I work for an insurance agency that offers a spectrum of insurance products to help people with their life, health, wealth and money. We help people use insurance to live a better life not just be there if something goes wrong. I support this company with project management, business coaching, and content development.

For what projects/services did your company hire SiteTuners, and what were your goals?

The insurance agency hired SiteTuners for a full website redesign and development with conversion rate optimization and marketing and to make tactical changes to the current website while the redesign was in progress.

The support Site Tuners is providing includes the full range of related services such copywriting, lead magnet production, funnel development, CRM selection and set up and more. The insurance agency's goals are increase lead generation and improve the close rate resulting in increased revenue and profits.

How did you select SiteTuners and what were the deciding factors?

I have used and recommended Site Tuners going back 10 years at other companies. Having seen the results of using Site Tuners and changing service providers the impacts of their services of website traffic and conversions made the choice an easy one.

The simple difference is Site Tuners is a conversion optimization company that builds websites as opposed to other companies that are software and website developers that have learned about website conversion. 

There are subtle differences in technique that make a world of difference in the results. Site Tuners is clearly a company that focuses on website conversions and also builds websites. Most other other companies are website developers than integrate conversation methods. If you are looking to generate revenue from your website, the difference matters.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The insurance agency selected a monthly retainer option to do the work. This gave the flexibility to both make tactical changes to the current live website while taking the time to complete design and develop a brand new website. This approach allowed for great flexibility to meet adapt changing needs as the project evolved and we all learned more. It also meant that design elements and features could be developed and deployed to the current website and used for the new one.

The project kicked off with a meeting intake with our assigned director of optimization, Eric, asking questions of the CEO to get not only the technical information but critical information for the brand voice. We would eventually see this used it the layout, design and copy. Normally the meeting would be an hour but it was the meeting was productive and everyone had time to continue on for 2 hours.

With this information the Site Tuners team immediate went to work on creating some tactical changes to the insurance agency's home page and developing the wire frames for the new website. Upon approval of the wire frames the team went right to work on the site design. While the wire frames and website design were being developed Site Tuners continued to make tactical changes to the website. As features of the new website were developed some were able to be put to use immediately on the live website.

Simultaneously Site Turner helped with the selection of a CRM tool. For the insurance agency's needs and budget at the time RedTail Technology's CRM was selected. Site Tuners also helped with the design of a new lead magnet. While the insurance agency wrote the initial draft, Site Tuner performed the editing, layout and graphics. It's been received well.

We worked primarily with our Director of Optimization, Eric, who managed the team and brought in the appropriate resources at the right time.  This included a couple developers, copyrighters for the website and lead magnets, and even the president of the company when needed for some additional perspective. 

The Director of Optimization was very skilled understanding not only the technical aspects of conversion rate optimization but understanding business, customers, and translating business objectives into technial requiremental. He was a strong project manager as well, managing the project objectives, tasks, timeline and expectations to ensure success with an aggressive schedule.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

While the full website redesign was occurring Site Tuners also made tactical changes to the insurance agency's current website, starting with a home page refresh, changing the look and feel of the site and adding additional information as well as improving on site SEO. Almost immediately there was an increased traffic to the site and actions on the calls to action. 

The website redesign is an amazing piece of work and a massive step forward for the insurance agency. The Site Tuners team really outdid themselves capturing the brand and its message. Additionally, all of the insurance products were orgnaized for simple user navigation while simultaneously creating unque pages for each insurance product. The flexiblity to for marketing, social sharing and even user navigations through the site are tremendous.

The first point about project management you notice is during the intial intake meeting.  The Site Tuners team balances taking a storng leadership role and being open, listening and following the client's lead. The Site Tuners team will develop the options based on what they've heard as well as their experience with what works. The balancing works well. 

The meetings with the team are recorded and storaged for both the Site Tuners team and client to review. This enables the Site Tuners team to reveiw the meetigns and capture all the information, cutting down on meetings, missed information and enables the clients to also ensure completeness. 

