Please describe your organization.

Our company provides e-learning training for the aviation industry worldwide. We provide full solutions on the web and also within the mobile environment.

What is your position?

I’m a project manager in the IT department. I assist on the project to make sure it fulfills our requirements.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Sigmapoint?

We wanted to develop a mobile application that would satisfy our clients’ e-learning training needs.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

We provided Sigmapoint with specific elements, and our clients need to do the training offline, so they helped us in programming the whole application on iOS for the iPad, and then helped us publish it to the App Store. All of the codes they did on their own, so we just provided them with the designs and markups for everything. They were responsible for developing the rest.

How did you come to work with Sigmapoint?

We were recommended by another company to work with Sigmapoint because they did some mobile applications for them.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

I’d prefer to keep that information confidential.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started during the spring and they did some work for one week and further on I did some more work. Later on they continued to work on the project, so it's actually been a long process.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Currently, the application is still in beta testing, so we haven't actually released it for the public, but the code quality is very good. If there are some bugs, they can quickly change that and fix the bugs before release, so I think they have done a pretty good job. They have very high quality work and are very professional.

What distinguishes Sigmapoint from other providers?

They’re on our same time, so that's good for us. Before this, we had no experience in developing mobile applications, actually. We don't have anything to compare Sigmapoint to, but so far we are happy with them.

Is there anything Sigmapoint could have improved or done differently?

Not at the moment. Our project manager is very professional and he keeps his deadlines. We don't have any complaints at all.

What is your position?

I am the founder, and the head of Product.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Sigmapoint?

We were looking for a company who would be able to architect and develop the mobile app from scratch in preparation for public release.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

Sigmapoint was responsible for the overall architecture as well as some Parse framework integration for back-end, and iOS development to build a fully functional mobile app based on the UI/UX [user interface/user experience] provided.

How did you come to work with Sigmapoint?

We went through a pretty rigorous review of their work process and code samples based on their portfolio. We also reviewed some of the apps previously developed by Sigmapoint. The conversations we had with their lead iOS developer were also great.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The size of the project was around $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Sigmapoint around July 1, 2015, and the work is still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the results of the project?

The finished product is amazing. We are currently waiting on App Store approval from Apple.

What distinguishes Sigmapoint from other providers?

Sigmapoint possesses a rare combination of professionalism, technical skills, and problem solving skills that are very hard to find. I have worked with freelancers more than eight years, more than 100 in total, and the team at Sigmapoint is far and away the cream of the crop.

In hindsight, are there areas in which they could improve, or things you might do differently?

Our only limitation was our own budget, which was not very big. I have nothing negative to say. Our collaboration was a positive experience that is still ongoing.
