What challenge were you trying to address with SmartProIT?

Our company is big enough to need IT services, but not big enough to have a dedicated IT person working full time. We need someone to fill that role for us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve used SmartProIT as our IT person for about 15 years; they handle everything for us. In the last six months, they’ve updated our server and migrated the old one. They’ve done the voice-over IP transfer and our Microsoft Office cloud migration. Every time we need new hardware, SmartProIT handles it. They also set up software when we need it for construction and walk us through any tech issues.

When we had to upgrade the server, we contacted them and discussed our options and how the project could be handled. SmartProIT found what we needed in a good price range and ordered it. When it arrived, they scheduled the time they’d start the transfer. They did it after hours, and everything was working the next morning.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to start using remote work. We weren’t set up because remote work doesn’t work well within our industry. However, SmartProIT set us up remotely as best as possible.

Additionally, SmartProIT can log in and help us when we have a problem in the office. When something has to be done in person, they come, get the work done, and stay with us to ensure everything is fixed.

We usually work directly with Elias (CEO). Most of the projects are done with Elias and one of his employees.

How did you come to work with SmartProIT?

We found Elias through a referral before he started SmartProIT. When he started the company, we were happy to stay with him.

How much have you invested with them?

Our cloud email and monthly maintenance is around $500 a month. When we upgrade hardware, we usually spend around $2,000. In general, we spend $8,000 a year.

We began working with them in February 2009, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of SmartProIT’s work is excellent. We’ve never had an issue. The best metric is that everything is always up and running. They also stay in touch if anything needs to be adjusted. If the hardware or a program isn’t working, they fix it.

How did SmartProIT perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re always available if we have questions or need something changed or fixed. Overall, they’re very communicative throughout the process, so there are no surprises. We usually stay in touch through emails and phone calls.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Elias is super responsive, friendly, and easy to deal with. Moreover, he makes sure that whatever he’s recommending meets our needs. Sometimes technology is too big or too much, but he finds reasonably priced hardware and ensures everything is the right fit.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about them is their responsiveness. They don’t put us in a queue and tell us they’ll get back to us in three days. If they can’t answer the phone or email right away, they let us know.

No, there’s nothing to improve.

Let them know what type of company you are and what you do in your daily operations. The more they know about your work, the better they can address your needs.

We hired SmartProIT for their IT consulting, internet security, and computer network implementation services.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, SmartProIT performed an assessment of our network and security needs. They discovered some vulnerabilities in our network and found that we needed to implement internet security updates. We didn’t want to be a victim of hacking or ransomware attacks.
At present, SmartProIT continues to provide us with such services. They’ve also installed software and hardware for us, including routers and other network equipment. The team has installed the hardware on-site but does the maintenance remotely.

We work with Elias (CEO) and one other teammate.

Another organization recommended SmartProIT to me.
How much have you invested with them?
Our investment is around $25,000 per year.

We started working together around January 2020, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our network and internet speed have gone up, and we haven’t had any breaches. Moreover, the software that SmartProIT has installed and the training they’ve provided have been important in educating my team. Our staff knows what to do and not to do based on the threats out there
How did SmartProIT perform from a project management standpoint?
SmartProIT has met our deadlines and budget. Elias has done a great job. He knows what he’s talking about; he’s smart and professional. He’s also been in business for a while now, so I feel comfortable working with him, especially since he’s a recommendation by someone else. To communicate, we mainly use WhatsApp, text messages, and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They always respond within the same day. Most of the time, they respond in less than an hour when we have questions or concerns. This is crucial because things happen so fast these days. Overall, anyone who has concerns about their internet security today has to have a team that has experience, expertise, and certifications — that’s SmartProIT.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any. We’ve been truly happy with them.

Talk to SmartProIT’s existing customers. Ask questions before hiring the team, and look at their credentials and certifications. This applies not only to hiring SmartProIT but also to hiring other companies. Spend time and do your due diligence. If you do that, you’ll find what we found out about SmartPro IT — they’re highly responsible and responsive.

I’m a system manager for Tom Gallagher Insurance, an insurance agency. I do all the reporting and a little bit of everything in the company.

We needed an IT service for our agency.

What was the scope of their involvement?
SmartProIT is our IT team. We put in a ticket anytime we need anything, and they immediately handle it. They help us remove emails, add new users, solve Outlook and computer issues, and troubleshoot printers, fax machines, phones, and more. Basically, SmartProIT is our first call if something doesn’t work.
When we were in an office, they came in on-site. However, we’re now working from home, so they connect to our computers or troubleshoot the issue through phone calls or Zoom meetings.
What is the team composition?
We have two team members assigned to our company. We contact one email, and whoever is ready to work on the ticket reaches out.

When I got into the agency, they were already with us.

I’ve been with the agency for nine and a half years, so the relationship probably started in January 2013.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since we’ve worked with SmartProIT for years, they’ve helped us in many ways. Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, they implemented Citrix Workspace, which didn’t make much sense at the time because we were an office. However, when we had to work from home, Citrix Workspace was the main reason we adapted quickly.
We didn’t have to go to the office to log into our computers; we could log in remotely. If we hadn’t had this option before the COVID-19 pandemic, we wouldn’t have been able to work without hiccups during this period.
How did SmartProIT perform from a project management standpoint?
If someone needs a new computer, monitor, or keyboard, they go through the proper chain before ordering it. Project management isn’t on them, but they’re swift and efficient at handling any task. Moreover, it’s very quick and easy to contact SmartProIT when we have issues because they have a great ticketing system.
Additionally, if something is lingering, they don’t leave us alone. The team reminds us that they’re still working on the issue and gives us constant updates.
What did you find most impressive about them?
As we grow as an agency, SmartProIT thinks of different ways for us to use them and improve. They try to come up with ways to help us.

No, they do a lot for us; there’s nothing to improve.

I’ve actually recommended them to a friend’s company because they were lacking IT services. I think everybody should have someone to fix IT issues for them.

The team also gives us recommendations when we need to purchase equipment based on what will work with our current and future needs. SmartProIT delivers on- and off-site services.