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Whats most impressive about Site Tuner is literally the results. Ultimately websites are for driving business. How different companies do that will vary.  Site Tuners gets the results. There are plenty of companies that will build flasher websites, but they don't get the same results.  They psychology of conversion is about much more than pretty pictues. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not being an expert in conversion rate optimization it's hard to say what the Site Tuner's team could do better. They cost more, but you get more too.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since we started working with SiteTurners we have had an increase of revenue for our online services. Because of the advice of Marty early on to have our services made available virtually, when COVID hit in March, our transition to online services was seamless. Had it not been for their advice and guidance, we would have been behind the curve — they saved us.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

This has been the easiest team to work with in every aspect. Communication is huge, and Jeff is alway available to help me during regular circumstances and in a crunch.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SiteTuners ran a detailed audit of our site and compared it to our top competitors’ sites. They asked a ton of questions so they understood my business. From there, they created wireframes for our website and have changed my entire site.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since hiring SiteTuners, our business has exploded. We’ve increased our revenue by 45% year-over-year over the last five years. On top of that, traffic to our site increased by about 300%. SiteTuners allows me to focus on my business because they handle the digital marketing aspect so well.

How did SiteTuners perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a beginning of the month call that usually lasts an hour, and a mid-month call that lasts about half an hour. In each of these calls, we discuss what will help us meet our business goals and how we can do it effectively.

They keep me in the loop on everything. They work well with my other vendors as well, which has completely streamlined the project.   

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very knowledgeable. They have specialists in every aspect of digital marketing. On top of that, they took the time to get to know my business. Other digital marketing companies use the same tactics for all of their clients, but SiteTuners provides a bespoke and effective solution.

I don’t think they need to change anything. We’ve continued to work with them because they run the project well and we continue to see improvements.

For what projects/services did your company hire SiteTuners, and what were your goals?

We hired SiteTuners for conversion optimization. We had a lot of traffic but only a very small percentage was converting into a paid subscriber. Our goal was to increased conversions by 20%.

How did you select SiteTuners and what were the deciding factors?

SiteTuners was recommended to us by a friend who runs a large e-commerce website. He said his conversions had increased significantly, far more than our expectation so we felt reasonably confident they could help us.

SiteTuners first took a deep dive into our business model and analytics. They asked us many questions and got familiar with our service. After the initial consultation they gave us a proposal for a monthly package we could subscribe that would make ongoing tweaks and changes to raise our conversion rate to the desired amount.

All steps they suggested were simple front end steps that did not incur additional charges to our established contract. They did not suggest spending on additional campaigns as we already had enough traffic to meet our targets.

We primarily worked with Alex and a front end designer. Alex made the recommendations based on data analysis and the front end designer made the changes after we agreed to them.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

A 20% increase in conversion was our threshold for success. After 3 months, we hit a 20% increase and after 6 we were at 30%.

They were very straightforward and clear on their deliverables and timelines. They did not try to sell us on quick turn arounds and made it clear that they worked on data-driven results and the timeline relied largely on the amount of traffic it took for their tests to be significant.

Very personable and easy to work with. Alex constantly followed up with us and kept us in the loop in terms of progress being made. We never felt like work was not being done on our project.

Since beginning the work with SiteTuners we have seen our company grow exponentially. We have increase leads by 75% and profits by 45%. The results has been more then what we expected! and this is without increasing marketing spend!!

Seamless! They analyze how we work and how they fit into our process and then has become an essential part of our team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The effectiveness! The are extremely effective in what they do. Not just getting the results that was promised but also in meetings and work process.

They cut out all the back and fourth so that working with them is not another ¨Task¨ for our team. You can easily see that they are pros in what they do.

For our company as we are not the most advanced in digital marketing I can not see any areas of improvement. All I would say I wish they did social media marketing as we would easily give them our account for that.

