We’ve created a platform that brings together various freelancers from the film industry, including directors, cinematographers, location managers, makeup artists, actors, music directors, musicians, writers, and more. The platform helps people who want to create content to assemble a film crew virtually. We’re currently only catering to ad film production.

What challenge were you trying to address with Skypearlinfotech?

We created an MVP, but we needed help to scale it up and develop the app further.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially had a proof of concept, and Skypearlinfotech has developed it into a full-blown platform on the MERN stack. The core business logic came from us, but we brainstormed with them to figure out how to make it scalable.

The platform is a marketplace that brings together people who want to commission projects. Additionally, it generates quotations for film production on the spot. They’ve built it on MERN stack, MongoDB, React, and Node.js, and it’s hosted on AWS.

What is the team composition?

We’ve mostly interacted with one teammate who’s been anchoring for us. In between, we’ve interacted with other people.

How did you come to work with Skypearlinfotech?

A friend who was part of the initial MVP development recommended them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent approximately $11,000–$12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around January 2021, and the engagement is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve created from scratch something that didn’t exist in our industry. There were several casting websites in Hollywood that offered actors, but that’s just one vertical on our platform. We assemble full-blown film crews by clicking and selecting portfolios. Overall, the reaction we get from most clients is that the platform is a game changer.

How did Skypearlinfotech perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re cooperative, good at listening, and reasonably open to feedback. Delays have been mostly on our part because it’s an evolving business logic, so the requirements keep changing.

For communication, they wanted us to switch to Slack, but we were pretty old school. We initially managed deployments through Bitbucket and then moved to Google Drive and shared Excel sheets to address bugs and implementations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re receptive to feedback. Moreover, the team gives sound solutions and is always transparent.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should scale up because our needs will evolve in a few months, and it’ll be great if we can engage them further.

Skypearlinfotech designed and developed our website from scratch using React. They also developed the site’s backend. Their team has also created a custom plan for us that addresses software and coding issues.

We worked with the project manager, two backend developers, and two frontend developers.

We were looking for a company that could provide web development support. We interviewed Skypearlinfotech, and they were the best fit for the project. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $25,000 for the development; maintenance fees were a separate cost.

This partnership was from November 2021–June 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The code Skypearlinfotech developed was thoroughly tested — it was of great quality. Their team went beyond my expectations. 

How did Skypearlinfotech perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team met all the deadlines, which they helped define. Skypearlinfotech delivered the entire project within 6–7 months. We used Jira as a ticketing system; Skypearlinfotech worked in sprints. We also used Slack for daily communication and Google Meet for status updates. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Skypearlinfotech had very skilled technical developers. Also, their project management was excellent — they stayed within budget. Their team is constantly improving their technical skills, which is good because technology is always changing. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Overall, no there were no improvements needed.

I’d highly recommend them, especially because they deliver on time.

We engaged Skypearlinfotech to build our website and develop a CRM.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

After meeting with the Skypearlinfotech team to discuss our goals, they gathered the requirements and developed our website and CRM. They used HTML to build the website from scratch, which shares information about our company and our story. They also designed the UI/UX and built the CRM from scratch and were responsible for conducting testing before launching the application. Within the CRM, the team built task and user management features. 

What is the team composition?

We worked primarily with the technology leader from Skypearlinfotech. 

How did you come to work with Skypearlinfotech?

We found Skypearlinfotech through a referral. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested about ₹700,000 (approximately $8,600 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Skypearlinfotech between July–December 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Skypearlinfotech performed excellent quality work. They met 100% of our requirements, and we’re happy with the results. We’ve had a great experience overall, and we look forward to working together in the future to enhance the functionality of our CRM. 

How did Skypearinfotech perform from a project management standpoint?

Skypearlinfotech managed the project well; they submitted deliverables ahead of time and always addressed issues quickly. The team kept us in the loop throughout the project, and we typically met in person.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with how effectively Skypearlinfotech gathered and documented our UI/UX requirements. They developed a clear plan that was easy for our employees to follow. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing Skypearlinfotech could improve on.
