Serious Development was engaged to develop a portal for our providers and increase the efficiency of our operations team. We needed to offer self serve options for our providers to refer cases, check claim status and payment information. We needed to offload simple inquiries to an online option to free up our operations team for additional activities. We recently launched a new product which expanded our current product from a one day surgical episode of care to a 30 day episode of care. This required us to develop a new work flow capturing and recording all services during a 30 day period. Goal was to produce a user friendly instructional work flow for our providers within a very tight timeframe

Serious Development created and developed our provider portal. We have been working with them for over 5 years. The project was an extension of the existing portal. We continue to work with Serious Development based on their continued creativity, responsiveness and dedication to our goals.

They designed and developed a solution for submission and tracking of a 30 day episode of care. Initial phase we discussed and developed the workflow and supporting documentation. The design and coding phase ran parallel due to time constraints. The business unit and the technical team met daily to make design adjustments and review and adjust workflow. The project was intricate in that numerous providers would be interacting with the same forms and information needed to flow between forms. The development team needed to be flexible and make adjustments due to elements discovered through out the project. Project was fully tested in sandbox and blue production, then moved to production with no issues.

There were 3 core people on the team, a project manager, 1 senior coder and 1 designer. Due to the time constraint on the new product launch Serious Development pulled other coders and designers into the project. The flow of development and design was extremely organized. I was always aware of the stages of the project and what was expected next.

The project launched on time which was an amazing accomplishment due to the complex nature of the workflow and the short timeline. The technical team could not have been more dedicated to producing a quality product. They worked extremely long hours to make our deadline and launch that a product ready for production.

We later asked them to develop an inventory management system that would be able to track our inventory from raw materials, production, international shipments, all the way to finished products getting shipped out to customers.

It is very hard to find an outsourced development team that is able to understand your business needs the first time, such that very little is lost in translation from the customer meetings to the point where development happens.