Before engaging SiteTuners , our website conversion rate fluctuated Between 0.8-1%. Since implementing the changes they recommended our site conversion sits around 1.4-1.5%. May not seem like much however when you have 50K+ visits per month, half a percent is a lot!

Really good

I've worked with several agencies and most seemed to provide generic solutions. SiteTuners really assessed not just our website, but our overall business and came up with a tailored solution

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their quality of work is great. The relationship between our company and theirs is one that fosters creative testing. The team’s feedback is constructive and they get back to us quickly. The post-mortem on all of their tests is always clear, concise, and provides direction on our next steps.

Overall, through the years of testing, we’ve generated over $1 million in incremental revenue. While not all tests are successful, we’ve continued to grow throughout our relationship together.

How did SiteTuners perform from a project management standpoint?

We have regular calls scheduled to review our upcoming tests, as well as roll out future ones. Their feedback always provides deep insight into why a test has worked or failed. That feedback allows us to come up with the next phases of the testing. They also take our feedback into account and supply their own, so it’s always a very constructive environment.

They took a very thorough approach from end-to-end. They spent a lot of time working to understand the nuances of our business. The final design incorporated all of that knowledge.

The workflow was very smooth and clear.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

SiteTuners insight, analysis, and detailed guidance have been extraordinary! They provided specific recommendations that produce results measured in terms of increased order conversion rates, decreased bounce rates, higher online leads generation, and other important key performance indicators. The advice provide by SiteTuners is comprehensive and can be overwhelming. They helped prioritize an action plan that was based on implementing changes that providde the highest return on investment. If you are serious about your website, then I highly recommend that SiteTuners become part of your “team”. They are experts at what they do and will substantially improve your online activities.

I am the co-owner of a business that sells sporting goods and firearms-related merchandise across a chain of stores and online.

We have had an online store since 1997, but since 2015 we have lost market share and online sales as a percentage of our total sales have gone down. Our average SEO rank positions, total traffic, and conversions had also declined in relation to our competitors. We needed a redesign of our site, an improvement to SEO and organic search results, an improvement in conversions, improved online marketing, and an increase in sales.

The goal was to upgrade, redesign, and improve our website and online purchasing experience to increase organic search traffic and to increase conversions and sales.

How did you select this vendor?

They were recommended to us by another agency as having a lot of expertise in site improvements designed to increase traffic and conversions. We based our selection upon prior successful projects, cost, proposed solution, and ease of working with the management team.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They started with the 'low hanging fruit' approach, targeting those areas that could be immediately improved with minimal investment and labor. From there, we moved into a more advanced re-design that involved the rebuilding of templates, changes to checkout, tracking of additional metrics, and improvements to the processing flow of orders. They assisted with the presentation, reviewed all changes before going live, and they provided continuous feedback throughout the entire process. They kept us up-to-date with meetings and tracked our progress through the project.

What was the team composition?

We had a team of 3 people that we worked closely with. We maintained constant contact with our main point of contact via mail and Skype. This team would have periodic group video meetings to review progress and review upcoming stages in the project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our organic search results, conversions, and traffic improved dramatically after implementing the suggested changes. We track the traffic for not just our site, but 10 other competitors. After our project was completed we had improved from 8th place among our competitors, to 2nd place: a dramatic improvement over the course of a few months! We also saw an increase in our conversion rates, overall improvement in search ranking statistics, and increases in traffic flow and traffic retention. A resounding success!

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Communication was constant, and project tracking was excellent. We always knew where we stood in the overall project, What we had left and when we were targeting to get those goals completed. If we ever had questions, they were available to get them answered quickly. Project Management was excellent throughout the process.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Communication, organization, and the end results were what I found most impressive with SiteTuners. They communicated continuously throughout the process, they were extremely organized and the project was managed carefully. The end results were more than I initially expected as well. The payback for this project was almost immediate.

Are there any areas for improvement?

For a small company like ours operating on narrow margins, this was an expensive project; however, the immediate return on the project cost combined with the ongoing improvements to profitability definitely justify the initial cost.
