From the beginning, The Silver Logic team was not at all concerned with working on a project that had a couple of land mines. They took the challenges head first and have been able to actually get our product in the market place and resolve any bugs that pop up along the way. They communicate well issues and solutions.

The project management teams are always attentive and respond within 30 mins of your message being sent, which is fast for us because we have had teams that take hours to respond. Not to mention, this team has continued to give us attention even after hours and during weekends. We can always count on them to be there for us when needed most.

While their enthusiasm for building an optimal solution is commendable, it's also important to balance this with the client's needs and budgetary constraints. In situations where a rewrite isn't feasible, it might be beneficial to embrace the challenge of enhancing and adapting the existing system to meet project requirements effectively.

The primary goal of this project was to design, develop and launch a new ecommerce website that will be modern, user-friendly, and optimized for search engines. The website was designed to effectively showcase our products and services, attract new customers, and generate sales. The platform was developed using WordPress as a CMS and Woocommerce as the e-comm solution. Custom development wa big part of it since all of our front end is customize to our needs and our business.

• Increase in website traffic and average session time as well as the reduction in bounce rate. Also, the development of custom functionalities and features that are unique to our business and to our customers. Depending on the complexity and impact of the tasks they would tike less time or more time to complete them even when they were previously evaluated. But despite that, the communication was always effective between our teams, specially when it came to resolving pressing / urgent issues

Their well developed and established development process. From having their own platform to keep track of all requirements, user stories and open items to how they manage sprints.

The only area of improvement that I can think of is in the estimations and/or the way they score certain stories. At the moment there's no connection between story complexity and final price and that might be confusing at times.

Customer-need-centered and fast in reacting to changes. TSL has a culture of thinking ahead, not just blindly implementing requirements, which leads to a better problem solution or product than intended.

Are there any areas for improvement or something {provider_name} could have done differently?

A few times, the team of developers got too passionate about a research topic and started it without our direct approval. This did not influence the overall budget or timeline and was quickly and transparently resolved by the product owner

With the change that TV & Movie content can be watched on several platforms, marketers don't know where to send potential consumers to watch or buy. As a result, we hired Silver Logic team to develop a custom solution that makes digital ads intelligent. Our goal was to have a scalable solution that could handle millions of connections per minute to be able to drive revenue.

We found them through a direct referral from a previous partner who had used them. Our original agency was not skilled enough to build the software.

We work together like they are part of our company. We ideate new features, create product spec documents and then run weekly sprints to complete each feature. We then would test that new feature, then deploy it after feedback. This process is documented in their internal systems to monitor the progress of several features at a time.

Silver Logic provided a project manager, designers, and 3-4 developers to do both front-end and back-end work.

We have collected information on and routed hundreds of millions of consumers, allowing us to reach almost $1MM in recurring revenue.

They act like they are a part of your team and show ownership as if it was their own company. They not only do the work as expected but also provide Thought Leadership to help drive the company's vision from the technical perspective.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They could be more forceful in no allowing me to scope creep to keep me on budget.

We just launched recently so still in the works; however, the previous team we had spent 9 months on this and created a complete mess. David's team came in took over and within a couple of months re-build the platform, app and back end systems.

I am the Co-Founder and CEO of Recimee.com. We are an online recipe platform. Users can access our database of curated recipes and post/share their own recipes with other users on the site. Kind of like a social network for recipes.

They were hired to develop our website which includes many different features - social network, calendar, shopping lists... It was a big undertaking.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We originally were working with another developer, as we were not aware of SilverLogic at the time. The previous developer shut down and recommended SilverLogic. The experience with SLG was exponentially better. They are incredibly detail oriented, as is necessary in web development. We were impressed with other projects they showed us. And we really enjoyed our initial interactions with them. They understood our vision. It has been a great relationship.

All custom built, layout/design of website, front page newsfeed, banner, mobile responsive, social network, calendar function, recipe uploads, website scrapping, google search (SEO), user profiles... (I don't know all the technical jargon).

We interface with two members on a regular basis, Project Owners, who then work with a team of developers and designers to build out features we request.

We have yet to fully launch the site. Early next year is our target. But we are beyond impressed with what they have built for us, as are many of our friends and family members to whom we have shown it.

Our Project Owners are very responsive. Either via email or through their project management system. They are readily available to hop on a webinar or phone call. Very quick turnaround once we have requested a new feature and very quick execution.

They are awesome at what they do and are enthusiastic about their clients' ventures. It seems like a nice culture and we just really like working with them.

I'm the lead engineer at a nonprofit that provides custom tools for social justice organizing teams and the people that they organize.

For what projects/services did your company hire The SilverLogic, and what were your goals?

We were having issues with bandwidth and a couple pressing issues that fell somewhat out of the scope of the larger product vision we were working towards, including CRM integration and data collection.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We needed to work with a team that really understands graph data modeling, cypher, and neo4j, along with GraphQL and javascript. We found Silver Logic in a specialized forum for Neo4j users and developers. The fact that Neo4j had hired Silver Logic to build software for them sent a clear signal that they had the specialized knowledge we needed for this work.

