickly. But also the result was straight to the point which we liked. Like I mentioned it was simple, down to earth. We liked what we got for our money.

Ivan was our main point of contact. He sent us regular updates. He let us know what and when to expect updates. He explained why there could be delays. But since we were busy installing furnaces etc, we sometimes didn't respond fast enough so that's on us. Ivan bugged us a lot and we appreciate that.

I think it was that they understood the business. They knew that we weren't some fancy startup with thousands of dollars. They also knew that the design and style needs to fit the business you're in

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were happy with the way all the deliverables were presented. There were 3 rounds of branding strategy, 3 rounds of visual identity and 3 rounds of landing web page designs. At each revision we had tangible updates that aligned with our feedback and vision.

They were very transparent on the whole workflow, and we always had timely communication, and delivery was even a bit earlier than we expected.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Great communication. They understood our requests right away, and this saved tons of time in the process

Are there any areas for improvement or something Smokyfish Ltd. could have done differently?

I believe that there were some initial hurdles during the initial revisions that were not what we expected, but coming closer to V2 and ultimately V3 we were left happy with the way things ended up. I believe that Ivan handled our feedback well and since it turned out well, we have no complaints other than in the future it would be best to have certain questions addressed from the get-go.

We were looking for a branding and landing page design development service for our company/product. We needed a team that could create a strong brand identity that resonates with our target audience and stands out from our competitors. This should included designing a unique logo, selecting colors and fonts that reflect our essence, and establishing brand guidelines for consistent usage. 

The landing page development needed to be top-notch, with a user-friendly layout, clear call-to-actions, and persuasive content to drive conversions. The page needed to work seamlessly on all devices. We expected regular updates and opportunities to provide feedback during the process to ensure the final design truly represents our brand and goals. Additionally, we needed design assets and guidelines for future marketing materials.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Consistent updates in Figma or on a staging server based on our agreed upon timeline. Clear communication via meetings and/or email with timely updates.

All milestones were delivered in a timely manner, there were some delays that were reasonable and partially because they accomodated additional revisions. All needs were attended to within a reasonable timeframe. We were able to communicate via Slack which helped a lot!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive thing I would say is the ability to not just do what we asked but also to recommend and provide reasoning behind it, which we loved!

Are there any areas for improvement or something Smokyfish Ltd. could have done differently?

I don't think so! We had a great experience and would highly recommend them! We just hope we can launch our app soon!
