I am the CIO of an Applied Behavior Analysis company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Share IT, and what were your goals?

We hired Share IT to develop custom SharePoint server-side solutions and SPFx solutions, event receivers, timer jobs, C# console jobs, PowerShell scripts, APIs, client-side SPAs, Android and iOS mobile apps, a webRTC app, etc. Our goal was to highly customize our SharePoint on-premises environment to build clinical and administrative tools to support our providers and admin employees.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found Share IT on an online freelancer marketplace. We selected them based on their past project experience with SharePoint, their skillset, and their high ratings for previous SharePoint projects.

Because there are so many projects that Share IT has worked on over the years, it is hard to go into detail. But some example projects and technologies used for those projects are:

Chat/Meeting/Audio/Video conferencing solution

• Develop an audio/video conferencing, chat, and meeting solution to replace our current communications solution.
• Solution was written in React and uses WebRTC and web sockets. It sits on top of SharePoint as a widget and the chat portion also integrates into a .NET website.
• Technologies used were React, webRTC, web sockets, MongoDB Data Collection mobile application

Develop an iOS and Android mobile application to allow providers to take data collection when providing services to clients.

• Applications have offline capability and sync data to SharePoint data collection web app when user is online.
• Technologies used were iOS Native and Flutter Automated Hiring Process

Develop a one-click solution to allow admin staff to hire applicants from within SharePoint

• Solution batch processes pending hires and automatically provisions network, email, SharePoint, and communication tool accounts and sets appropriate role-based permissions. It has automatic retry of failed steps and a dashboard within SharePoint to show the status of the account provisioning and report any steps that failed in the process.
• Technologies used were C#, PowerShell, and SQL Time Entry

Develop a robust time-entry system, with complex business logic rules, for employees to use to bill their time that integrates with other SharePoint data required for time entry

• Solution is a single page application built with React. Application is accessible from SharePoint and uses a C# API for communication with SharePoint data and the SQL backend.
• Technologies used were React, C#, and SQL Other technologies used in various projects, in addition to the ones mentioned above, are VueJS, JavaScript, and Azure storage/function apps.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We have had around 9-10 people from Share IT’s teamwork with us over the years. Their positions were front-end developers, full stack developers, and mobile app developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Overall, the deliverables were met according to the specifications we provided.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The CEO of Share IT served in a project management role along with a business analyst from our team. The preferred communication tool was JIRA, although some communication was done through instant messaging tools or email tools.

Depending on the developer and project some communication flowed through the CEO where other projects we were able to work directly with the developer and get updates. Most communication was done in a timely manner, although sometimes there were delays due to time zone differences, communication not coming directly from the developer, or some developers not being as proactive to provide frequent updates.

Techniques like scheduling meetings or asking for daily updates via email helped to improve some of the timeliness though.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They've really taken the time to understand our business processes and requirements which helped with having more context for future projects, instead of just narrowly focusing on the development task at hand.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Some developers could be more independent and grow their business process knowledge, development skills, and testing skills in order to prevent bugs, prevent rework, and speed up their development.

My company is a provider of engineering services and software solutions within the pharmaceutical and food sectors. We have built a small team of SMEs with Engineering Design, Construction and Qualification expertise and combined it with software solutions mainly focusing on Office 365 platform. We offer bespoke solutions which we manage and deliver through 3rd party support. I am the Founder and Managing Director.

We hired ShareIT as the developer for a web app that we wanted to develop to support Contractor management. ShareIT provided the expert knowledge and developer know how to deliver this app.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Over the years we have worked on smaller projects where we used ShareIT as Subject Matter Expertise. This was mainly in Sharepoint. Over the years ShareIT have grown to provide services in application development. I did not go out to tender for the work as i know that ShareIT provide excellent services in knowledge, value and schedule delivery.

We required a web based solution that manages contractors. This includes both prequalification and work permitting. The system would allow for client spaces to be created within which they can qualify contractors and approved permits to work. We created the initial functional requirements and then engaged with ShareIT.

From here we developed the final Functional Specification and developed initial local instance of application. We went used Github to manage the deveops. We worked with ShareIT team for user testing prior to initial release. We deployed to azure and did some final testing. System was subsequently release. It is built using React, Express, Mongo and NodeJS .

The project was delivered to the agreed schedule and at the agreed cost.

We used the waterfall approach as we had clearly identified at the early stages of the project our requirements. We used Github for the software development management and O365 Teams for project collaboration

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed by how they seamlessly integrated with our team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

For this project no. We found ShareIT to understand our requirements, work with us as a team to provide the expertise that we did not have in house.

We needed an extended arm for .NET development to speed up the delivery for the project.

How did you select Share IT and what were the deciding factors?

I know that Steve and his team is in the industry last 15+ years, and he is always my first choice when we need additional resources for the Microsoft tech stack.

They helped us to change existing features and add some new ones to the .NET Core application.

There were two people. One front-end developer and one full-stack developer.

All deliverables were respected on time.

We communicated through Skype and Slack. All hours were tracked in our collaboration/project management tool. Communication was great, and their responsiveness.

Their communication, understanding requirements, suggestions, responsiveness, and code quality were impressive.

No, everything was great.

I’m an IT consultant for Ergomed PLC, a clinical research organization.

We needed someone to develop a timesheet and reporting app for us.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted fast and accurate time capture, web administration capabilities, as well as the ability to produce different data-based reports.

How did you select this vendor?

We knew their founding members while they were still working for another company, and we followed them into their new endeavor. We’ve been working with them for over 10 years, so we know their expertise.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They handled the entire project, from start to finish, including building a web administration application to allow for easier management.

What was the team composition?

We communicated with their CEO and a junior, full-stack developer.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

As an IT teammate, I can't speak to the impact on the business, but time capture and reports are important for HR and resourcing.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We supplied the project management and everyone worked well together.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They’re quite smart and experienced, and some of their ideas saved us time and improved the final product.

I’m not aware of anything they could improve.
