The scope of the work was to take my designs for our company intranet and develop them into a SharePoint site. The deliverables were a working intranet site, editable webpart code, and assistance with navigating the SharePoint environment.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We recived a working SharePoint site that effectively mirrors our original designs. Also, we consistently received support throughout the process, with SharePoint Designs delivering prompt, helpful guidance whenever requested. Working with them has been an enjoyable experience, and our expectations were not only met but surpassed, all while staying within budget.

Their project management was great! They delivered both on time and ahead of time, and they were always responsive to our needs in a timely manner.

To create a dynamic and user friendly intranet portal for our  staff. The ability to send information via email and have it dyanimically posted on the intranet. Create a community and central location for staff to find work resources and documentation.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They met benchmark deadline each time and were very responsible and communicated very effective.  I constanlty saw progress being made on the site during our weekly meetings.

They provided the best project management I have seen from a Vendor. Alwasy on time, alwasy responsive to my emails and calls. They were flexabilie and provided a pleasant work experience and delivered the end product.

The patience and ability to be calm and confident in there skill. They were a perfect match for me and my team and examplify what every vendor experience should be like.

Nothing.. they are masters of their skill set and provided exactly what I needed.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the COO for a company called Damage Prevention Solutions LLC. We manufacture underground damage prevention equipment for public utilities.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with SharePoint Designs?

We started utilizing SharePoint internally for all of our workflow, repository, central calendar and documentation and stuff through Microsoft 365. Our intranet was a SharePoint site and left a little bit to be desired, functionally speaking.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We contacted SharePoint Designs to help us build out improvements to that internal site based on requirements that we laid out for them. They came up with the layout based on our list of uses that we wanted to have, and then added recommendations from there. Once we had the design finalized, they implemented everything and migrated it over to our live site so that we could start using it.

They did such a good job on the internal project that we actually brought their team on to update our website as well, which has just launched, and we are quite pleased with the final product. The team is providing ongoing support for that site now as well.

What was the team composition?

They had a team of people working on the project behind the scenes, but most of the interfacing was between Venkatesh (CEO), myself, and our marketing coordinator.

How did you come to work with SharePoint Designs?

I believe I found them through a LinkedIn post originally. I reached out, we had a dialogue, and just took things from there. I liked their process and the pricing was competitive, so we decided to partner with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $10,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership started around May 2020 and is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All of the feedback we’ve received both internally and externally on the sites they worked on has been incredibly positive. The internal site in particular is much cleaner and more functional for our team, which has boosted the efficiency of our workflows significantly.

How did SharePoint Designs perform from a project management standpoint?

I don’t believe they ever missed a deadline, and if they did it was because of one of our change orders. We communicated primarily over Teams and Zoom calls if they had to take over any of our computers for anything. They always helped us to stay on top of everything that was going on, which we really appreciated.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The level of customer service that they provide is really on another level. We didn’t go that far outside of the original scope, but we did ask them for some changes later in the project and never had to worry about the cost of those. They were always willing to make sure that we were satisfied with the final form of the product no matter what, which was outstanding.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be hard for me to pinpoint anything specific that I think they could be doing differently. You can get ahead of just about any problem as long as you’re communicating in an open and honest way, and they always were.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have your requirements and goals clearly mapped out in advance, because the better you do that, the faster you’ll be able to hit the ground running with their team and the fewer changes you’ll have to make down the line.

SharePoint Designs developed a new intranet hub, including integrations with our learning, development, and analytics platforms. The team focused on developing the intranet site and ensuring the requested integrations were set up properly to achieve our final goals.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

SharePoint Designs met our launch time and ensured a smooth implementation and access. We also appreciated their constant support and excellent quality assurance. The user adaptation rate for the hub was more than 50% in the first month of launching. We now have a hub for our employees to access the information and resources they need. The feedback from employees is that the design is friendly and easy to access and connect to resources.

SharePoint Designs’ project management was excellent. They were constantly focused on meeting our expectations. We communicated via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

The difference in time zones was sometimes difficult, but they always tried to make it work.