They developed tools that could be triggered by GraphQL mutation requests that then retrieve relevant data from our Neo4j database and update our partner's CRM in real-time, with throttling in order to not violate the API terms of service, using node/express.js.

There was one very technical business contact and two engineers that helped us out.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Most importantly: they were able to meet the requirements we set out for them. There was sometimes some back and forth due to gaps in our explanations and the occasional very reasonable misunderstanding. The whole team always maintained a very high level of friendliness and professionalism throughout the entire process.

The used a great tool called approvd.io which made it really easy to communicate the scope of the exact work to be done and maintain everything in a really granular way without a ton of overhead. We communicated easily and liberally throughout the process via email and slack; everything felt very comfortable and natural.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were incredibly patient as we had many delays on our end. There were multiple months while we went silent because of other priorities, and when we were ready, everything picked up again as though nothing had stopped. I also really appreciated that there was great professionalism without being cold—very nice folks.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There was a switch-up of engineers in the middle of the process that I think caused some issues because they didn't really have the context they needed to pick things up where they were. This was addressed fairly quickly by putting the original engineer back on the work, which was a satisfactory resolution.

I understand why it happened like that since we moved so slowly to give feedback, so it's not really their fault, but I think they might have handled that hand-off better by providing more context to the second engineer up-front.

I’m the CEO of a large chain of cosmetic laser service centers. We offer laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, laser fat loss, and injectables.

What challenge were you trying to address with The SilverLogic?

The point-of-sale systems available were not ideal for our business model, as we have a number of unique aspects to our operation, including timelines for when people can receive treatment due to mandatory waiting periods and the medical nature of our operations. Using these ill-fit systems led to lots of headaches and the hiring of s significant number of additional teammates to manage everything. This led to our choice to create a custom solution for our business.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built the software completely from scratch, as well as the services around the application. The app itself is a fully functioning point of sale software, including account management and reporting capabilities. There’s also a marketing component to it, as well as integrations with three different financial companies.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with multiple teams from SilverLogic: a UX/UI designer, coders, QA resources, and more. There are approximately eight people assigned across two teams over the last three years. We’ve also interacted with the CEO.

How did you come to work with The SilverLogic?

I was looking for software developers and connected with them through a charitable organization that I’m the co-founder of. We originally tried to work with a team based in India, but the fit wasn’t good. There was a lot of lost communication, and that didn’t work for us, and we ended up building things that weren’t as we intended them to be. There was also an issue in differing time zones.

SilverLogic was a godsend in that they were local, and we were able to visit and meet with their team to hash out our questions and be direct.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $3 million to date.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since March 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve been able to reduce the need for certain staff members, going from needing three staff members per location down to one.

Using the software has increased collections dramatically, reduced bad debt, and reduced the percentage of accounts that we had to do in-house financing on. The software integrates with QuickBooks online to import and export transactions between the two.

Running the phone system through the software alone will save us around $40,000 per year. As we expand the business, the savings could be multiplied by hundreds, as it also saves us subscription costs from other third-party systems we used to need.

How did The SilverLogic perform from a project management standpoint?

They communicate well and are a local development team. They’re responsive when we ask questions and proactive about suggesting things that we haven’t thought about including in the build. This helps prevent potential issues in operations.

They’re very straightforward. One of the things that we like the most about them is that they provide a built-out design before developing a single line of code. What this does for us is prevents us from having to deal with errors after the software is launched. We now understand what we’re getting and are able to approve every element. The code is reviewed side-by-side with our design specifications before launch. It’s been a great project management experience.

We use Slack to communicate, but they also have a proprietary system that they use to manage the project cost and get approvals from us. They also use InVision and Figma for the designs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They simply write clean code. Additionally, they’re not in a rush; their development team isn’t trying to get something out as soon as possible, as the truly care about what they’re producing. This way, they’re not going to launch something that isn’t optimized and has been put through quality tests.

The insights they provide into the problems we’re facing allow us to be more intelligent with our decision-making around what we’re building. Whereas most firms would build whatever we told them to, SilverLogic has thought things through with us. One example of this is how they wouldn’t just left-align everything on our site, as most people are right-handed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The main issue is that timelines differ when you’re getting quality. As a business owner, I want everything yesterday, but if I push to get it then, there will be issues with the code.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Think through every aspect of what you’re trying to build. People tend not to realize how involved software development is, particularly around the fact that people assume things happen in software without you having to do anything, but in reality, you have to tell the software what you want it to do. Nothing happens automatically. Therefore, there’s a learning curve around software development, and SilverLogic was very helpful in getting us up to speed.

Additionally, don’t underestimate your project size. Have a conversation with SilverLogic and be specific about what you need. They do a great job of managing expectations, rather than lowballing you on the price and then delivering something that’s insufficient. e
